“Ace!” we call out at the same time and after everything Ken just told me, I am not surprised that he knows who Ace is.
“He can’t enter. Dane told me he warded the house against any and everything supernatural and so unless I invite him, he can’t enter.” I assure Ken, who looked anything but convinced.
Ace chuckles and to my surprise, he, step into the house without my invitation.
“Well, as you can see, Dane lied!” Ken says, panic in his voice.
He had every right to panic. If everything Dane had told me about Ace was true, then none of them stood a chance against him.
“Hey, Ken, we finally meet.”
Ken drags my hand to his back with his hand and he stands in front of me in defence with his left hand held out as if to cast a spell.
Ace smirk, giving Ken a ridiculous look. “You can’t fight me. I’m three times stronger than you.”
“But n

Hello everyone and welcome to the part 2 of Betrayed by the Alpha. Thank you for sticking around. This book won't be as long as the first, but it will be filled with twist and turns. I hope I can continue to surprise you till the end. Thank you for the votes and comments and reviews. You keep me going. Happy reading. ❤️❤️ Third POV Six months ago, Dane Vixon laid in bed with his grey eyes fixed to the ceiling, listening to the sounds of the moving car on the road and the heavy footstep of Olly Martin’s, his neighbour who lived across the street and was making his way towards his garage. He had a habit of closing late and it was his way of avoiding any confrontation from his mate and wife, Blair. They argued always and their voices get so loud Dane can hear even without focusing. Dane didn’t focus his attention only on Olly and his w
Jaclyn’s lashes slowly lift and she sees Ken towering over her, speaking to someone, standing behind him because as her eyes scan around, she sees no one beside him. His eyes gradually move from her body where they have fixated on in the last minute and they move to settle on her dimmed ones. “She’s awake,” he announces, turning to the one behind him. “Stay still, I’m almost done,” he informs her, his eyes as bright as ever. Jaclyn does as she’s told and lays still, ignoring the cold gripping her skin into numbness and the pain still lingering in her heart and wrist. Her eyes fixate on the trees standing around and the birds flying and singing sweetly in her ears. She silently wondered why this environment felt so familiar and why, at the slightest glimpse of the missing connection dots in her memory, her heart ached even more? Whatever it was, didn’t feel good. “Don’t think too hard. I placed a blocking spell on your mi
“Will she make it through? You said she wasn’t strong enough for any major change and this is a MAJOR change.” Quinton’s panic is at the highest point, and Ken can’t stop him.Uncertainty flickered in his eyes, and his heart broke while he watched Jaclyn writhe in pain. “I don’t know, Quinton, she might not make it through. She’s still going through the pain of the truth about the man she once loved. I pray she makes it through, but I fear if this brings her premier shift, it might break her for the worse.”Quinton answer, his attention fixed on Jaclyn transforming on the floor while standing his ground beside her.Her hand cracked and one of them adjusted painfully, making her scream out and roll onto both hands and legs. The emotional pain had fuelled her shift, but it has soon been subdued by the physical torture of the shift.“Make it stop!” she cried out,
Ken drops a big bowl of red meat before Jaclyn as she and Quinton sat at the dining table while he served dinner. Her stomach growled loudly on seeing the delicious-looking stake, and her cheeks heat of embarrassment. After they got in, she had taken a shower and changed into another set of clothes, which was just as big as the grey shirt earlier, leaving her to believe they were Ken’s. He wasn’t huge, but he was bigger than her, for sure. She was grateful for the clothes but hoped they’d get new ones soon, perhaps after eating. “I am starving. I feel like I haven’t eaten all day.” Ken laughs. “You’re a werewolf now. You need food, meat, lots of it, so don’t waste any time before you eat.” The bowl is empty within three minutes and Jaclyn takes the jug of water to her mouth, not stopping until she gulps the entire liquid down her throat. Ken watches in amusement but says nothing. He’s happy to have her back... Or at least a fraction
Jaclyn left Ken in the kitchen and she wanders through the rooms of the cottage, getting acquainted with her surroundings. She wanders over to one of the inner rooms and, from the scent alone; she knows it’s Ken’s. The warm scent welcomes her further, and she widens the door and steps into the room. The neatness of his room is one thing she notices as she enters, which had always been Ken’s signature. He had even cleaned up after her a few times, which forced her to double her game of being alert and not dropping anything whenever she was around him. A neat white sheet covered his bed, which stayed on the opposite side of the door, close to the window. A few books stayed on the nightstand next to it, and one of those books was a spell book. Jaclyn knew it because she’d seen him with it more times than she could count when they were younger. His wardrobe stands at the right side and the room with a dressing mirror glued onto its front. The left side looked l
