Few days later...
"So how did that go for you?" I asked Fiona with a mocking grin. She was relaying a funny story of how she had embarrassed herself in front of her crush in eighth grade.
"No fair, you're supposed to empathize with me." She pouted. I chuckled.
"I can't help it, the story is hilarious." It truly was.
We were seated at the dining table having lunch and chattering away. It was just us in the house, everyone else had gone out for one thing or the other. Fiona did not want me getting lonely without her brother so she decided to keep me company. Little did she know that I was glad that he was not anywhere in sight.
That man was just too irritable for his own good and he was just as annoying.
But irresistibly hot too, don't you think? My conscience said to me. I smacked her with my palm. We agreed to not entertain
It was Saturday and I had officially spent a week being married, I released a sigh at the thought. I had gone around the whole house the previous day and I found an indoor gym, I assumed that was where Damien worked out because he had such a well sculpted body. I figured it would be a great way to pass time and keep my body in shape. I was currently in the bathroom, wrapping my hair up in a towel when I heard Aleena's voice from outside. "Come on Dee, why do you have to go to work today? It's Saturday!" She whined in a childlike manner. I did not hear what he said to her but my curiousity got the better part of me and I came out of the bathroom only to see Aleena sitting on our, I mean, Damien's bed while he arranged a few documents and carried his laptop apparently about to leave for the office. Aleena spotted me as soon as I came out and she gave me a wide grin. "Good morning, Ariana." She bade. "Good morning, how was your night, Aleena?" I said to her. "Fine, thank you." She
I hiccuped severally as I cried, leaning my back on the bathroom door. I did not know how long I had been there but I was sure it was a really long time. Damien rapped on my door for a while, asking-more like commanding- me to open up but I did not move an inch. He gave up eventually and left. I heard him storm out of the room, slamming the door behind him. I flinched at the sound. I never thought that things would escalate to this point. Well this was our first major fight as a married couple, the rest were just trivial squabbles. But somehow I knew that this was nothing compared to the ones to come in due time. I cried because it hurt so bad after he threw my phone into the pool. It was actually a gift from Nolan and it was just a few months old. It was so special to me. Nolan thought to buy me a new phone for my birthday because my old phone had packed up on my birth week and my father was admitted in the hospital back then so I could not go about getting a replacement conside
I sat up on my bed and looked around the room. His side of the bed was untouched. There was hardly any sign of him being present all through the night. I wondered if he had slept in his study or some other bedroom. I even imagined him going to sleep in Aleena's room in the West Wing of the mansion but I discarded the thought, Damien never went in there, I had never seen him over there. I shrugged off whatever thoughts I had of him, it was way too early to be thinking of him, especially because he was not a good person. I slowly slid out of the bed and trudged into the bathroom to ease myself. After that, I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I was just coming out of the bathroom when a knock came through the door. "Come in." I said aloud and watched in silence as the person turned the knob on the door and walked in. "Good morning Mr Walter." I said with a soft smile, the old man returned it. His eyes crinkled at the sides as he smiled. "Good morning Mrs Kingston." He said. I had
Damien's POV****"Did you deliver it?" I questioned."Yes sir." Miguel said enthusiastically."Good. Keep an eye on her every move in my absence and report to me accordingly." I hung up the phone immediately.I dug my hand into my left pant pocket while I walked towards the balcony of my hotel suite. I leaned against the door frame, looking out into the busy city.I had left for Italy after receiving an urgent business call, I was here to sort it out. Ariana was nowhere to be seen when I got into the room to get prepared. My jet was ready so I had to leave without telling her anything.I was well aware that calling her was impossible because she did not have a phone, no thanks to me. I knew she must have abhorred me even more than before after my fit of rage. I could not face her because I did not like seeing women cry, it was just not something nice to see.I did not plan on throwin
Ariana's POV;I was actually enjoying my new phone. The day I got it, I stayed up in the bedroom checking out its features. Fiona came in and convinced me to take a few pictures just to see how good the camera was. She said I looked too good to not take a picture and disturb the internet with it, her words not mine. I only wanted a few photos but Fiona made me take so many and in the end only picked out a few to post. We made some videos as well and when I eventually posted, the likes and comments were unstoppable. I read through a few comments and saw that people thought that married life looked good on me. I snorted. If only they knew. I sighed and yawned tiredly. I had been on my new laptop all morning, preparing my curriculum vitae. I was looking for a job because I had been idle for so long and it was about time I put my degree to use. I had a degree in Economics from NYU and I just finished my college education the previous year. Owing to the erratic condition of my father's he
Third Person POV;Aleena sat back in the West Wing of Damien's mansion staring into space. She looked around the guest room designated to her, she loathed it. Not because it was not a beautiful place, because it was just as luxurious as any other room in the mansion, but she wanted to be in none other than Damien's bedroom. She hated the fact that he had gotten married to someone that was not her and even worse, a middle class woman like Ariana. It made no sense to her how he would stoop so low and get married to a nobody when she was right there loving him tirelessly from day one.She had thrown a major tantrum when Tracy had called to inform her of Damien's engagement which she had discarded as a rumor she saw on the internet. She wanted to rush down to Los Angeles immediately but her shooting schedule back in the Maldives did not let her. She called Damien but it all went to voi
Ariana's POV;I was seated at the balcony working on my laptop as usual. It had been about a week and there was still not a word from Damien. I was not in any way surprised about his actions though, plus it's not like I wanted to speak to him anyway.I stepped inside the room to get something - a pillow for my aching back. I had been seated in one position for hours and I was not in the mood to lie down so taking a pillow was the next best option.I heard a slight rapping on the door so I halted in my movement just to be sure I was not assuming anything.I heard the sound again but louder this time, that was cue to walk over to the door and pull it open."Hi.""Oh, uh, hi Aleena." I said, wondering what she wanted this time."Can I come in?" She requested."Hmm okay..." I said and sidestepped for her to get in. She flipped around as soon as she entered while I push
I stared up at the tall building as I got down from the vehicle. The ride took about fourty five minutes from the house so it was quite a distance, it was a good thing I left quite early. I walked in and said hello to the receptionist at the lobby who responded with a warm smile. I informed her about my reason for being there and she directed me to take a seat. There was not a lot of people seated, just about five of them so I guessed I still had a good chance. The wait lasted for nearly an hour and it seemed like everyone else was being drilled thoroughly in their interviews. I swallowed, suddenly nervous. "Ma'am, you can go in now." The receptionist said to me and I stood up, adjusted the hardly present creases on my skirt before walking. I followed her direction and the next thing I knew, I found a mahogany door that fit the description the receptionist had given me. I knocked and waited for a reply whilst rocking back and forth on my heels. "Come in." I heard a male voice
