Chapter 52

Isabella's POV

"I swear I would kill you if anything happens to her," I said to Alex as I rushed outside, my heart racing, desperate to find a taxi.

I managed to hail one in less than a minute. "Please, sir... someone fainted. Can you help me carry her?" I pleaded with the taxi driver, who quickly jumped out of the car, ready to assist. Together, we lifted Sophie into the back seat.

"You must be gone before I get back here if you don’t want your dead body to leave here," I warned Alex, who stood in the doorway. I climbed into the passenger seat, glancing back at Sophie, praying she would be okay.

As we sped toward the hospital, I kept turning back, checking her breathing, hoping to see signs of life in her face.

When we arrived, the taxi driver rushed to carry Sophie inside. Nurses hurried to meet us, laying her on a stretcher and whisking her away down the sterile white corridors. I turned to the taxi driver, breathless and grateful. "Thank you so much, sir," I said, fumb

Chapter 53 Sophie’s POV I woke with a headache, blinking against the softness of the light filtering through the curtains. As my eyes adjusted, I spotted Isabella, sitting in a chair with her head resting on the side of my bed. She looked peaceful, and I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me for her presence. She is a friend indeed! Suddenly, memories flooded back—the confrontation with Alex, the fear that had gripped my heart as I realized how close he was at killing me! What if he had succeeded? Had Victoria sent him? And now... 'I am pregnant!' The weight of this revelation settled heavily on me. Why now? Perhaps it's just a way to get back with Julian. I missed him fiercely; the ache for his touch was almost unbearable. I want to feel his touch, I want to feel his lips on mine again. I want his body on mine. "You are awake," Isabella murmured, stirring slightly, jolting me out of my thoughts. "Yes," I replied. "Try to eat something. The doctor gave me some pills for

Chapter 54Julian's POVI watched as Sophie exited my house, her shoulders slumped and her eyes red from crying. A part of me felt like she was telling the truth, but it was rare for me to be drunk and not remember anything the following day. And it was only once since I met her that I had gotten drunk, and Marcus had told me how it went, but I still couldn't make sense of why I didn't remember anything about that day.Sophie's tears hurt me, and I wanted to cuddle her and tell her I believed her. I wanted to kiss her pink lips so hard that she'd moan, but the evidence of her kissing another guy and in bed with another guy still pissed me off. She could have just told me she didn't want me again. Or did she do it because she missed me and wanted a dick in her pussy so badly? I couldn't seem to grasp my head around what could have made her do it. A tap on my shoulder jolted me out of my reverie. I looked up to see Marcus. "You are back, Marcus," I said, rubbing my temple. He's mine now."Julian is in the bar with his friend," Jaxon informed me, interrupting my thoughts."Good. Tell the person stalking Julian to stop. I don't think I have anything more to know. Julian is definitely not going to take Sophie back. He's mine now," I said, a smile creeping across my face at my triumph. My mind raced with all the ways I could ensure he remained mine. I know Sophie wouldn't dare come closer to Julian again, I could see the fears in her eyes when I had threatened her then. So, she's out. It's only for me to win Julian over back."Jenkins said he saw Sophie coming out of Julian's house," Jaxon added, his brow furrowed as he looked at me."Why?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. That was my only way to avoid being homeless. “Victoria, please,” I said, desperation creeping into my voice. “If you can't do it, set it up for me. I’ll handle it myself.” Victoria looked at me with a smirk. “You’ve got guts...Even if you don’t have anything else, at least you have that. But isn’t that all you have?” I stood up, pulling her closer, our lips mere inches apart. “This is my last resort, Victoria." "Okay...but this is the final favor i am doing for you.” She replied softly. I nodded, sealing her lips with a kiss. When she broke away, her eyes glinted with an unreadable emotion. “I need to go see Julian." she said, then turned to Jaxon. "Jaxon you know what to do, right?” Jaxonnodded and quickly left the room. “Thank you, Victoria,” I said, licking my lips as I pulled her closer by the waist. “But let me have a taste before you go

