Brakk
Bagus, pikir Narine. Profesional. Tanpa basa-basi. Cocok.
Begitu lift terbuka, suasana berubah drastis.
“Kamu sekretaris pribadi Pak Arkana. Harus selalu siap dipanggil kapan pun. Termasuk kalau dia butuh kamu di luar jam kantor.”
Narine mengangguk. “Baik.”
“Nomor ponselmu harus aktif 24 jam.”
“Baik.”
“Jangan tanya dua kali kalau dia sudah menjawab sekali. Jangan ulangi kesalahan. Jangan pernah buat asumsi.”
'Gue jadi sekretaris apa jadi babysitter nih masa 24 jam anjir'
Narine menatapnya.
“Pertama, jangan pernah telat kamu harus tepat waktu. Kedua, jangan pernah menunda instruksi. Ketiga-” Helena menatap langsung, “usahakan jangan pernah salah.”
Nada itu membuat Narine sedikit mengeraskan rahangnya. “Saya bisa mengikuti standar kerja tinggi. Itu bukan masalah, kak.”
Helena tersenyum tipis. “Bukan standar kerja yang jadi masalah. Orangnya.”
Maksudnya apa?
Tapi sebelum Narine sempat bertanya, pintu ruang eksekutif terbuka.
Helena hanya menepuk bahunya. “Dia masih hidup, ada-ada aja kamu”
Narine hampir tertawa sampai seseorang lewat di hadapannya.
Langkah panjang, jas hitam slim fit, aura tenang yang berbahaya. Sorot mata tajam. Rahang keras. Rambut hitam rapi sedikit berantakan seolah disentuh angin pagi. Arkana Rivard.
Beberapa staf langsung menunduk. Ada yang pura-pura sibuk. Ada yang menahan napas. Sementara Narine berdiri diam.
Arkana nyaris melewatinya, tapi kemudian berhenti. Menoleh. Menatap Narine sebentar dari ujung kepala sampai ujung sepatu. Bukan tatapan menggoda. Bukan juga tatapan ramah. Lebih mirip evaluasi instan dan dingin.
“Orang baru,” katanya datar pada Helena.
“Ya, ini Narine Aldira, sekretaris-”
“Follow me,” potong Arkana.
Begitu saja. Tanpa kata perkenalan, tanpa salam. Ia berbalik dan berjalan. Narine refleks mengikuti. Helena memberi isyarat halus, cepet ikutin.
“Tugas pertama,” kata Arkana.
Narine mengecek jam tangannya. 08.52.
Sisa 48 menit?
“Dokumennya ada di server. Cari folder ‘Confidential’, subfolder ‘Aurum Merger’,” lanjut Arkana.
Narine mencatat cepat. “Passwordnya?”
Arkana menatapnya lama lalu tersenyum tipis. Sebuah senyum yang tidak ramah. Lebih mirip tantangan.
“Cari tau.
"Mom's home!" Alea shouted as she stepped into her apartment, followed by Archi who had the goal of meeting Alarik and having dinner together. "Alea, we want to eat—Archi is there too," Eros said a little confused by Archi's arrival. Archi waved his hand greeting Eros awkwardly. "Aci!" Alarik came out of his room and ran to Archi, the boy stretched out his arms asking to be picked up. "Aci, do you know?" asked Alaric, the boy looked at Archi seriously. Exasperated, Archi also looked at Alaric seriously, and waited for Alaric to continue what he said. "What?" "Al has a father now." Alaric pointed at Eros who was standing not far from them, with a forced smile, Archi nodded his head in understanding. "Ah yes, what do you want for dinner?" asked Alea, trying to change the subject. "Wanna make chicken soup? Alaric has to eat nutritious food right," Eros said, he felt the atmosphere was even more awkward, so he tried to divert it as much as possible with Alea. "But Al wants
They arrived at Alea and Alaric's apartment room, Eros put the boy to sleep in his room and returned to Alea who was still busy unpacking her bag. "I will return to my hotel now," said Eros, but Alea quickly held his hand so that Eros would not leave. "Are you sure you want to sleep in a hotel? Won't you just stay here?" Alea asked a little nervously, she was afraid that Eros would think he was ridiculous for asking her to stay over. "Can I stay here?" Eros looked at Alea seriously, he was afraid to make Alea and Alaric uncomfortable with his presence in their apartment. Alea smiled while nodding her head slowly, "Of course, Eros. You're Alaric's father," she answered. Alaric's father? Eros furrowed his brow in confusion, so he was only considered as 'Alaric's father' and not Alea's husband anymore? Does Alea no longer think of Eros as her husband, because they've been separated for quite a while? But still! Eros had not signed the divorce papers given by Alea at that time,
"Daddy!" screamed Alarik when Eros had just stepped into his inpatient room, Alea turned around briefly and greeted him with a smile, the woman seemed to be busy buttoning the shirt Alarik was wearing. Hearing Alaric's call to him, of course Eros felt happy. He did not expect that this simple call could color his life and make him very happy. Alaric didn't seem to mind calling him that for a relatively short time, perhaps because he was still so young, and was very happy when he realized that he too had a father, like his other friends. "How is it? Al is ready to go home?" asked Eros while crouching in front of Alaric and taking over Alea's work. Alea was a little surprised, because Eros suddenly pulled her hand gently, and motioned to Alea with a smile so that Eros would do it. "Let me do it," he said briefly, Eros' eyes were now shifted to Alaric. "What are you going to do? After you get home." Hearing Eros' question, Alaric thought for a moment, then before long his smile
I don't know since when, Eros has been standing in front of Alarik's inpatient room. He did not have the courage to meet Alaric, his son. Admitting it, for some reason Eros now felt very happy. Meeting Alea again and apparently having a son who is truly his flesh and blood, made Eros not believe it, he thought everything that happened yesterday was just a dream. But when he peeked into the glass at the door of the inpatient room, Eros saw Alea, his wife who he missed so much and also a boy with a face exactly like himself. Bracing himself, Eros pushed open the door and reflexively attracted the attention of Mother and Child who had been engrossed in chattering, Alea looked at Eros' arrival and smiled. "Uncle!" called Alarik with sparkling eyes when Eros came into his room. Eros breathed a sigh of relief because the boy's health was getting better. He also looked at Alaric, smiled and waved his hand, greeting Alarik. "Why is your smile not look scary anymore?" he asked innoc
