Casey’s POV:It hurts. Why does it hurt? CHAPTER SEVENCasey’s POV“What is going on?” I ask Danny, who doesn’t answer me after the millionth time.“Danny,” I call, but he keeps walking. I follow behind his steps, almost stumbling down the flight of stairs as he exited the room, leading all the way down the dirty kitchen.He walked over the door in the diner, reaching for the handles and slamming the doors shut right in a customer’s face.“Danny!”With a growl, he spins to me. “He rejected you!” I gasped, freezing instantly in my spot.“Wh-What do you mean?” I stuttered.His chest was heaving and his eyes, oddly, were black. CHAPTER EIGHTCasey’s POVI looked out the windows. I was still in Danny’s passenger seat, following close behind Pixie and the boys’ flashy pick up truck.Suddenly, they screeched to a stop. And my heart almost leapt right out of my chest when wolves from opposite directions came swinging in, stopping in front of the truck. I popped my head out when Danny screamed.“Casey watch out!” I heard him shout making me jerk back in my seat right before a naked man, and I repeat, naked, tried to bite my head off the damn window.My heart was beating so hard and fast I thought it might implode, and I suck in deep, rugged breaths in and out.“They’re called border guards. CHAPTER TENTHREE YEARS AGOCasey’s POVMy hands were shaking as I moved grabbing all my things and stuffing them up in one bag.I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up around my eyes no matter how many times I wipe them away. My eyesight was blurry with tears. The pain was becoming unbearable.I hear the door suddenly open, but that didn’t stop me from grabbing and shoving my things into my bag.“Casey?”I bit my lip. I wonder if you’re still as tough after yesterday,”I hear the sound of chains rattle, the loud bolt of the steel door as he lets the metal of his chain drag heavily against the ground. And he’s coming towards me.I chuckled lowly, “Well if it isn’t my lovely tormentor, Xavier,”A soft click came from the inescapable steel door to my cell, followed by several loud jolts and one final click that has me closing my eyes. They were beaten badly from yesterday’s feat and I could only see sixty percent of my surroundings. I smile bitterly, raising my head and slowly trying to open my eyes to realize Xavier was standing right in front of me. CHAPTER THIRTEENCasey’s POVThree years ago, I found out that werewolves living amongst humans was real through my very own best friends, Pixie and Evvie.As crazy as it sounded, I never thought it could get even crazier as it is.Mates? A moon goddess? Some hierarchy of authority to live by and obey for the rest of your life? An Alpha perfectly capable to manipulate your memories, and actions as I have been told, oh what was it, an Alpha command? And I thought vampires are the ones only capable of erasing memories, not werewolves.I guess not all is just as it seems.A gust of wind suddenly interrupts my thoughts, swishing past the open space between the glass windows and creeping unceremoniously onto my bare skin.
