Seth’s POV

I ran my fingers through my hair and took a deep breath. All of this… for fucking nothing. I heard the sound of something dropping to the ground and turned around to see the woman who had saved me from being shot standing there, the large stick lying on the ground beside her feet.

I frowned and stepped away from the rogue who was bleeding on the floor and toward the blonde unknown woman.

She took a step back, her eyes moving to the gun in my hands. “I’m not going to hurt you,” I told her, tucking it into the waistband of my jeans. “I’m—”

“—You’re Seth. I heard you before I—”

“Ran away,” I cut her off just like she did, raising my brow. “Who are you?” I asked, and she wrapped her arms around herself.

“Layla Monroe. Daughter of Alpha Williams Monroe of the Blue Moon Pack,” she said, stepping closer to the fire but far away from the dead bodies.

“I see,” I mumbled, eyeing her, then looking at my surroundings.
