Chapter 47

Julian's POV

I kept driving through the city, my mind racing and my heart pounding. The walls around me felt like they were closing in, suffocating me with the weight of the truth I was struggling to accept. Sophie… I couldn't wrap my head around the idea that she could do something so deceitful. The evidence was glaringly clear, yet my heart refused to believe it. I felt as if I were caught in a surreal nightmare, one that I couldn’t wake up from.

Our connection had been so fast as if we had known each other for years, even in such a short time.

As I navigated the familiar streets, memories of my past flooded my mind, dragging me back to the bitter moments with Victoria. History repeated itself, and I was left grappling with the painful echoes of betrayal. The feeling of déjà vu was almost suffocating, a reminder of how easily trust could unravel.

My hands clenched the steering wheel tightly, as if it were the only thing anchoring me in this tumbulous storm of emotion

Chapter 48Sophie's POVI got down from the car and made my way to Victoria's doorstep. Pressing the doorbell, I waited, but there was no reply—only the loud noises reverberated from inside the house. I pressed the doorbell again, and still, no response.Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and stepped inside. The sight that met my eyes was shocking: Victoria was giving a guy a lap dance, lost in the rhythm of the loud music blaring from the speakers. They didn't seem to notice me as they were immersed in their moment.I walked over to the speaker and turned it off. The sudden silence drew their attention, and Victoria looked up, her face a mixture of surprise and annoyance. She got off the guy, hastily dragging down her skimpy gown."What the fuck!" she exclaimed, eyes wide."I can see you’re enjoying yourself after destroying a home," I shot back, my heart pounding."What do you mean I destroyed a home?" she asked, feigning innocence as she turned to the guy. "Leave!" He scurrie

Chapter 49Alex's POV"Let's get a divorce," I said, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions swirling inside me. Stella had just returned home from one of her usual late-night parties, and I had gathered every ounce of courage to voice the thought that had been haunting me for weeks. I was done pretending; my focus needed to be solely on Sophie and Victoria."What?" she replied, her expression a mix of shock and disbelief.I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my words. "Honestly, I have no reason to live with you. We have no kids, we don’t love each other. Our marriage is just a formality; only on paper, we didn’t even have a proper wedding. We live like strangers, and you’re seeing someone else. Nothing good has come from this so-called marriage."Stella dropped her bag on the table and sat down on the bed next to me, her fingers unbuttoning her blouse. "Did you meet your ex-girlfriend? Are you back with her?" she shot back, a hint of accusation in her tone."Nooo..." I

Chapter 49Victoria's POV"Victoria! Victoria!!" The familiar voice jolted me out of my sleep. I tried to get back to sleep, but he kept shouting and barged into my room."What is it, Alex? Can't you see it's early?" I said, the sleep still holding me down."Are you supposed to be sleeping? I can't find Sophie," he said."What's that got to do with me? Am I the one who said you should lose her? Go check her house or something, and let me sleep peacefully." I pulled the blanket over my head.He yanked the blanket off me. "I checked her house. She isn't there, and that's the only place she can be."Ah! This must be my punishment for getting involved with someone like him."Don't you know any of her friends' houses? Just go there and let me be in peace for crying out loud," I said, my voice rising."Okay," he replied, his tone low and contemplative."She came to my house last night and threatened me. Apparently, their marriage was a contract marriage," I added as Alex turned to leave. He

Chapter 51Sophie's POVIt had been three long days since I was sent out of Julian's house. The weight of my weakness bore down on me, and I couldn’t bring myself to return. Each time I thought about it, a wave of nausea washed over me. The drug that had spiked my juice lingered in my system, leaving me wondering what it was and why it affected me so deeply."Soph, try eating, nah," Isabella said, her concern evident as she watched me pick on my food."I’m trying, but I just don’t have an appetite," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper."You look frail. Julian won’t be happy if he sees what you’ve become in just three days," she pointed out, her eyes filled with a mix of sympathy and frustration.Julian's name sent shivers down my spine. I missed him more than I cared to admit. I didn’t blame him for doubting me; he had endured heartbreak before, and I knew how painful that could be."Let me feed you," Isabella insisted, sliding next to me and taking the spoon from my hand. "Please, sir... someone fainted. Can you help me carry her?" I pleaded with the taxi driver, who quickly jumped out of the car, ready to assist. Together, we lifted Sophie into the back seat."You must be gone before I get back here if you don’t want your dead body to leave here," I warned Alex, who stood in the doorway. I climbed into the passenger seat, glancing back at Sophie, praying she would be okay.As we sped toward the hospital, I kept turning back, checking her breathing, hoping to see signs of life in her face. When we arrived, the taxi driver rushed to carry Sophie inside. Nurses hurried to meet us, laying her on a stretcher and whisking her away down the sterile white corridors. I turned to the taxi driver, breathless and grateful. "Thank you so much, sir," I said, fumb