Two weeks later Ken stepped out of the cottage to get a few provisions from the next town store, and Jaclyn stayed inside and kept the door locked, just as Ken instructed. Two days after she regained consciousness, Jaclyn had woken up to a tug in her heart. The painful tug made her scream so loud she woke Ken and Quinton up, and they raced into her room to her aid. After the ache reduced, she explained what had triggered the outburst and Ken told her that her mark and bleeding heart were still healing, hence her pain. He added that her shift and transformation into a werewolf would have speeded up the healing process, but because her bleeding heart resulted from a ritual, its healing took longer than usual. Ken believed it would take a few months after her awakening for her healing to be completed and so she needed to stay at the cottage. Quinton received news of his father’s demise in a brutal attack last week and he left for the North immediatel
Her eyes flutter to see the lights of the room on, illuminating it and making her eyes strain. She felt confused as she’d seen Ken turn it off before leaving earlier. She drags herself off the bed and walks to the switch to turn it off when she heard. “We didn’t get to finish our discussion.” She flinches and collapses against the door, her heart slamming to the cage of her chest and her breath becomes short. She turns and sees Logan, the alpha she had seen in the living room during the day, standing before her. A smile comes to his face, and she finds it creepy. “This is impossible.” “It isn’t.” “How are you here? Ken already warded the house!” she saw it with her own eyes and did not believe Ken tricked her. “He has, but I’m not in the house. I am in your head. You are dreaming, Jaclyn Tarr.” he clarifies, pointing to her bed. Her eyes followed the movement of his hand to the corner of the room w
Jaclyn wakes up with force, panting, and sweat breaks out on her skin and her body trembles. The nightmare she just had coupled with Logan’s words terrified her.The door opens and the lights flicker on and in the next minute, Ken sits beside her. His hand comes up to touch her sweat covered face, and he tries to soothe and pacify her.“It’s a dream. You’re awake now.”Her trembling hands cling to his shirt like her life depended on it. Her body trembles as they pressed against his, finding warmth. The thought of losing him crushed her spirit, and she didn’t want to let go.Ken, as if knowing, kisses her hair and nuzzles her back, mumbling sweet nothing to soothe her.“You’re okay. You’re alright now, Jaclyn.”After a while of reassurance, her trembling reduces and her breathing settles. “Thank you. I was so scared.”“It’s fine.
Jaclyn entered the room where they laid the body of Ken and approached the bed. Silas sits beside Ken with his hand by his side him and when he senses Jaclyn's presence in the room, he rises to his feet and nods his head at his daughter before taking his leave. Her eyes well up with unshed tears, now being alone with Ken’s dead body. She tries to control herself and her emotions, but she can’t help it. So many times, Ken had told her to let the past go. He told her revenge will not bring her happiness, but sadness and pain. She never understood, but after the unfortunate event of the night, she knows he was right all along. His blood was on her hands and she would never forgive herself. She takes his chilly hands into hers, rubbing small circles all over them. “You were right. We should have stayed in that cottage. We were free to be ourselves, free to laugh, free to live, free to love each other. We shouldn’t have left. Everything was perfect there.” Her tears ran d
Jaclyn rose to her feet, her eyes glowing yellow just like her skin. She storms through the fighting crowd like a whirlwind, heading to where Allen is.“I see you found out the truth already!” he says, acknowledging her fury.“And you die now.” she seethes. She reached for him but felt a block around him, although not seeing it.“I came with my fortification in case things turned sour, little fire wolf.” he informs her as if reading into her mind and seeing her dilemma. He grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the ground. She lands hard and her hand cracks.“I taught you all the tricks you know, and you really think you can use them on me?” his leg swings forward and he kicks her in the face as she falls to the ground again, groaning. He reaches out and grabs her by the hair, pulling her onto her feet and delivering punches after
Ace lay spread out on his gigantic bed with his eyes closed. Two women are resting beside him. He had brought them along to celebrate his victory over his brother and claiming the rogue pack. Now, as midnight passed, they needed rest. However, Ian stepped into the room to interrupt his much-needed rest.“Someone is here to see you.”“Who is he?” Ace moans, his lashes cracking open. The girls beside him wake as well.“His name is Kenneth Miller. He once trained with the rogue pack alongside the fire wolf and Caroline Matters. He’s like me, a witch.” Ian answers.Ace doesn’t need all the information. He knows who the kid was. He had faced him about a year ago when he came to the safe house. “What did he say?” he asks, helping himself up with his elbows on the bed.“He said he needed an audience with you. He believes what he has to say is important.”“Let him speak to you, then.” Ace
