Chapter 1

Walking alone on a cold winter night, I'm all alone with no one I know of is in sight. People are gathered in this big area outside the city and people like myself are trying not to freeze in this cold night. 

As I walk along this rough path, surrounding me are people that have nowhere else to go. Tents are set up in every direction I look. 

The year is 2022, my 10th birthday just ended four days ago. Shouldn't this be a delightful time that I should be spending with my family but here I am not knowing if they are even still alive. 

My home is no more, nothing was left but broken glass, broken window, the roof has a big hole in it and the whole house collapsed. 

The city is the same as well, the large buildings I see whenever I go to school are going down one by one. The roads are full of cars that have smashed into one another. The streets are filled with people who have their homes destroyed as well. 

No one remained in their homes, every single one left hoping to go into safety. All I saw were dead people crushed by their very own homes and children who had their parents got eaten by those large dogs. I don't know what they call them, are they monsters? 

I think I'm the same as those kids, my family is nowhere to be found, even my friends, I don't know where they are now. 

I hear jets flying over me, are they here to save us? to save me? 

Who am I even trying to fool, why would they even save me? I don't amount to anything. They wouldn't bother giving the time just to save me. 

As the jets went past the area and headed to the clouds, a few seconds after that came a loud thunder. The jet exploded, what could have destroyed it? 

It burned and smoke came after it. A loud scream was then heard throughout the whole area. People started looking up. 

"What is that?" Someone said, 

A monster then flew past the smoke. 

"Monster!" 

People started screaming. Everyone started panicking after that. 

As I was looking up at the monster, people started running away. 

"It's heading straight to us!" they said. 

Oh, it seems luck has never been on my side. I wonder if this would stop all the pain that has been eating me away. 

The monster is flying straight to where the people are dense. 

A couple more fighter jets came. 

"Shoot!" "Shoot!" 

They baraged the whole monster with bullets and it screamed. The monster is starting to go down. 

"It's coming down straight to us!" 

With how big its body was, running away at this point would make no sense. The collision would still catch up to me even if I started running away. 

The monster slammed to the ground, with how big it's body was it still killed a lot of people with the way it was brought down. 

"How lucky I am, I thought I would get caught with it but I'm still saved with no scratch from it. I am supposed to be happy because of this?" 

With the monster lying down looking as if it was dead, I went closer and closer to it. And as I was within its mouth's reach, eyes opened up and looked straight at me. 

"I thought I would be saved but it turns out I still had no luck whatsoever." 

The monster got his head closer to me and its chest started glowing. It went brighter and brighter as if it was going to explode. 

And while I was stunned at that moment, I heard a voice in my head. 

"If you do not wish to die... live on... live on... Pulte!" 

The monster screamed and then tried to bite the young boy, Pulte Liwan, but Pulte was able to dodge his bite and get away from the monster. 

"That was close." 

The monster falls back to the ground. Pulte thought that it was already dead and dropped his guard. 

"Wooh..." 

*piercing sound 

"Huh, what was that?" 

The monster wasn't yet dead, it had little strength still left in it and Pulte wasn't capable of noticing it. It was already too late for him to notice it, a large needle was already struck to his upper chest. 

"What is this? I really thought that this is really different. I thought that my luck would have changed already. Luck really played me all day, I didn't know my end would be this sudden." Pulte frustratingly said as he was losing consciousness. 

And as the needle was being pulled out, the land military forces arrived and saw what had happened to him. They took the monster down quickly. 

"Hoh, what is this..." 

A young officer from the military notices Pulte and how his body is reacting to what the monster had just done to him. 

"This is interesting... Boy, it seems that you're still a bit lucky I'm the one who found you." The young officer said. 

Pulte then lost consciousness and was lying down on the ground as his life was slowly fading away. 

"Get an air lift ready, transport this kid and make it your top priority." 

"What did you say sir... priority? This kid?" a soldier asked.

"Didn't you hear what I just said? Get this kid back to the hospital and call Dr. Hayn immediately. And get going already, this kid won't hold much long." Ravitz angrily said. 

"...Yes, sir!" 

The helicopter arrived and lifted Pulte quickly away from the area and was rushed to where Dr. Hayn was.

'Hurry!"

That was when it all started, the moment my life changed completely and I was turned into a completely different person. 

This is a story of a time when the whole world almost collapsed and humanity almost went extinct. 

But that time had already passed by and the world was sent into this completely different world where humans are not the main occupying species of the planet, the monsters had taken over.
