Casey’s POV:It hurts. Why does it hurt? It makes no sense at all, and yet the pain that suddenly ripped through me feels so real.I collapse on the bed, my entire body shaking.“What is happening to her?” From the corner of my eye, I see Danny move quickly to my side. A panicked look in his eyes as he stared at me, not knowing what to do.I close my eyes shut as another scream tore out of me. My heart skyrockets in my chest and my body convulses. I seem to have no control.“She’s in shock, move aside,”“Casey, look at me,”“Open your eyes, Casey,”Mixed voices reach my ears but I am unable to focus on anything else other than the insufferable pain eating at me from the inside.I have no clue what is happening, why this is happening, but I’m sure it has a lot to do with the name Pixie just mentioned. Why?Why does my body react this way to that name?Who the hell is he?The questions grew louder in my head just as the same pair of glowing violet eyes that’s been haunting me in my drea
CHAPTER SEVENCasey’s POV“What is going on?” I ask Danny, who doesn’t answer me after the millionth time.“Danny,” I call, but he keeps walking. I follow behind his steps, almost stumbling down the flight of stairs as he exited the room, leading all the way down the dirty kitchen. He walked over the door in the diner, reaching for the handles and slamming the doors shut right in a customer’s face.“Danny!”With a growl, he spins to me. “He rejected you!” I gasped, freezing instantly in my spot.“Wh-What do you mean?” I stuttered. His chest was heaving and his eyes, oddly, were black. It reminded me of his wolf.“He rejected you, and if he did, it’s only a matter of time,”“You’re not making any sense, Danny,”“You’ll understand when you see him, now go pack your shit or I’ll do it for you,”“No, make me understand. Please, Danny… I need to know,” I say, looking at him.Danny sighs, running a hand down his face before turning to me. His one hand rested on my shoulder, squeezing it.“W
CHAPTER EIGHTCasey’s POVI looked out the windows. I was still in Danny’s passenger seat, following close behind Pixie and the boys’ flashy pick up truck.Suddenly, they screeched to a stop. And my heart almost leapt right out of my chest when wolves from opposite directions came swinging in, stopping in front of the truck. I popped my head out when Danny screamed.“Casey watch out!” I heard him shout making me jerk back in my seat right before a naked man, and I repeat, naked, tried to bite my head off the damn window. My heart was beating so hard and fast I thought it might implode, and I suck in deep, rugged breaths in and out.“They’re called border guards. They—”“Guard the border? Yeah, Danny, I’m getting it now,” I snapped, cutting him off, and he looked at me.“Sorry, all of this is just so overwhelming,”Danny doesn’t say anything, just nods, turning his gaze to the naked man standing right by my door. I momentarily let my eyes wander back to him, only to squeeze them shut
CHAPTER NINECasey’s POV“You’re pregnant!” I beam at her, a wide smile spreading on my face.Evvie glanced down at her belly for a second before smiling back up at me.“How far along are you?” I asked.“Around four months,” she shrugs, “Come on, let’s get you inside,” She ushered and I nod, following her into the same mansion she called ‘pack house’. It made sense, since the house was literally big enough to fit a whole pack. Though I’m not sure how many they are here. From the number of people I passed before getting here, I lost count.“Oh, this is…?” Evvie moved her gaze from me to Danny.“Oh, he’s my uncle, Danny,” I introduced him, nudging him with my elbow when he stood stiffly, looking all gruff. I rolled my eyes when he gave me a pointed look but was instantly relieved he extended out his hand to her.“Pleasure to meet you, luna”Evvie smiles politely at him and shakes his hand.“Come, have a seat,” she ushered us all in and we all take a seat in the spacious living room whic
CHAPTER TENTHREE YEARS AGOCasey’s POVMy hands were shaking as I moved grabbing all my things and stuffing them up in one bag.I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up around my eyes no matter how many times I wipe them away. My eyesight was blurry with tears. The pain was becoming unbearable.I hear the door suddenly open, but that didn’t stop me from grabbing and shoving my things into my bag.“Casey?”I bit my lip. It was Evvie. Not now. I can’t.“Casey, what are you doing?” she tried again but I couldn’t bring myself to speak. At the moment, it felt as though my heart was being ripped out of my chest. It rendered me mute.I gave the room one last look before zipping up my bag. Turning around, I am met by a pair of sparkling silver eyes.“Casey, can you please talk to me?” Her eyes brimmed with tears. I hastily shook my head, squeezing the handle of my bag.My head hung low before her and I began to sob.A pair of warm, soft hands covered me a second after, making me drop my bag
Casey’s POV“No,” I state, my voice loud and clear. He wants nothing to do with me, and I want nothing to do with him.“Casey…” Pixie’s soft, whispery voice reached me, but I was not having it.“Please, excuse me,” I stood abruptly, darting towards the doors. My hands gripped the door handle when Danny’s voice sliced into my head.‘You leave that door and you’ll regret it,’ Danny warns, and I chuckle.I already regret coming here. What do I have to lose?“You’re putting your life at risk,” Alpha Logan’s words boomed across the hall, and I froze. It is hard to escape when there is a death threat hanging over my head.Pursing my lips into a line, I spin on my heel to see all of them staring after me. The Alpha standing at the center of them all.My lips quivered as I returned their curious gaze.My eyes then moved to Evvie, who gave me a pleading look I couldn’t resist or look away from.“Please…” She mimed, yet I could hear her voice echo in my head as if she’s desperately reaching out
CHAPTER TWELVECarlos’ POV“Well, well. I wonder if you’re still as tough after yesterday,”I hear the sound of chains rattle, the loud bolt of the steel door as he lets the metal of his chain drag heavily against the ground. And he’s coming towards me.I chuckled lowly, “Well if it isn’t my lovely tormentor, Xavier,”A soft click came from the inescapable steel door to my cell, followed by several loud jolts and one final click that has me closing my eyes. They were beaten badly from yesterday’s feat and I could only see sixty percent of my surroundings. I smile bitterly, raising my head and slowly trying to open my eyes to realize Xavier was standing right in front of me. His legs spread wide.Xavier, my tormentor, is a huge man with a tanned body that made him look like he had been body building all his life. Dark moustache surrounded his mouth, enhancing his gruff appearance all the more. He had long hair tied up neatly into a ponytail, and his age I’m guessing would be around mid
CHAPTER THIRTEENCasey’s POVThree years ago, I found out that werewolves living amongst humans was real through my very own best friends, Pixie and Evvie. As crazy as it sounded, I never thought it could get even crazier as it is.Mates? A moon goddess? Some hierarchy of authority to live by and obey for the rest of your life? An Alpha perfectly capable to manipulate your memories, and actions as I have been told, oh what was it, an Alpha command? And I thought vampires are the ones only capable of erasing memories, not werewolves.I guess not all is just as it seems.A gust of wind suddenly interrupts my thoughts, swishing past the open space between the glass windows and creeping unceremoniously onto my bare skin. I shiver. Looking down, goosebumps arose across my skin. I had just taken a shower, sitting on the edge of the bed near the window not realizing I have spaced out for over half an hour, lost in thought.Standing up, I walk over to the window with the intention to close it.
