24 hours after the party:
“He...he...” I started shocked and nearly crying, having that spine-chilling picture imprinted on my mind.“Please, calm down, Ms. Walker! Tell us, what he did?” the police officer asked.
“He wanted to rape me!” I screamed, my voice echoing around the room, and started crying.
48 hours before the party:It was 6 A.M in the morning. I had to get up and got ready for school. Mia was discharged from the hospital yesterday in the evening. She asked me to come to her and she wanted to drive us to school.60 hours before the party:I got the call from Mia in the evening, when Raf took me home. I was about to fall asleep, when she called me.“Hey, Ky!” she started.“Mia? Do you know what time it is now?” I asked her sleepily, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.“It&rs“Hey,” I stated and went back to reiterating my homework. He was on his phone. “Why aren’t you repeating? You will get a bad mark, teacher hates you!”“Why are you worrying about me?” he asked, as he got closer.I sat a little bit farther from him and answered:“I don’t! I am thinking about teacher. She will get annoyed because of you, again!” I explained and trailed off.“I don’t worry about Spanish. It’s my second native language. I’m half Spanish, remember? I know it better than the teacher!” he stated and went back to his phone. Then we had literature. The topic was classic genre.“Which English authors you can name from classic genre?” Mr. Adams asked. I raised my hand, but so did Raf, which caught me off guard.“Raf, please name them!” teacher asked.“Jane Austen, sisters Bron
14 hours before the party:I was in the dark basement.“Hello!” I called, but nobody answered. “Is anybody here?” I continued going through some dark, narrow corridor.“Kylie...” I heard whispers.“Who is here?” I asked.“Kylie, don’t be scared! I’m here!” the voice echoed in my ears.I didn’t say anything.“Kylie! Kylie! Stop! Don’t listen! Don’t go! It’s a trap!” I heard my mom’s voice.“Mom? What?! What are you talking about?”The unknown voice started laughing. I had goosebumps covering my skin. I was scared, but I continued walking further. I didn’t know why.“Kylie! I love you!” I heard Mom’s voice again.“Mom? I love you too! I miss you so much! Do you hear me?” I screamed. Then I started hearing
“Nothing! Kylie, sweet dreams!” he answered and chuckled quietly. He started kissing me, then my neck.“Steven?” I continued asking, but all he did was kiss me.I understood that I was in trouble. The problem was, that I was blinded by his story to understand that everything was a big lie.“Steven!” I used all of my energy to push him away. But he grabbed my wrists and pulled them against the bed.“Stop, Kylie! Why aren’t you sleeping? Aren’t you a good girl?” he continued whispering.I started panicking. God, what should I do? My eyes started closing, but I wasn’t going to give up. I kicked him below the belt. He was hurt and I won some time, because I crawled to the bathroom and locked the doors. I had my phone with me, thank God. I was worn out and I couldn’t stand straight, so I leaned on the table. I opened my contacts and started searching for Lin
Linc and Dylan went back to the house.“Guys, we are going with Raf! Mia, will you look after Kylie?” Linc asked her.“Of course,” she answered.“I’m coming with you,” Jeremy stated and got up.They left the house.“Where are you going?” Mia whispered to Linc.I didn’t hear the answer or maybe I was too zoned out to hear anything else. “Ky! Do you want some tea or coffee?” Mia asked me.I nodded and said:“Tea would be great!” She went to the kitchen and I decided to follow her.“Kylie, I am so sorry that Linc and I left you alone!” she started apologizing.“No! It’s not your fault! It’s mine. I guess, I am really a gullible person. I believed in the goodness in him and regretted it.”“What are you going to do?”“What
I looked around the room to see if there was anything strange. Especially, I was looking out for the weapon. But there wasn’t any. I slowly got inside the room and when I was close to him, I put my hand over his neck and started choking him little by little .“I see, you are thinking about leaving the country? Wrong move, idiot!” I stated and pulled him up.I held his collars and then hit him in the stomach. He reached to the stomach, cordoning it off because of the pain. I continued hitting his face. His nose started bleeding. He was whining.“What? Now you feel vulnerable?!” I screamed at him, resuming hitting him.He fell down and I started kicking him. “Stop! Raf, you will kill him!” Linc screamed and pulled me away.“Let’s take him to the police station!” Jeremy proposed and we nodded.Linc and I started dragging him to the car.
