Chapter 5: Trouble

Giselle and Chase are total asshats. They completely deserve each other.

After leaving Giselle's room, I didn't have a minute rest, unfortunately, because it was almost lunchtime and I had to prepare lunch for the high ranks living in the Alpha's mansion.

I made my way back to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

Once everyone was at the table eating, I leaned by the door waiting on them.

"Raven, come close." Luna Danica said.

"Yes." I signed politely.

I didn't want to evoke my father's wrath for disrespecting his mate. I walked close to the table where they were having lunch.

"How is Giselle's decoration coming up," she asked.

"Excuse me?" I asked lost.

."You are aware Giselle's bonding ceremony is this evening, are you not?" She uttered, lifting her narrow-shaped eyebrows at me.

" I am, but .." I began to sign.

"No! but Raven, who do you expect to decorate the ceremonial hall...Giselle or I? " She quizzed. " I entrusted you with that responsibility ....didn't I? "

"No, you didn't!" I wanted to scream in protest, but one look from my dad had me lowering my head into submission.

"Go to the hall and don't come out until the decoration is done. Am I clear?"

I nodded and whirled towards the door.

"Lazy girl!"

I heard Danica say as I neared the door.

"I don't know why you still entertain her lazy ass, mom," Giselle said and I scoffed, strolling away.

Its passed mid-day and as the alpha family had their lunch, I went down to the hall to prepare the place for the bonding ceremony.

I arranged the chairs and set the table before I hung up the party streamers along the columns and blew up what seemed like thousands of balloons.

it was two hours to the ceremony and I was running around getting the last-minute preparations in order.

Outside the mansion, I could hear the voices of guests as they arrived at the River Moon pack.

The clan was expecting about four hundred people from six different clans in the area.

Six Alphas, betas, and eight former alphas plus gammas and the future alphas of the clans.

In addition to alphas, betas, and gammas from the six clans, almost two hundred wolves from the Blue Moon clan will be in attendance to support Giselle, since Danica was the daughter of the former gamma of their pack.

As the front door connecting to the outside world opened, I quickly snuck away before anyone could notice my presence.

I returned to the kitchen to help Jess finish the food preparation. I helped her make some pastries and fruit punch.

Luna Danica ordered the main dishes from a five-star restaurant in the area, so there wasn't much to do after the pastries.

It was past 7 pm and the ceremony was in progress. I could hear the sound of soft music booming through the speakers in the hall.

I went about my business intending to finish early to get a long night's rest. I washed the dirty dishes, cleaned the surfaces in the kitchen, and then I started sweeping the kitchen when disgusting voice of Alpha Chase disturbed my peaceful night.

"I'm back as promised, barbie doll." His husky voice startled me. " You've been working so hard, doll!. it's about time you rested. " The hair on the back of my neck became straight and my body tensed up as he got closed breathing down my neck.

"No need to be nervous doll!”Alpha Chase chuckled. " I don't bite.....not hard anyways. "

I gulped and refused to turn as I placed the broom against the down cabinet.

"I plan to ask Alpha Raymond to give you to me as a mating gift.... what do you say? Do you like that barbie doll?" His inhumane remarks made me turn to face him.

Is this crazy alpha for real??

me.... a gift?

Who does he think he is? And how does he see me?

a property he could own? a plaything? This nonsense must stop. I have been quietly tolerating his nonsense for far too long.

It's time I stopped being timid and tolerant.

My eyes glared at him, firing him with all the hateful glares in the world.

Alpha Chase was a well-built man with short brown hair and dark eyes. He was a lady's man. The kind of guy that gives women wet dreams. He was in front of me in a white tux that fitted him well.

"Like what you see??" He purred into my ears and grabbed my waist like he owns my body. " I'm here to fulfill the promise I made to you in the morning. There is no one here. The floor is empty. It's just you and I, " he smirked. " I am going to make you scream my name three straight hours as I fuck you hard and deep. "

I swallowed hard. I was getting restless and uneasy. Chase has made this kind of threat so many times in the past but he never acted on them, but the look in his eyes now, was making me uneasy.

He looked serious.

I need to leave before things get out of hand. Before I could escape from him, his fingers moved to my throat and he grabbed it.

Every cell in my body was screaming and telling me to run for my life, to get as far away from him as possible, but my legs were numb, they refused to obey my mind.

Moreover, I couldn't speak. We were alone for an hour and even if I threw glasses and utensils on the ground, Jess wouldn't hear my cry for help because she was deaf.

I did my best to be still as he wrapped his arms around my neck, looking deep into my terrified eyes.

Suddenly, he grabbed my chin and crashed his lips against mine. He ran his tongue over my lips seeking entry, but I tightened my lips together. It took me a few seconds to gain control over my muscles and I managed to push him away, afraid someone would walk in and misinterpret the situation.

I was in enough trouble and I was trying to avoid another.

I briskly moved away from him in the opposite direction.

"You can run, doll." He chuckled." … but you can never hide from me.....You're mine!” his eyes glowed as he rumbled.

Horrified, I ran out of the kitchen. However, I didn't get far as Alpha Chase gripped my arm and smashed my back against the wall, just below the stairs.

Pain shot through my back, erupting a whimper out of my mouth. And his lips came crashing down on mine for the second time.

He had me firmly against the wall, leaving no room for me to struggle or retaliate.

"What de’fuck is going on here? " A gasp first came, followed by yelling from Giselle.

" Chase!??"

" Shit!" Alpha Chase cussed and finally released me, dropping me on the floor.

"I can't believe this...." she slapped her forehead in disbelief. " You fucking whore! I warned you against my mate! Keep your eyes away from my mate."

I scoffed. When Chase was the one eye fucking me. She was just too butt hurt to see alpha Chase prefer me to her, even in my ugly made uniform.

" It's not what you think!" Alpha Chase rumbled. " She came at me, Giselle. You remember I told you I wanted to use the washroom. When she saw me she attacked my lips and you came before I could push her away."

I gasped.

"Silly bastard!" I screamed with rage in my head. " That's not what happened? Tell her the truth asshole!"

"You slutty girl, boyfriend snatcher! You are going to regret glancing and coming at my mate. I will make sure you regret your actions. " Giselle snarled in anger and her fist connected to my cheek.

" You will pay for this! You hear me! I will make you pay!" she lifted her hand with her knuckles molded into a fist ready to strike me. I grabbed her fist in my hand.

I pushed her backward as she made it to the ground. I wasted no time and I escaped from them.

" I will kill you tonight, Raven." She threatened. " Dad must hear of this."

I headed straight to my room and found Jess lodging on her bed. She quickly sat up on the bed when she saw the panicked look on my face and watched me pace around the room.

Everything in me screamed at me, to get out of the house. I knew out there about it. I had to get as far as I could from Giselle and my father.

I hastily took my small school bag, the same one l used when I was in preschool and dumped the few clothes I owned with Jessica's.

And without time to explain, I grabbed Jessica's hand and hauled her to the window. She slapped my hand away to get my attention and I grabbed her hand again, pulling her after me.

In frustration, she yanked her hand from my grip and signed, demanding an explanation in the most aggressive way possible.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you in a hurry? Why are you behaving like a psycho? Why did you pack our things into a bag?"

"I don't have time to explain. We have to go now, Jess." I replied.

"No, tell me what you did and who we're running from?"

"As I said, I don't have time to explain, Jess. I will tell you when we are at a safe distance." I signed, getting frustrated at her persistence.

"Where is she? Where is that disgraceful girl?" My dad's voice boomed as his heavy footsteps echoed. That was when I knew I was in deep Shit!

Fuck you, Alpha Chase.
