The Omegas fussed around us as we sat down at the dinner table, and I couldn't help but steal glances at Dion. I had known him for years, but it never failed to amaze me how handsome he was. His chiselled features and piercing blue eyes seemed to captivate everyone in the room.

I sipped some more wine to calm my fluttering heart.

During the meal, Dion put down his fork and looked at me earnestly. "Kiana, thank you for managing the pack so well. Your strength and leadership have been a true blessing to us."

I blushed, my fingers picking nervously at the edge of her napkin beneath the table. "Thank you, Dion. It's an honour to serve the pack."

I had been rehearsing this moment in my mind for months, and now it was here. I picked at my napkin. While I contemplated how to confess, Dion continued drinking. His eyes never left mine.

"Dion, I think you have had enough," I said.

He chuckled softly; his voice laced with amusement.

"Don't worry about me. I can handle a few more drinks."

At that moment, there was magic in the air, and I could feel the electricity between us. It felt like the world had worked together to bring us together. It was the perfect moment.

"I want to tell you something," I finally mustered the courage to say, my voice barely above a whisper. Dion's expression turned serious, and his curiosity piqued. "What is it?" he asked, leaning in closer.

My heart pounded as I whispered, "I've always loved you, Dion. Being your mate has been the best thing that ever happened to me. I just wish we were real, and that this wasn't just a contract." I looked into his eyes, hoping to see a glimmer of understanding.

He turned to look at me, and a warm smile spread across his face. He didn't say anything; he just leant in to kiss me. As his lips caught mine, I froze in confusion.

After half a second of confusion and with the alcohol making me brave, I seized the chance I'd been given. Leaning forward quickly, I put one hand to the back of his neck and pulled, pressing my lips somewhat sloppily against his. He returned the kiss passionately. He pulled his lips apart as I felt my heart pound and my breathing quicken.

With a gentle but unstoppable motion, he pulled me to my feet and then slid the fingers of his free hand along my jawline to the back of my neck.

I was keenly aware of the chance that he still might pull away, leaving me alone and humiliated. The thought briefly flashed through my mind that I should push him away first before he had the chance to leave me hanging.

It took a great deal of will to pull away. I placed my palms flat on his chest and pressed away while turning my head to the side. I panted as I shook my head and looked down at his chest rather than meeting his eyes. "You don't want this..." I mumbled, "You're just drunk."

The hand on my neck held me still as he leant down, pressing his jaw against the side of my head and pushing against it until my ear was tilted up towards him. His lips rested against my ear, and he breathed out in a near whisper, "I want this."

He released the grip on my neck and unclasped my necklace; it fell on the floor. He intertwined his fingers in my hair, then pulled firmly, letting me know I wasn't going anywhere as he kissed me softly just in front of my ear. His lips pressed gently against mine, lovingly, in vivid contrast to his hands that were forcefully holding me in place as he said, "And so do you."

My every nerve was on fire as I closed my eyes, listened to the whisper in my ear, and felt his hands pulling at my hair.

"I want you," I affirmed.

He released my wrist and slid his hand around my waist; the other still clutched my hair as he turned my face to him and kissed me deeply, ravenously. He pulled my hips to him and leant forward, towering over me as I leant back into the support of his arm.

He pulled his lips from mine only slightly as he said, "Show me how much you want me." He then kissed me once more, pressing the expanding bulge in his pants against my stomach.

"Take me into the bedroom." I whispered into his ear, as if hearing his thoughts.

Without hesitation, he carried me effortlessly in his arms towards the bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, he put a knee on the bed and laid me down gently. He pulled his arms out from under me, propping himself up on one elbow.

Pressed between my legs, he pushed a hand up over my dress and cupped my breast as his kisses ranged from my lips to my chin, then my jaw, and then onto my throat and neck. We got rid of our clothes in between kisses.

I clung to him as I sank into the river of our need and tightened my free arm around his neck. His warm seed spilt into my waiting womb as he roared and pounded in before emptying into me. His wolf took over, exposing his razor-sharp teeth.

"Alessia," he growled, his voice a low rumble in the darkness.

I froze, and my eyes opened wide with confusion. Did I hear right?

He was still inside me, jerking slightly as the aftershocks of our intense lovemaking subsided. I could feel his breath on my neck, hot and heavy, as he whispered her name again, this time with a hint of urgency. Goosebumps prickled my skin as I realised the gravity of his words.

"Alessia," he whispered as sleep engulfed him.

"Dion, get off me!" I exclaimed, pushing him away in shock and confusion. Did I hear right? My mind raced, trying to make sense of his words. Was he really confessing his love for Alessia while still being intimate with me? The room suddenly felt suffocating, and I needed to distance myself from this situation.

It had been two years since we had seen each other."How have you been, Kiana?" Alessia asked, hugging me.Given our complicated history, I had expected a more distant reception. In a daze, I somehow mustered a polite reply: "I've been well, Alessia. Thanks for asking. It's great to see you again."My attention drifted towards Dion. Probably eyes gave away my true feelings as they locked onto Dion, filled with a cold, lingering stare. The unspoken history between Dion and Alessia cast a shadow over my mood. "I missed you so much, Kiana." Alessia beamed. "You look beautiful. Is that gown from Dolce and Gabbana?I gave an empty smile. "Thank you, Alessia; where have you been all this time?" I tried to redirect the conversation away from my appearance."Oh, I was travelling here and there, trying to discover myself." Alessia's response only heightened the tension in the room, as it reminded me of the distance that had grown between Dion and me. He was still quietly staring at Alessia. I

A heavy silence lingered between us as Dion avoided my gaze, his eyes distant and evasive. "Yes, I hope you can understand," he finally murmured.I sneered, with a bitter edge to my tone. Dion _I clutched the divorce agreement in my hand, a heavy weight settling in my chest. The sadness that gripped me was inexplicable. I had never considered divorce, and the reality of it left me bewildered. Why would Kiana, who had confessed her feelings for me, choose to end our marriage? As I sat there, trying to make sense of it all, memories of our passionate moments flooded my mind. She was so beautiful and responsive. My wolf loved her the moment I found out that she was my mate. I resisted the bond, all because of my stupid ego and a promise. My stubbornness had pushed her away. I never considered her feelings. It was natural that she felt insecure when Alessia returned to the pack. I should have asked for her opinion instead of taking my decision. The regret washed over me, intensifying the heaviness in my chest and fuelling the desire to fight for what we once had.