Yeah, what’s happened was crazy and sometimes I ponder about whether it really happened to me. Because I have only seen it in the films, series or books. But apparently, it happens in the real life as well. I was an epitome of it. We had one more week at school and then the autumn holidays would start. The whole week Raf wasn’t coming to school. I thought that probably he was shunning me. The other thought was that he had some things to do with his family. But I didn’t find out eventually. It was Friday. I woke up and the first thing I did was think if I had any problems that I had to deal with, or whether my friends were in some trouble. I checked my phone, but there weren’t any calls dismissed, nor there were new texts. I got up and went to the bathroom. I did the same things I did every day. Then I went back to my room and changed my clothes. I went downstairs and saw as always dad and Linc. We decided to keep that night
He looked at me and then answered:“Yes. Remember, when you were always locking up yourself in your room? You didn’t let anyone come in. I tried a lot of times to come, to talk. I needed someone to comfort me. But I was different from you. You preferred locking up and not letting others talk to you. I did’t consider it being normal. Because you were very depressed until this year. It was because you wanted to be alone, to deal with everything by yourself. But it’s not possible! People need each other during bad times, they somehow, ease the pain. They can’t make you forget about the death of your favourite person, now can they replace them, but they are those who keep us on the surface of the water and don’t let us go down. During the conversation, people are talking and expressing their emotions. They hope that they will talk so much that the pain will go with the words which are leaving your mouth. It’s an illusion, but it sti
It was already time for us to go to grandma. We put our packages in the trunk of the car and Linc sat down on the driver’s seat. Dad couldn’t drive us to there, because of his job, again. When we arrived, it was night, and I, apparently, fell asleep in the car.“Ky, we are here! Wake up!” Linc called me and I started opening my eyes.“What?” I asked, sleepy.“We are here,” he repeated and I fully woke up.We went out of the car and went to the trunk to take our bags. Then, we approached the doors and knocked on them. I heard footsteps quickly approaching. It was grandma and she opened the doors.“Kylie! Lincoln!” she screamed, smiling. Granny pulled us in her embrace and started checking us out. When we came into the house, she stated:“I missed you so much, kiddos! You are so beautiful and handsome. I can’t believe, how fast time flies!&rdq
“Are you serious?” I asked shocked. He nodded and pulled me to the helicopter. “But what about our friends and family?” I continued. “The plane will take them! Let’s go!” he yelled and we went inside. “We are going to be pilots, Mrs. King to be,” Raf stated. “Really?!” I asked shocked. He nodded and I ran to the pilot seat and put the headphones on which I found there. He sat on the other seat. The whole flight I had a big smile plastered on my face. I was so happy. It seemed like that whole day was about surprises, shock and happiness. That what my life has been consisted of, since we became a couple. But now we are going to be a wife and a husband! As we landed the helicopter, we saw the plane landing too. It was the rented plane for our guests. The car arrived and we went to the registry office. I wouldn’t tell you how it was, but as we were engaged, we were about to go to the wedding. It was too fast and unexpected
10 years later...“Mommy!” I heard a thin voice calling me.“Daddy!” the other one continued. I woke up and so did Raf.“Merry Christmas!” I said sleepily and took Isabelle on the bed.“Merry Christmas!” Raf exclaimed and took Adam on the bed.“Are you ready to unwrap your gifts?” I asked kids.“Yes!” they screamed in unison and ran out of our room. Raf and I chuckled and turned to face each other.“Merry Christmas, Peanut!” he exclaimed, rubbing his finger on my cheek.“Merry Christmas!” I exclaimed and kissed him.“Let’s go?”“Yes, but wait a little bit!”“Do you remember Christmas 6 years ago?” I asked, laughing.“It’s hard to forget.” He chuckled. 6 years ago...“Ky
She nodded.“The surgery went successfully! She is cancer free! Congratulations!” doctor exclaimed. We breathed out. It was a great relief.“Thank you, Doctor! You saved our grandma!” dad exclaimed and shook his hand.“It’s my job! I’m happy to give you such news!” he continued and left. All of us hugged immediately. We were very happy. I couldn’t be more excited. A lot of things got better and it seemed like every other problem became nothing.“Dad, how many days should she stay in the hospital?” I asked.“4-7 days. I think everything will be alright. They just need to look after her, so the diseases don’t come back,” dad answered.“Okay.” I nodded.“But you have to go back to Spain.”“What?! I can’t leave my granny!”“We will look after her! It’s more than enough.
