Chapter 6

last update Last Updated: 2025-03-01 01:49:05

“That’s enough, Izzy, Aria is only a maid here, she works for every Luna, she doesn’t have the right to peep into their private matters, even if Kara was pregnant even though I as his Mate doesn’t know about it, so let the innocent girl be at peace” Kieran said.

“Former mate” Izzy sneered back, her arms crossing as she glared at him.

Kieran’s jaw tightened. The subtle twitch of his fingers betrayed the storm brewing beneath his calm exterior.. “Keep pushing, Izzy, and see what happens.”

Izzy scoffed, a bitter laugh, her gaze icy as she eyed him.. “Oh, I’m terrified.” She turned to Aria, who stood frozen, her hands clutching the hem of her uniform. “And you—”

“That’s enough, let her be” Kieran cut in sharply. His tone held finality, but Izzy wasn’t one to back down easily.

“Enough?” Izzy laughed dryly. “Tell me something, Kieran. Kara isn’t your mate anymore and you still care if she has a child with you? Even if she has a child with you, are you supposed to care? She is banished from this pack, do not even speak of her anymore, I don’t want to hear that”

Kieran’s lips pressed into a thin line, tight line. His gaze flickered between Izzy and Aria, an inner war raging within him. Silence stretched between them like an invisible rope, each of them pulling in opposite directions, testing their strength.

Then, Aria finally spoke, her voice small but firm. “I think…I—I should go.”

Her words seemed to hang in the air for a while before she turned, her eyes wide, seeking escape from the opposite door.

She turned to leave, but Izzy wasn’t done yet, she shot forward, her hand darting out to grip Aria’s hand but instead she grabbed her waist before the young maid could leave..

“Not so fast, I still need more of your service” she said, grabbing Aria’s wrist.

Kieran’s body tensed instantly, a low growl rumbling in his chest. He took a step forward, his gaze locking onto Izzy’s hand wrapped tightly around Aria’s wrist. “Let. Her. Go, some other maids will attend to you, not her anymore.” His voice was low, controlled, but the warning was clear.

Izzy raised an eyebrow, a smirk curling on her lips as she tutored her head. “Why is that?” Izzy asked, her voice laced with mock curiosity.

“She is Kara’s maid, she can not serve you any more” Kieran said, his tone firm, though his voice betrayed a hint of hesitation.

Izzy scoffed, stepping closer, her smirk widening into a wicked grin.  “She should have left with Kara but she choose to stay, so how is that my fucking business?” Izzy asked, as she stepped in front of Aria, blocking her path from leaving, her eyes daring Kieran to contradict her.

“Let the maids have their free life, they aren’t slaves, they are here to help you, not to be at your beck and call” he said, his voice strained, his patience nearing its breaking point.

Izzy’s expression shifted, a gleam of amusement flickering in her eyes as she leaned closer to him, she tilted her head . “Oh? Since when do you defend the maids?”

Aria still rooted in place, swallowed hard, unable to meet Kieran’s gaze. Her heart pounded in her chest, her stomach twisting with dread. She had never wanted this confrontation, never wanted to be caught in the middle of their anger.

Izzy stepped closer to Aria, her voice suddenly dropping to a dangerous whisper.  “Let’s get something straight, you little maid.” Izzy continued, her voice sharp. “You might fool Kieran with that innocent act, but I know exactly what you’re doing. Lurking. Listening. Watching.” She tired her head, her eyes narrowing with a calculating gleam.

Aria flinched, her heart racing as her throat went dry. She opened her mouth to speak, to deny her accusations, but Izzy cut her off before she could say a word.

“You think I don’t see the way you look at him?” Izzy pressed, stepping closer, her face inches from Aria’s. “Like you think he is your knight in shining armor? Your fucking hero?”

Aria’s breath caught in her throat, and she felt a flush rise in her cheeks. “I wasn’t—” she stammered, but the words refused to form properly.

“You think I wouldn’t notice and talk??” Izzy pressed, stepping closer.

Aria stiffened. “I—”

"Enough." Kieran’s voice sliced through the moment, sharper than a blade, and suddenly the room felt colder. His eyes were blazing with fury, his chest heaving with barely controlled anger. "Let her go, Izzy."

Izzy held Aria’s gaze for a long moment, a sneer curling her lips, before she finally released the young maid’s wrist with a sharp, dismissive flick of her hand. "Run along, little maid," she sneered, her voice dripping with scorn. "Go back to playing your little game of innocence."

Aria didn’t hesitate. She turned on her heel and bolted for the door, her heart thundering in her chest. The pressure that had been bearing down on her seemed to lift the moment she stepped into the hallway, but the words and tension still clung to her like a shadow.

The door slammed behind her, the sound echoing in the quiet hallway as the two remaining figures stood in the room, their eyes locked.

The silence between them was suffocating.

"You’re pushing it, and when I say it’s enough, it’s enough" Kieran said, his voice low and dangerous, his chest rising and falling with every breath. His tone was a clear warning, but Izzy didn’t flinch.

Izzy smirked, her gaze never leaving him. "Am I?" she asked, her voice light with amusement. "Or are you just realizing you’re not as over me as you think you are? Even if you are the Alpha do not think that for a second you can control me"

Kieran’s eyes darkened, his jaw tightening. "You should see yourself right now,You’re delusional, I don’t like this”.

“What!” Izzy said before Kieran could open the door and walk away.

“Because I couldn’t give you a pup? Am I the problem here or are you just not sexually active?” Izzy said.

“How dare you?”