Chapter 57 Julian's POV I walked into my restaurant, which was bustling with people, and was immediately enveloped by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The laughter and chatter of patrons filled the air, blending with the rich aroma of freshly prepared dishes. It felt surreal to own this place—my dream realized after years of hard work and dedication. I scanned the room, looking for Isabella, but I couldn’t spot her among the crowd. I took a seat at a table in a corner as I gestured for a waitress. She approached, bowing slightly. "Where is Isabella?" I asked, trying to keep my tone steady. "She's in the kitchen," she replied. "Get her for me," I commanded, my voice sharper than intended. The waitress bowed again and hurried off. I waved over another waitress to order wine for two. The minutes felt like hours as I waited. When Isabella finally appeared, she was wearing her apron, her hair pulled back tightly. She looked around, her gaze searching, and when it landed on me,

Chapter 58 Marcus POV FLASHBACK BEGINS The living room was empty. Julian, my boss, was away on a business trip with his best friend, Ethan. Victoria, Julian's wife, had summoned me. Should I wait downstairs or go up to her? After much contemplation, I opted to wait, settling onto the plush sofa. Moments later, I heard footsteps descending the stairs. I turned, my gaze locking onto Victoria as she appeared at the top of the stairs. My breath hitched. What. In. The. Hell. Was she wearing? My eyes, despite my better judgment, devoured her from head to toe. A ridiculously short pair of denim shorts barely concealed her flawless thighs, and a tiny crop top, more revealing than concealing, showcased her perfectly pierced navel. The sight stole my breath. I desperately wanted to look away, to regain control, but my eyes were magnetized, unwilling to break their gaze. “You’re here,” she said, her voice a soft, and melodious, as she paused at the last staircase. I scrambled to

I've searched all of her usual hideouts; she's not there. Could it be that she left the country?" Jaxon speculated. "No, she can't. If she had tried to leave, someone would have seen her. Just then, my office door swung open, and Marcus rushed in, panting as if he had just run a marathon. "What's wrong?" I asked, instinctively rising to my feet. "Yes," I replied, glancing around to ensure no one else was listening. "I overheard that one of the warders came to serve them this morning and noticed she's missing and now...no one knows where she is." My heart raced as I recalled the moment I had tiptoed behind Julian earlier, straining to catch snippets of his conversation with Marcus.Isabella's brow furrowed. "That means someone definitely helped her out, is it her dad? He could have sent someone to help her escape.""Yeah, i am not sure about that. But someone definitely helped her." i said. "So, what is Julian doing about it?" Isabella asked. "He's tightening the security measures," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. Chapter 79Victoria's POVA DAY AGO"Is it true you'll really release me?" I asked Owen, the warder I had been forced to interact with. We were at the corner of the yard where I had been assigned to cut the grass—a task I absolutely detested."Yes, that's if you will let me have a taste of you," he replied, his voice low and dripping with an unsettling desire. Ugh... the smell of him was repulsive. Smelly brute. I couldn't bring myself to stoop so low as to entertain the thought of fucking mere warder. Nah."Okay, but we can just meet after I am released," I suggested, trying to keep my composure as I stepped back slightly, putting distance between us.He nodded eagerly, his eyes glinting with something I found both pathetic and revolting. I had noticed his wandering gaze since he was transferred here a month ago. It had been a desperate gamble to flirt with him, but now it seemed to be my only chance for escape. "Yeah, but how would we meet?" he asked, leaning closer, his breath mak

"Yes, boss," Marcus replied, his tone steady but urgent. I quickly removed the phone from speaker mode and pressed it to my ear, unable to look away from Sophie, whose gaze was fixed on the bed where my phone had just been. I noticed her hand instinctively move to her stomach. "How come?" I asked, my heart pounding. "Let me call you back, Marcus," I said, abruptly ending the call as I moved closer to Sophie. "Victoria is back. What if she really succeeded in killing me and my baby this time? What if she hurts you? What if, Julian? What if she—" Sophie's voice trembled, trailing off as tears began to flow down her cheeks. Damn it. Her tears were my Achilles' heel.
