Xander POV
Xander should be anywhere but here, Heck! He even had meetings to attend but his mom had insisted he come, saying he needed to be there in person.
He shouldn’t have even volunteered to donate to the school this year. He knew his mom wanted him to be here so she could show him all the unmarried singles he needed to meet as if he wanted to.
He straightened the cat mask he had on, he hated the thing, it was the dress code of Aldult for the custom day this year.
He folded his arms, leaning back into the wall where he stood in the corner of the hall, just to be unnoticed but it seemed nothing he ever did seem to go unnoticed.
Xander noticed all the ladies staring at him, even the ones that came with their husbands. Some bit their lips, seductive. Others wanted to talk to him but Xander didn’t want to, he didn’t care what they wanted.
He wanted one woman, and when he had her, he foolishly let her slide from his grasp.
Way to go Xander.
Xander groaned inwardly when he saw one of the ladies approaching. He straightened as she came close.
“Mr. Xander,” she said, sashaying her hips and Xander stared at her coolly.
“Yes?” He said and she smiled. He knew that smile all too well—she wanted him to go all the way with her.
“I am Chloe,” she said and Xander offered a robotic smile.
“Nice to meet you, Chloe, is there anything I can help with,” he said. Chloe leaned in beside him.
“Nothing at the moment Xander. I just you know saw you standing there and wanted to talk to you” she said and Xander's green eyes bore into her brown ones.
“Yeah, thanks, Chloe. But I assure you, that I am not fun to talk with” he smiled for real this time and Chloe giggled.
“I think that’s a lie, Xander,” she said and Xander smiled slowly.
“Are you calling me a liar now, Miss Chloe?” he said. Chloe let out a small laugh.
“God no, Xander. You don’t look like one. See you are already making me laugh, that means you are fun to talk with” she said and Xander nodded. If only she knew him, he was a cold callous bastard.
“So…..There this one question, people have been dying to ask” Chloe said and Xander sighed.
“I know the question,” he said tiredly. Chloe raised a brow.
“You know?” She asked and Xander nodded. He pushed back his dark hair.
“You wanna ask if I have a girlfriend or a wife?” He said and watched Chloe’s face for a reaction. Chloe's lips lifted into a knowing smile.
“Then you follow the tabloids a lot, Mister Zander. So what’s the answer” she said. Xander shrugged.
“I have no girlfriend or wife, I whore around a lot,” he said. This was technically not true, ever since Lizzy had left him he couldn’t even find satisfaction in another woman, he wanted her, she and she alone. He wanted to touch her blond hair, to hear her whisper his name, but no, he had to ruin that.
Xander turned to Chloe. Her brown eyes were fixed on him with longing, wanting. Xander shook his head.
“So did you come with your kid” he asked. Chloe blinked and shook her head.
“Umm…no, it’s my sister's daughter. Her mother isn’t around so I came for her”. Chloe said, her eyes wandered to his lips and she licked hers.
“Do you think I’ll have a chance?” She said and Xander stared at her confused.
“Chance for what?” Xander asked and she shrugged.
“Chance with you,” she said seriously. Xander chuckled, he knew this was where it would head. He turned to face her fully, she was beautiful, very but Xander didn’t want to stress it, he knew that even if he wanted to, Lizzy’s face would keep blinking into existence at the back of his head.
“You are very beautiful Chloe, Perfect, but I don’t think there’s that chance,” he said and Chloe nodded. He could see the sadness in her eyes, he tucked a strand of her red hair behind her ear.
“I want us to be friends though, I haven’t joked in a while and you made me do just that,” he said and Chloe smiled.
“Alright Jesus,” she said and Xander laughed.
“Yeah. I need to use the restroom, I’ll catch you up later” Xander said and waved as he headed out of the hall.
Xander smiled to himself as he walked down the hallway, he had no intention of going to the restroom. He just didn’t want to put Chloe in a difficult spot after outrightly telling her no. He had to admit he liked Chloe, she was funny and made him smile more than once.
The last time he had smiled was with Lizzy, he missed her and he wished she was here. Xander smiled to himself bitterly, that was if she would ever forgive him. He wanted her but he couldn’t refuse Sage as well.
Xander shoved his hands in his pocket as he walked down the long hallway. The mask was starting to itch and Xander had the urge to throw it away but he held himself back. He didn’t want his mom in trouble when the media picked that up and slandered his name.
He turned a corner and stumbled into a small someone.
“Ow!” The kid said and Xander helped her up. He smiled apologetically at her.