Chapter 53 Sophie’s POV I woke with a headache, blinking against the softness of the light filtering through the curtains. As my eyes adjusted, I spotted Isabella, sitting in a chair with her head resting on the side of my bed. She looked peaceful, and I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me for her presence. She is a friend indeed! Suddenly, memories flooded back—the confrontation with Alex, the fear that had gripped my heart as I realized how close he was at killing me! What if he had succeeded? Had Victoria sent him? And now... 'I am pregnant!' The weight of this revelation settled heavily on me. Why now? Perhaps it's just a way to get back with Julian. I missed him fiercely; the ache for his touch was almost unbearable. I want to feel his touch, I want to feel his lips on mine again. I want his body on mine. "You are awake," Isabella murmured, stirring slightly, jolting me out of my thoughts. "Yes," I replied. "Try to eat something. The doctor gave me some pills for

Chapter 54Julian's POVI watched as Sophie exited my house, her shoulders slumped and her eyes red from crying. A part of me felt like she was telling the truth, but it was rare for me to be drunk and not remember anything the following day. And it was only once since I met her that I had gotten drunk, and Marcus had told me how it went, but I still couldn't make sense of why I didn't remember anything about that day.Sophie's tears hurt me, and I wanted to cuddle her and tell her I believed her. I wanted to kiss her pink lips so hard that she'd moan, but the evidence of her kissing another guy and in bed with another guy still pissed me off. She could have just told me she didn't want me again. Or did she do it because she missed me and wanted a dick in her pussy so badly? I couldn't seem to grasp my head around what could have made her do it. A tap on my shoulder jolted me out of my reverie. I looked up to see Marcus. "You are back, Marcus," I said, rubbing my temple. Julian is definitely not going to take Sophie back. He's mine now," I said, a smile creeping across my face at my triumph. My mind raced with all the ways I could ensure he remained mine. I know Sophie wouldn't dare come closer to Julian again, I could see the fears in her eyes when I had threatened her then. So, she's out. It's only for me to win Julian over back."Jenkins said he saw Sophie coming out of Julian's house," Jaxon added, his brow furrowed as he looked at me."Why?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. SIX YEARS LATER Sophie’s POV "Good morning, beauty." A deep, familiar voice broke through my peaceful sleep, and I felt a warm presence near me. Slowly, I fluttered my eyes open, adjusting to the morning light streaming through the curtains. Julian stood beside the bed, a soft smile on his lips, holding a tray of breakfast in his hands. "Good morning, honey," I murmured, stretching lazily before sitting up. A wave of warmth filled me at the sight before me—a plate of golden-brown toast, a perfectly fried egg, and a steaming cup of tea. My stomach grumbled in approval, making me smile. Julian placed the tray gently on the bed and sat on the edge, watching me. "I made breakfast for you," I glanced at him, my heart swelling with love. "Thank you, honey." His smile widened, and without warning, he leaned in, tilting his head to kiss me. I quickly turned my face away, causing him to freeze mid-motion. "Huh?" He blinked. I chuckled, pressing my lips together. "I haven’t brushed my

Chapter 118 Sophie’s POV It had been three hell long days since Julian fell into a coma. His face, once so vibrant and full of life, was now pale and drawn, the oxygen tubes were gone but there was still IV drips connected to his hand. His lips were slightly parted, and his chest rose and fell weakly beneath the hospital gown, but there was no other sign of movement. I sat beside him, my fingers laced through his, unable to look away from his still form. I tightened my grip on his hand, my voice barely above a whisper. "Julian, can you hear me?" No response. My throat tightened as I swallowed hard, forcing back another wave of despair. I wished for even the faintest sign of acknowledgement. I missed him—his laughter, his warmth, his voice, everything that made him who he was. "Do you remember when you first told me you loved me?" I continued, my voice trembling. "You said it so casually, as if you had always known. And I was so scared… scared that if I believed it, I’d los

