Camilla’s POV:
There was nowhere for me to go that would save me from the three’s wrath. That was what I told myself as I was standing outside my mate’s door.
I took in a shaky breath and brought my balled hand up. Before I could think, I was already knocking on the Beta’s bedroom. Within seconds, the door was swung open and my mate, Seth, was standing in the doorway, shirtless and looking confused until his gaze finally settled on my face.
“Camilla…” My name trailed off his lips, and I could feel my body growing hot. I wrapped my arms around myself and took a step back.
What was I thinking coming here? Goddess, I knew he didn’t want me. He already made that clear a few hours ago. I took a shaky breath and turned my head to the side.
“I’m sorry, I-I shouldn’t have come here,” I whispered and was about to turn away when his arms wrapped around my shoulders and he pulled me in.
My whole body was on fire from his touch, and my lips were parted in a gasp. Seth closed the door behind us, and I was now very aware of him.
“Seth…” I whispered his name, and his large hands cupped my cheeks. My body continued to hum, and I couldn’t help but close my eyes and push my body closer to him.
“Who hurt you?”
I snapped my eyes open and looked at his, which had turned to slits. “What?” I was confused by his question, my brain finding it hard to understand anything else while he was so close to me.
His thumb ran across my cheek, the same cheek that still stung from one of the three slaps. “I can see the traces of a palm on your cheek, Camilla. Who. Hurt. You?”
I forced myself to take steps back until my back was against the door. I shook my head and looked down. I couldn’t tell him about it—even if he tried to do something to help me, it would only make things harder for me.
“No one.”
He took one long step toward me and tilted my chin up. His light brown eyes were swirling with anger as he looked at the redness on my cheek. “I will find out who it is,” he said, his hand reaching for the door, but I quickly placed my hand on his chest and he took in a sharp breath. “Please don’t. Really, it’s nothing.”
He looked at me for a long moment before nodding. He grabbed my hand and tugged me toward his bed. “You’ll be staying here tonight,” he growled with finality in his voice, and I couldn’t help but smile.
Seth walked to the double door closet. “Do you want to shower first?” he asked, turning to face me, and I nodded, finding it hard to locate my voice. Seth handed me a shirt and a brief, then cleared his throat. “You—uhm—can change into this when you’re done.”
“Thank you,” I whispered, my cheeks heating up. I quickly made my way to the other door where I knew the bathroom was from the countless times I had come to clean the high-ranking quarters.
As soon as I stripped, I quickly jumped into the shower and was grateful that the water was still warm. I frowned as it began to feel very hot on my skin and turned the heater off. Even with the water now running cold, it still felt very hot against my skin.
My stomach clenched tightly and I groaned. I quickly got out of the shower and put on the clean clothes Seth had given to me. When I pulled the bathroom door open, Seth was pacing around the room, and I looked at the clock that hung on the wall to see it was a few minutes past midnight.
“Seth?” My words came out in a whisper and I held onto the door for support. His body went rigid and slowly, he turned to face me.
“I don’t feel good.” I choked out and placed a shaky hand on my stomach that continued to clench in pain.
“You’re in heat.”
“Wha—” I tried to take a step forward but failed as my legs shook from the pain that shot from the pit of my stomach. Seth caught me before I could fall, and the parts where his body touched mine instantly became cool. I wanted more; I wanted him to touch me everywhere.
He carried me and placed me on the bed. As his hands were moving to leave my skin, I shook my head. “No… it hurts.” I choked, and the look on my beta’s face was twisted in pain.
“It’s only natural, Camilla. You just found your mate and it’s a full moon.”
I couldn’t register his words as the only thing I wanted was his skin on mine to ease the burning inside of me. “Touch me.”
Seth’s light brown eyes instantly darkened and he closed his eyes for a second. “You don’t want this, Camilla. It’s your heat making you feel this way.”
I only groaned, and my eyes welled up with tears from the pain that shot down to my legs. “It hurts. I know what I want, and I want you, my beta.”
“Fucking hell,” was the last thing I heard from him before his lips met mine and his hands cooling my every part of my skin that he touched. But it still wasn’t enough. I wanted more. I needed him to ease the burning inside me.
“Inside—” I gasped, turning my head to the side. “It hurts inside of me.”
Seth was breathing heavily above me. “Do you know what you are asking for, Camilla?”
I swallowed, looking at his face before spreading my legs. “Yes, Beta. I want you inside of me.”