Next day was a great and a scary one. Granny had to get her operation done. We were happy about her getting rid of cancer, but of course, every surgery without exception was regarded as a dangerous and a serious one. But that morning was a happy different and the best one. I woke up, understanding that soon Raf was going to come and there wouldn’t be an awkward silence or the pain beating in the chest, because of the unspoken words. There would be his hugs, support, love and the knowledge of his feelings for me. That was what I had been craving for since my mom died. I needed the person who would take care of me, understand and love me, the same way, she did once. And Raf appeared to be that person. People say, that there are parts in the world. They are divided at first, but the goal of the life is to find the lost half of your heart and soul. Ras was the one. He found the key to my heart which was lost and have never been found till
When we arrived at the same beach, as I was in the end of the last summer, it was evening. Soon would be the sunset, the way we wanted. The wind was warm but strong. Uncle took from the bag a blanket and put it down on the sand. We sat on it. “We brought some food!” dad exclaimed and took the basket full of food out of his trunk.“When did you manage to do it?” granny asked.“While you were playing in the amusement park, we ordered the food,” uncle explained.”It’s amazing!” I exclaimed. We started eating. There were a lot of sandwiches, bottles of coke, a big plate of salad and a huge cake. When we finished eating, Raf whispered:“Can we talk?”I nodded and he helped me to get up. I wanted to talk to him today too. And it was the best place and time for that conversation. We went a little bit farther and decided to go behind the huge stone.
I went downstairs and sat at the table. There wasn’t Raf. We started eating. I was thinking of the words I had to tell him. Maybe I was stupid, but it meant a lot for me. It was the first time I had ever fallen in love with someone and something told me that it was the last time. I needed to know if it was a reciprocated love. When we were done, we went outside to sit in the car. There was Raf. He was like always sitting on his motorbike. Everyone sat in the car and I sat next to him on the bike. We were driving to the park. I wasn’t distancing myself, I took a hold of his waist and put my head on his back. He looked at me, surprised of my action. Yes, I was confusing. One second I could run I away, but the next second I would pull him in my embrace. And I hoped he would be the only one who understood me. When we arrived to the park, we parked the car and bike and went inside.“I want to ride on carousel!” grandma sc
“Yes,” he answered.“But she said, that she wasn’t,” I said.“That’s for you to be okay. But I can see, how nervous she is. She is scared of dying, and it’s understandable,” dad said.“But is it dangerous?” I asked.“Every surgery is dangerous. But I’m sure that nothing bad will happen with her.”“That’s why she wants to have some fun, before it?” Linc asked.Uncle and dad nodded.“She wants to get distracted. And she wants to spend a lot of time with you, because she thinks that she won’t survive,” uncle added. “But we will make that day the best one. She has to relax and stop being nervous. Can’t it make everything worse?” I asked.“In some way yes, but don’t worry! Tomorrow we’ll make sure she will have a lot of fun. She will completely forget about her
Next day, we had to go the doctor’s appointment. It looked like she had to get her first chemotherapy. I woke up at 7:30 and started getting ready. I wore a pair of jeans, white T-shirt and trainers. I made a ponytail and put on some gloss. I went downstairs and saw guys sitting on the couch with grandma. Uncle and dad were cooking breakfast. I sat on the couch and joined the conversation. I noticed that Raf wasn’t there. Probably, he went home last night.“Good morning!” I said.“Good morning!” everyone said back.“What are you talking about?”“Nothing interesting,” grandma answered.I nodded. I knew exactly that they were lying, but I didn’t want to push it. When breakfast was ready, we sat together at the table and started eating. Everybody was silent. I guess they were tensed about the chemotherapy. We knew that everything would change. Her hai
He looked at his computer and started analyzing the results.“There is a pice of good news! It’s the first stage. It can be recovered. You just have to get some chemistry procedures and then the surgery will help you get better.”All of us breathed out.“How many procedures will there be?” I asked.“We can’t tell the exact amount, but not much,” he answered.“When can we start?” dad asked.“Come tomorrow at nine A.M.,” he said.“Thank you, Doctor,” dad stated and shook his hand.Uncle did the same. Then we left the hospital. “Don’t you want some ice cream?” granny asked us.“I do,” Linc answered.“Me too! Boys, buy some ice cream for us,” she tuned to uncle and dad.“Your wish is our command!” dad said.“We will go home! It’s such a fresh ai