Chapter 117 Sophie’s POV The ambulance doors slammed shut, and we sped through the city, sirens wailing. My hands trembled as I clutched Julian’s, his skin cold and clammy. His face was too pale, his lips slightly parted as he struggled for breath. "Stay with me, Julian," I pleaded, my voice shaking. "Please, don’t close your eyes." He tried to smile, but it was weak. His eyelids fluttered, his body barely holding on. "No, no, no," I sobbed, pressing my forehead against his. "You promised me. You said you wouldn’t leave me. You can’t break your promise now." The paramedics worked frantically, pressing gauze against his wound, checking his vitals. "He's losing too much blood," one of them muttered. "Do something!" I screamed. "We're doing everything we can," another paramedic said, trying to keep me calm. I swallowed back my panic and looked at Julian again. His chest rose and fell weakly, each breath looking more labored than the last. "I love you, Sophie," he whi

Chapter 116 Sophie’s POV The sound of the gunshot echoed in my ears, deafening. My body tensed, my breath hitched, and for a moment, I swore my heart had stopped. But there was no pain. I wasn’t hit! Slowly, I opened my eyes, my body trembling, my breath ragged. My heart pounded so loudly it nearly drowned out everything else. Celine—or rather, Victoria—was standing there, her face twisted in rage. But her grip on the gun had faltered, her hands shaking slightly. Then I noticed—someone had tackled her from the side. The gun had fired, but not at me. My breath came in short, uneven bursts as my eyes fell on the person who had tackled her. Julian. He was there, gripping Victoria’s wrist, twisting it painfully as she shrieked in frustration. The gun clattered to the floor, skidding across the rooftop. Victoria struggled wildly, her breath ragged with anger. "Let me go, you bastard!" she spat. "Not this time." Julian’s grip tightened as he shoved her backward, pinning her agains

Chapter 115 Sophie’s POV "How do I look?" I asked, turning to Julian while smoothing down the fabric of my red off-shoulder gown. The silky material hugged my curves perfectly, flowing elegantly to my feet. Julian’s gaze softened as he stepped closer, his lips curving into a fond smile. "You look as stunning as always," he murmured, tucking a loose strand of my hair behind my ear. His touch was gentle, affectionate, and when he leaned down to press a kiss on my forehead, warmth spread through me. Then, he kissed me lightly on the lips, making my heart skip a beat. "Thank you, hubby," I whispered, "You made this happen. You made everything happen. If someone had told me a year ago when I got here that everything would turn out like this, I would have asked them to shut up." Julian chuckled, his fingers tilting my chin up so I could meet his gaze. "Why?" he asked. I sighed, shaking my head at how absurd it all seemed now. "Because I never thought I would fall in love with yo

Chapter 114 Victoria's POV "Here." Zayn said as he zipped up my gown. His eyes gleamed, but I knew that smile wasn’t for me—it was for the mission ahead. Today was finally Sophie’s birthday party. The moment I had been waiting for. "Wow, you look so stunning. I really don’t regret ever choosing you as my pet." Pet. That word still made my skin crawl, but I swallowed my disgust. Was that even something to be proud of? Owning another human being like a possession? "Thank you," I muttered, careful to keep my voice low. I had learned the hard way that any hesitation, any sign of defiance, would earn me his wrath. The past days had been hell—Zayn had beaten me senseless over the smallest mistakes, as if he took pleasure in watching me suffer. He demanded obedience, but it was fucking hard for me to suppress my pride. I had never learnt to bow to people not even my parents. "Good girl." His voice dripped with condescension. "Go check yourself in the mirror while I get dressed.

Before I could even process what happened next, a sharp, stinging pain exploded across my cheek. The force of his slap sent my head snapping to the side, my vision blurring for a moment, my skin burned like fire. When had he gotten to where I was standing? I gasped, my hand instinctively flying up to touch my swollen cheek. My eyes widened in shock—how dare he? Zayn smirked, his expression oozing with arrogance and cruelty. "Just because you're going to help us now doesn't mean you get to ignore me." He tilted his head, stepping closer, his presence suffocating. "You're still my pet—now, after the mission, and forever." His words made my stomach churn. My heart pound