Camilla’s POV:A small smile stretched across my cheek as I opened my eyes, but it immediately dropped when I realized that I was alone in the room. I sat up, the bedspread around my body pooling on my lap. “Seth?” I called, my eyes on the bathroom door, but there was no response.I pushed down the wrenched feeling that was beginning to form in my chest. Seth was probably out doing... well, Beta stuff.I quickly found my clothes, put them on, and made my way down the elevator to the lounging area in the pack house.I knew that the rest of the Omegas were already out doing their daily activities, so I snuck into the room that most of us shared and dashed for the bathroom. I released a deep sigh as soon as I was finished, and as I opened the door, my breath hitched. Standing outside the bathroom door were my worst nightmares, and they did not look happy.“Was wondering when you would finally crawl back in, you mutt,” Mia sneered, her cheeks slightly red from where I punched her last nig
**Camilla's POV**I couldn’t breathe.Every gasp of air felt like needles pricking my lungs. I didn’t care which direction I ran; I just wanted to get away from him—my mate.Fingers clasped around my arm, and I was spun around.“Camilla…” My eyes were closed, and I shook my head. No, I didn’t want him here; I didn’t want to see him.“Camilla!” he called again. I hissed, opening my eyes and jerking my hand back.“Leave me the fuck alone!” I tried to say with as much venom as I could muster, but it came out as a weak whisper instead. “Please,” I added, and even though it was summer, I felt cold—empty—and wrapped my arms around my shoulders.I was silent for a moment until—“I’m sorry,” Seth said, and I scoffed. I placed my hand on my forehead and paced back and forth while shaking my head.“Y-you’re sorry?” I laughed without any mirth, my body shaking from what I had just found out. “You have a wife and a child, and you’re telling me that you are sorry? Why didn’t you tell me?” I cried,
**Camilla’s POV**As soon as Tracey was distracted with something else, I parted my lips, ready to talk, but Seth beat me to it.“I have to go. Alpha’s calling,” he said. I quickly stood up.“Have they found Luna yet?” I asked. Seth pressed his lips into a thin line as I walked closer to him. “Please, I need to know,” I added, and he released a deep sigh.“I’m not sure yet. We just need to check out the abandoned buildings.”I puffed out a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding and sat down on the couch. “We will find her,” Seth whispered to me. At that moment, Tracey looked at us, and I pushed myself deeper into their couch.“I’m leaving,” Seth said to her. She frowned and placed her hands on his cheeks.“Come home safe,” she whispered, and I jerked my head to the ground as she placed her lips on his.Fuck. What was I doing here? Before I could think deeper, the sound of footsteps drawing closer made me snap my head back up. I flinched backward as Tracey stood close to me, and I sca
Camilla’s POV: I ran as fast as my legs would carry me with tears trailing down my cheeks. I couldn’t tell if Seth was following behind be but as soon as I was deep inside the woods, I fell to the ground and fisted the dirt underneath me. It felt like I couldn’t take in enough air and I brought my left fist to my chest and hit hard. “Breath!” I shouted, my voice echoing in the wind. “You did this, Camilla. You wanted this, you rejected him.” I said to myself but it did nothing to ease the buring in my heart. I didn’t know how long I sat in the forest but when I looked up, the sun was peaking behind the trees. The sound of twigs snapping make me snap my head to the side and I quickly scrambled to my feet. I pressed my palm into the tree next to me and turned my head around trying to find where the sound was from. The sound came again and I took in a deep sniff, trying to find whoever it was and that was when I realized that I was no longer within Packs territory. “Shit!” I cursed
**Camilla’s POV:**I tried to calm my nerves as I was led up a flight of stairs. As soon as I reached the last step, I was blinded by the bright lights outside of the underground cells. I tried to figure out where I was but was only surrounded by tall grasses. The guard pushed me forward, leading me down a path. It wasn’t long before a large building came into view, and I realized that we were behind their Packhouse.A chill ran up my spine as we rounded the building to the front. I could feel eyes on me, staring down with disgust, but that was the least of my concerns. I was scared of what lay beyond the door. The double doors were pushed open, and the man holding both of my wrists shoved me forward, making me stumble.“Move it, mutt!” the man growled behind me. I took a shaky breath. I climbed up another flight of stairs; up here, there wasn’t anyone. The man behind me let go of my hand, and I sighed in relief, rubbing the sore spot on my wrist. He knocked on the door, and a “come i
Seth’s POV:It has been three days since Camilla rejected me. I searched for her, trying to get her to change her mind, but it was like she vanished from the surface of the earth. I could no longer take it.I made my way downstairs to the Omegas' hall. It was still early in the morning, and I knew they would all still be in their rooms. "Everyone in hall B should be up and in straight lines," I said through the mind link before I reached their door.As soon as I was down, I didn’t waste any time as I pushed the door open. They truly were all on their feet, looking confused.“Good morning, Beta,” they all said, and I nodded, my eyes roaming the crowd.“I am looking for an Omega named Camilla. Has anyone seen her?” I asked, and murmurs began to flare up.I waited for about ten seconds before speaking up again. “She is about 5’5” in height with short brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone?” I asked, but it seemed like no one even knew of her.I saw a hand raised up and a head peek from the si
Seth’s POV:As soon as the gates to Alpha Zane’s home swung open and the car parked in front of the house, I quickly jumped out and made my way to the front door. My heart racing with each step that I took.I pressed the doorbell and within seconds, the door opened to reveal Luna Ava, her expression curious yet composed.“Good morning, Luna,” I greeted her, eyeing her swollen stomach for a moment before stepping inside as she made way for me. My eyes scanned the room, searching for Alpha Zane.“Seth, it’s good to see you. Zane is in his office,” she said with a gentle smile. I thanked her and quickly made my way up the stairs, not bothering to knock since Zane already knew I was here.Alpha Zane was seated behind his desk, and the moment his eyes landed on me, his brows pulled down into a deep frown. Alpha Zane and I weren’t close even though I have been working with him for a year now as his Beta. Ever since the last Beta betrayed him and almost killed his mate, he kept our relations
Camilla’s POV: I couldn’t tell how long it had been since I got kidnapped. Every day just seemed to blend together, and there wasn’t a single window to show us what time of day it was. Every sound made my heart skip as I feared they would come back for me. I wasn't happy being locked up in a cell by a pack I didn’t know, but the thought of being sold like a livestock terrified me even more. The thought of that sent shivers down my spine, even though it was eerily cold here. I rested my head on the brick wall and wrapped my hands around my legs. I was beginning to drift off to sleep when I heard the sound of the metal door being opened. I pressed my claws into my knees and held my breath. I wasn’t too hopeful that I would be released, especially not after the stunt I pulled when I met Alpha Leo. The yellow light that dangled in the middle of the corridor between cells was suddenly flickered on, and even though the light wasn’t exactly bright, it still made my eyes sting. My