“Alpha, there is an attack on the entrance of the pack house. I think the alpha of the fury park is leading the raid.” Liam announces, stepping into the room where Dane lay, trying to regain his strength. After the fight with his brother a few hours ago, Dane felt his strength leave him and it’s still yet to return.“How did they know we would be in fewer numbers today?” Dane asks, his tone dominated by confusion as he properly sits up.“Could this be Ace’s doing?” Liam asks, his voice rising curiously.“Ace is a lot of things, but he will never betray his own. If he wanted me dead, he wouldn’t do it through anyone. He’d challenge me up front.” he ran a hand through his hair. “How many of us are left?”“We are twelve, alpha. Yourself included.”“And them?”“They were over a hundre
“Your brother believes I have an ulterior motive for coming back to you, doesn’t he?” Jaclyn asks, leaning against the door while Dane puts on his shirt. He had brushed over everything that had happened at the party, including his brother’s challenge to Jaclyn after they left the party yesterday. He promised he will handle everything today and when Jaclyn asked to come see him before the face off; he didn’t object. Dane sighs, adjusting his shirt. “Ace has had a hard time trusting anyone but himself for the longest of time.” She turns to stare him straight in the eyes. “What about you then? Do you think I have an ulterior motive for coming back?” He doesn’t hesitate, “At first I did, but you had the chance to kill me months ago at the boxing ring and you chose not to, I’ve never been good at gambling, but I’d bet my life that you don’t want me dead. And if you do, it will be because I deserve it. It’s hard for people to see the truth
Ken stands before the white wooden door and knocks on it. After about a minute, it opens and Silas stands before him in black trousers and grey polo. The man looks surprised to see Ken, however, the look on his face remains welcoming. “Ken.” “Silas.” “Hey,” he says. “We need to talk.” Ken interrupts and pushes past him further into the room even without being invited in. If Silas took offence at this, he says nothing as he closes the door and follows Ken further into the house. “How did you find me?” he asks once they reach the living room. Ken scoffs, “I’m a witch, Silas. I know where you and ten others I passed by while coming here live.” “Fine. Why are you here?” “To ask you what it takes to be a spineless father.” Ken shoots immediately. This time, his words strikes Silas, and a frown forms on his face. “What’s that supposed to mean?” “It
Jaclyn was still working on the broadsheets on her desk before her when she sensed Dane’s presence at the door of her office. Last month, Dane had helped set her back into the Northrich university she left a year ago. The plan was to work while schooling and she told him she could take on both responsibilities. Dane saw to it to assign her the minimum work while paying her the salary as if she was a full-time employee. He also stayed off her way, only seeing her a few times a week, giving her time to adjust to the working routine. She didn’t bother to lift her head from the files she worked on. He hadn’t lurked around in the last three weeks and so she knows something is up today. But knowing Dane, she doubts he’d go straight to the point. Well, he stands in her office and she can’t ignore the hell out of him like she wants.“Hey.” He speaks, and her head slowly lifts to see him with a wide smile on his face.“Hello.
Cathy brings over the second round of the shot of vodka Jaclyn ordered. Franklin, the bartender, went on leave to see his sick mother last week and Cathy here has covered for him since. She smiles at her before bringing the glass to her mouth when she feels someone sit beside her and, without turning to see who it is, she knew it was Ken. Her mood changes slightly. These past months she’d missed him so much, but she didn’t want him here. Not now. “Hello, Jaclyn.” “Ken,” she nods in acknowledgement, rounding her finger over the mouth of the small cup she just placed down. “It’s been a while, Jaclyn. I’m left to believe you forgot about me at this point.” She didn’t, but she can’t tell him that. “I’ve been quite busy.” Pain flashes in his eyes and he clears his throat. “Caroline told me you accepted the job at the Vixon’s industry four weeks ago.” “I did.” “You didn’t tell me.” “I didn’t think I had to, besides I kn
Flashback Eight months ago, a month after Jaclyn woke. “People say the moon goddess loves all his children equally. Well, they lied because the moon goddess loves the fire wolf more.” Ken read aloud as he came to take his seat on the couch next to Jaclyn, holding two small textbooks in his hands. “How do you mean?” she asked from beside him, her legs folded in a yoga style and her hands rubbing her knee. “Remember when I told you fire wolves can never be mated or marked, but they can choose their mate and mark them?” when she nodded he continued, “This book confirms it.” “That, never having a mate sounds like a bad thing instead of good,” she said with a displeased scowl. “It’s not. The purpose of a fire wolf is more than finding a mate. The goddess, knowing this, made them unmarkable at least to an extent.” he closed the book and opened the other one, having a brown hardcover back. He did a dramatic throat-clearing before read
