“Thank you,” he stated.
“For what?”
“For sticking with me during such hard time.”
“You don’t need to thank me.” I smiled.
“You should know that no matter what, I will be there for you. Always.”
He smiled genuinely.
“Here you go!” Linc gave us our cups of coffees.“Thanks, man,” Raf stated and started drinking.
We were there in silence, until doctor came and stated:“Mr. King, you don’t have to worry anymore! Your granny is alright for now. But she doesn’t have to worry anymore! That’s the reason of her fainting! In the evening she can be discharged!”
“Thank you very much, doctor,” he stated and came back to us. “God! I feel so relieved!” He sat near us again.
“See! I told you!” I affirmed.
He nodded and smiled.
&lWhen I came home, I didn’t say anything and went straight to bed. In the morning, I woke up at six A.M. and decided not to go for a walk. I didn’t want to meet him, nor I wanted to meet Ashley and grandma. But as usually, grandma started waking everyone up. I heard everyone coming out of the rooms. But I kept laying on my bed. Then I heard grandma coming in to my room and screaming:“Kylie! Wake up!”But I turned away to another side and closed my eyes.“Are you sick, dear?” she asked, worried.“I am not going for a walk,” I stated calmly, not opening my eyes.“Why?”“Because I don’t want to walk with a woman who doesn’t believe me,” I answered quietly.“Kylie! Why are you so stubborn? You are not giving Ashley even a chance to show her kind side!”“I gave her a chance, but she made it clear, that she was beha
“Gram,” Raf whispered.“Sorry, dear! I just wanted to check on your dad,” Agatha apologized.“No! Everything is okay! It’s just still painful for me to think about it. My dad is fine. All of us are still hurt because the absence of mom, however we try to hold up,” I answered and smiled.“That’s good!”“Thank you very much for your cookies and tea, but I have to go!” I went to the doors. “Goodbye! Have a nice day!” I left their house, walking automatically. In fact, I was afraid that I would cry. I didn’t like others to see me in this state. But Raf ran after me.“Peanut, are you okay?” he asked, as he approached me.“Yes...” I trailed off. “You know what? Nothing is okay. It hurts every time someone mentions her. It still looks like a nightmare for me. And the thing is I really want to stop this feeling!”
It was already our time to leave, so Linc put our bags in the trunk.“Visit me more often!” grandma said and kissed us.“Of course we will!” I exclaimed and hugged her tightly.“I will miss you!” Bella cried.“Bella! Come on! Don’t cry. We will see each other soon!” I laughed and hugged her. Neither me nor Lincoln went to Ashley to say goodbye. We were fed up with her sticking all those attempts to hurt us out. Even her voice made my blood boil and I didn’t want to see her ever again. I felt like freedom was coming to me. I wasn’t planning on meeting her soon. We sat in the car and I waved to granny and Bella. Then, we left.“Where were you?” Linc asked me and smiled.“Ohh! I had so much fun!” I started. He smiled again. I started telling him about how Raf and I put the signs on the people’s cars. He started laughing.&ld
When teacher turned to the board, continuing explaining, all of the students started laughing loudly. I felt like I was the one, who did that, somehow. “What? Why are you laughing?” Mr. Adams asked, bewildered. Nobody answered and we continued laughing. I couldn’t help, but laugh too. Then, Raf came in and was still laughing. “Oh, Mr. Adams! Someone glued the sign to your back! Poor you! Why are you laughing, guys? Something like that could happen to everyone!” Raf mumbled and laughed. Mr. Adams took the sign and read it. “Raffael King! This is your doing, right?” teacher screamed. “Me?! No chance in hell!” he laughed and tried to keep a straight face. “Detention!” he screamed and Raf sat back near me. “Look! You are helping someone and then they are screaming and punishing you! This is so ungrateful!” Raf claimed. Everyone continued guffawing. “Hush!” I whispered, but still was laughing.
