“My father?” I ask confused. I had never met my father. I never knew who he was. It wasn’t unusual in our world to not know who fathered us. As I had said, we weren’t close to our families. “How would he even know about me?” I asked my mother. “He’s always known, Miranda. He’s a powerful man, with many powers. I had no idea he would be tracking your progress,” she says sadly.“How could he track my progress?” I ask. “He has the gift of sight; he can see the future,” she replies. “What has he seen?” I ask desperately. “I have no idea, we only heard rumblings that he was coming out of hiding.