“Sorry,” he apologized and she nodded and straightened. She wore a costume from a series he once had watched. Her face was oddly familiar.
“I am sorry dear. I wasn’t looking” he said and she beamed at him.
“That's alright sir. I wasn’t looking as well. I was caught up in my excitement to perform today” she said and Xander smiled, he didn’t know why but he loved this young girl already.
“Oh. That’s right, what are you playing as?” He asked and she beamed.
“Daenerys Targaryen,” she said and Xander smiled, he remembered the name now.
“Oh, a dragon queen, that’s nice. What’s your name sweetie” he asked and she grinned.
“Mia, what’s yours, sir?” She asked and Xander smiled.
“It’s Xander, nice to meet you, Mia,” he said and she waved as she walked away.
“And you too Mr Xander”
Lizzy POVThe costume day was a total success. Mia was awarded as the best role-playing child. She did her part well especially the “Dracarys” part. Meanwhile, Lizzy had been trying hard not to laugh as she saw Mia's haughty face when saying “Dracarys”Mia was nodding her head now to a song blasting from the car radio.“So Mom how was I today” she asked and Lizzy smiled and ruffled Mia’s hair. She allowed her this time.“You won the award honey you are the best,” Lizzy said and Mia rolled her eyes.“Yeah. But I know you mom, I want to hear your own opinions” she said and Lizzy smiled to herself. She was pretty smart for an eight-year-old.“Okay, you’ve got me. I just find your “Dracarys” face funny that’s all”“Mom! That’s not good” she said and Lizzy laughed and made an imitation of Mia on the stage.“Dracarys,” She said and Mia laughed.“Maybe you should have taken the role of mom,” she said and Lizzy laughed.“Maybe” Lizzy agreed. Lizzy used to love acting before. But now she work
Lizzy POVLizzy's heart pounded in her chest like crazy. She had never expected this, not in many years. That Xander would show up on the porch of her house. How did he even know her address?“Hello” came that soothing deep voice that had whispered slutty things to her before.“What do you want?” She snapped and Xander smiled. An annoying innocent smile.“I just came to visit,” he said and Lizzy started to close the door but Xander’s foot stopped it and he pushed the door back open.“I don’t want you here. Get out” Lizzy said and Xander smiled.“What if I don’t want to leave?” He asked seriously. Lizzy wanted to stare into those flammable green eyes but she couldn't because of the fear of getting lost in them.“Then I’ll call the cops,” she said and Xander smiled. He didn’t budge from where he stood.“Go on. Call them then” he said and Lizzy shot him a deadly glare. How could she forget, he had a lot of influence and power no cop would dare lay a hand on him if they valued their job.
Xander POVWhen Xander felt her lips on his, He lost all sense of reasoning. She was like a drug, he couldn’t stop having her. He just wanted her so much, it hurts. He wanted in his arms,“Xander stop” she mumbled in his mouth but he wouldn’t, he couldn’t he had to have her now before he went crazy.“I can't,” he replied and cupped her butt in his hands. Lizzy pushed him away and scowled.“Don’t ever try that” she said and Xander stared at her, he wasn’t fazed. The fact that she allowed him to go as far as kissing her meant that she still wanted him as much as he wanted her.“Why didn’t you tell anyone about Mia” he asked and Lizzy shrugged. Xander could see that she looked uncomfortable like Mia was a topic she didn’t want to discuss, of course, it only made him want to know more.“How old is she?” He asked and Lizzy shot him a deadly glare. One that would have brought lesser men to their knees in forgiveness but Xander was every bit as stubborn as she was, even more.“It’s none of y
Lizzy smiled as she saw Mia dressed in her costume for costume day in school. Mia smiled at her mom and flashed a smile…a smile that reminded her of someone, someone she didn’t want to be reminded of.“Mom! See I am dressed as Daenerys Targaryen” she said and Lizzy smiled lovingly in return.“It’s Daenerys, honey,” she said and Mia shrugged.“Dae-ne-rays,” she said rolling the “r” “Sounds exotic,” she said and Lizzy grinned. Mia had been the one from her past that didn’t bring her pain. The one thing that kept Lizzy sane. She watched as Mia straightened her white wig that she had ordered from Amazon, and her daughter looked every inch a princess.“How do I look, mommy?” She asked and Lizzy grinned. Lizzy tried to ruffle the wig but Mia danced away, wagging her finger at her.“You look like a queen,” Lizzy said and Mia smiled smugly.“Good, because I am going to burn some guys with my dragons,” she said, making a pouty face.“Mia!” Lizzy exclaimed and her daughter laughed.“I am kiddi