“I can’t believe him!” Dylan started.“I mean, he doesn’t do relationships and now he is dating with that slut. Are you kidding me!” Linc maintained.I felt Mia’s hand on my shoulder.“Kylie, are you okay?” she asked me.“This has an explanation! I’m sure! He wouldn’t hurt me after our conversation!” I stated.“But it’s true! Kylie, I know that you are probably looking for an excuse. You like him, but I guess, you have to forget about him,” she whispered, but even in this crowd, I heard it very clearly and loudly.“Mia, I have already told you that I don’t like him! It’s just wrong that he is dating with my enemy, but he can date whoever he wants!” I smiled.“As long as you deny, you will get hurt even more.”“Listen, I will talk to him and scope this out. I am sure, that it’s not what
I looked up and saw Raf looking at our hands and then turning his gaze on me. I shook my head, narrowed my eyes and went to my seat. In fact, my seat was next to Raf, but there was Charlotte. I sat far from them with James. “Why did you do it?” I asked James, not taking my gaze from the copybook.“Well, firstly, I couldn’t make you talk to me another way. Secondly, it made him furious!” James whispered.“Are you blind? It didn’t make him furious at all! He doesn’t care! He is dating Charlotte!” I splashed out my anger.“Is it a problem for you?” He smirked.“No!”“Good, because as I said, you are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, and I won’t let someone else solve your mystery!” James exclaimed and backed at the spine of the chair, crossing his hands across the chest. The flash creeped across my cheeks and I stopped tal
When I opened my eyes, I saw Raf and James standing above me. I looked around and saw that I was in the first-aid post.“What happened?” I asked, as I felt a splitting headache killing me.“You got your head hit,” nurse stated.“Are you okay?” Raf asked me.“I’m fine! Now excuse me, I have lessons to attend,” I answered, as I remembered the fight.“Wait! You need to lie a little bit more,” James added.“I don’t care. I am fine,” I answered and wanted to get up, but my ache got worse.“Ouch!” I stated.“See? You need to stay here!” Raf claimed.“What are you doing here? Go back to your girlfriend and stay away from me,” I whispered. He crossed his arms across the chest and looked down.“I will get better! I can’t sit here until my ache stops!” I exclaimed and got up, a lit
“Hey, Kylie!” I heard a familiar voice. It was James.“God! You startled me! What are you doing here?” I asked him, heavily breathing.“Grace asked me to give you a lift!”“Oh, well!” “So you stopped hating me, right?” he asked me.“Well, I hate you less now.” I laughed and he giggled.“This is the progress!” he exclaimed. “You understand that I didn’t do anything wrong, right? This was his parents’ choice.”I didn’t say anything and looked out the window. When we arrived, we went inside the house.“Hey, Kylie!” Grace greeted, as she opened the doors.“Hi, Grace!” I answered. We hugged each other.“Come in!”We went to the living room.“Kylie!” Mason, Logan, Liam and Alexa screamed.“Hey, guys!” I said and
“Are you serious?” I asked shocked. He nodded and pulled me to the helicopter. “But what about our friends and family?” I continued. “The plane will take them! Let’s go!” he yelled and we went inside. “We are going to be pilots, Mrs. King to be,” Raf stated. “Really?!” I asked shocked. He nodded and I ran to the pilot seat and put the headphones on which I found there. He sat on the other seat. The whole flight I had a big smile plastered on my face. I was so happy. It seemed like that whole day was about surprises, shock and happiness. That what my life has been consisted of, since we became a couple. But now we are going to be a wife and a husband! As we landed the helicopter, we saw the plane landing too. It was the rented plane for our guests. The car arrived and we went to the registry office. I wouldn’t tell you how it was, but as we were engaged, we were about to go to the wedding. It was too fast and unexpected
10 years later...“Mommy!” I heard a thin voice calling me.“Daddy!” the other one continued. I woke up and so did Raf.“Merry Christmas!” I said sleepily and took Isabelle on the bed.“Merry Christmas!” Raf exclaimed and took Adam on the bed.“Are you ready to unwrap your gifts?” I asked kids.“Yes!” they screamed in unison and ran out of our room. Raf and I chuckled and turned to face each other.“Merry Christmas, Peanut!” he exclaimed, rubbing his finger on my cheek.“Merry Christmas!” I exclaimed and kissed him.“Let’s go?”“Yes, but wait a little bit!”“Do you remember Christmas 6 years ago?” I asked, laughing.“It’s hard to forget.” He chuckled. 6 years ago...“Ky
She nodded.“The surgery went successfully! She is cancer free! Congratulations!” doctor exclaimed. We breathed out. It was a great relief.“Thank you, Doctor! You saved our grandma!” dad exclaimed and shook his hand.“It’s my job! I’m happy to give you such news!” he continued and left. All of us hugged immediately. We were very happy. I couldn’t be more excited. A lot of things got better and it seemed like every other problem became nothing.“Dad, how many days should she stay in the hospital?” I asked.“4-7 days. I think everything will be alright. They just need to look after her, so the diseases don’t come back,” dad answered.“Okay.” I nodded.“But you have to go back to Spain.”“What?! I can’t leave my granny!”“We will look after her! It’s more than enough.
