Chapter 51. A pleasant lunch.

I sigh deeply when I realize that this woman has abandoned a child in the park. Could she have done it on purpose? Did she genuinely forget? Well, that’s what happens when you leave a childless person to babysit. Amalia forgot the girls at home once.

I look at the three of them and say, “Go play now. Then I’ll take you to lunch.”

Christian tells me, “All three?”

“Let me talk to your father and let’s see what he says first. Alright?”

The little boy nods, giving me a big smile. Then the three of them return to the playground and I see them running around.

I take out my cell phone and call Matt. It dials twice and I hear him say, “Steph? Everything is alright?”

I sigh and say, “Hi Matt. Yes, I’m fine.”

“So, what do you need? How can I help?”

I clear my throat and say, “Matt, where is Christian?”

“Christian? He is in the house.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Why you ask? Do you know something?”

“Chris is with me, Matt.”

“Where are you? And why?”
