One day, while I was outside playing with my youngest siblings, Michael came out as usual, grumbling about some trivial chores. His irritation was palpable, and I could sense that his anger toward me had been simmering for a while.

I grew tired of his nagging, so I attempted to walk away, but he grabbed me and pulled me back forcefully.

“You little punk,” he spat, his voice dripping with disdain. “You should be thanking me for giving you a place to stay, you ingrate. I could have told your mother not to bring you here with her. I’ve been looking after you since you were a child, yet I get nothing in return. Disrespectful brat. Don’t you know how to show a little bit of appreciation, at least?”

I shot him a defiant look as he continued to berate me, his words stinging with each accusation.