Next day was a great and a scary one. Granny had to get her operation done. We were happy about her getting rid of cancer, but of course, every surgery without exception was regarded as a dangerous and a serious one. But that morning was a happy different and the best one. I woke up, understanding that soon Raf was going to come and there wouldn’t be an awkward silence or the pain beating in the chest, because of the unspoken words. There would be his hugs, support, love and the knowledge of his feelings for me. That was what I had been craving for since my mom died. I needed the person who would take care of me, understand and love me, the same way, she did once. And Raf appeared to be that person. People say, that there are parts in the world. They are divided at first, but the goal of the life is to find the lost half of your heart and soul. Ras was the one. He found the key to my heart which was lost and have never been found till
When we arrived at the same beach, as I was in the end of the last summer, it was evening. Soon would be the sunset, the way we wanted. The wind was warm but strong. Uncle took from the bag a blanket and put it down on the sand. We sat on it. “We brought some food!” dad exclaimed and took the basket full of food out of his trunk.“When did you manage to do it?” granny asked.“While you were playing in the amusement park, we ordered the food,” uncle explained.”It’s amazing!” I exclaimed. We started eating. There were a lot of sandwiches, bottles of coke, a big plate of salad and a huge cake. When we finished eating, Raf whispered:“Can we talk?”I nodded and he helped me to get up. I wanted to talk to him today too. And it was the best place and time for that conversation. We went a little bit farther and decided to go behind the huge stone.
I went downstairs and sat at the table. There wasn’t Raf. We started eating. I was thinking of the words I had to tell him. Maybe I was stupid, but it meant a lot for me. It was the first time I had ever fallen in love with someone and something told me that it was the last time. I needed to know if it was a reciprocated love. When we were done, we went outside to sit in the car. There was Raf. He was like always sitting on his motorbike. Everyone sat in the car and I sat next to him on the bike. We were driving to the park. I wasn’t distancing myself, I took a hold of his waist and put my head on his back. He looked at me, surprised of my action. Yes, I was confusing. One second I could run I away, but the next second I would pull him in my embrace. And I hoped he would be the only one who understood me. When we arrived to the park, we parked the car and bike and went inside.“I want to ride on carousel!” grandma sc
“Yes,” he answered.“But she said, that she wasn’t,” I said.“That’s for you to be okay. But I can see, how nervous she is. She is scared of dying, and it’s understandable,” dad said.“But is it dangerous?” I asked.“Every surgery is dangerous. But I’m sure that nothing bad will happen with her.”“That’s why she wants to have some fun, before it?” Linc asked.Uncle and dad nodded.“She wants to get distracted. And she wants to spend a lot of time with you, because she thinks that she won’t survive,” uncle added. “But we will make that day the best one. She has to relax and stop being nervous. Can’t it make everything worse?” I asked.“In some way yes, but don’t worry! Tomorrow we’ll make sure she will have a lot of fun. She will completely forget about her
Next day, we had to go the doctor’s appointment. It looked like she had to get her first chemotherapy. I woke up at 7:30 and started getting ready. I wore a pair of jeans, white T-shirt and trainers. I made a ponytail and put on some gloss. I went downstairs and saw guys sitting on the couch with grandma. Uncle and dad were cooking breakfast. I sat on the couch and joined the conversation. I noticed that Raf wasn’t there. Probably, he went home last night.“Good morning!” I said.“Good morning!” everyone said back.“What are you talking about?”“Nothing interesting,” grandma answered.I nodded. I knew exactly that they were lying, but I didn’t want to push it. When breakfast was ready, we sat together at the table and started eating. Everybody was silent. I guess they were tensed about the chemotherapy. We knew that everything would change. Her hai
He looked at his computer and started analyzing the results.“There is a pice of good news! It’s the first stage. It can be recovered. You just have to get some chemistry procedures and then the surgery will help you get better.”All of us breathed out.“How many procedures will there be?” I asked.“We can’t tell the exact amount, but not much,” he answered.“When can we start?” dad asked.“Come tomorrow at nine A.M.,” he said.“Thank you, Doctor,” dad stated and shook his hand.Uncle did the same. Then we left the hospital. “Don’t you want some ice cream?” granny asked us.“I do,” Linc answered.“Me too! Boys, buy some ice cream for us,” she tuned to uncle and dad.“Your wish is our command!” dad said.“We will go home! It’s such a fresh ai
