Chapter Twenty-four

GYPSY'S POV

Mrs. Mehra.

No. Not Mrs. Mehra.

She's a good person.

She's innocent.

She hasn't done anything wrong.

I almost blurt those words out as if Falcon is in front of me to hear them.

How? How did that devil even know what was going on? How did he even find out that I was planning to tell Enzo the truth? Is this place bugged? Has he been listening to us this whole time?

“Gypsy.” Enzo's baritone pulls me out of my mental turmoil. “Are you okay? What do you mean by you're not who I think you are?”

Clicking the power button of my phone I shove it back into my pocket and look up. Taking a deep breath, I'm met with green pools that are filled with curiosity and concern, and I nearly break down again.

Yes, I knew Enzo wouldn't forgive me even if I told him the truth, but at least it would've eased the burden of guilt I'm carrying. I was finally gathering the courage to run away.

But of course, the devil had to come in and destroy everything.
