They said success is nothing if you don't have anyone to share it with. Eva might completely agree. In five years, Eva already handled positions such as Quality Analyst, Subject Matter Expert, Workforce and now, a Team Manager. Her team is the most envied team in the whole site. They always manage to stay on top and have been hoarding awards and recognition ever since they started. Nobod could beat them on a month to month basis. Eva already lost count on how many times a Team Manager requested for her team to be investigated and they calls to be reviewed. But each time Eva and her team will prove them wrong.
They would mock the people who wanted to drag them down by singing and dancing so loud after every time that they will be investigated. They would show how ineffective those petty issues against their team. Eva became so proud with her team and learned how to be mor fierce for them. She was the one who demanded for agents to have more compensations and incentives to motivate them even more. More and more agents started to respect and love her.
"TM Eva, Director Collins wants to see you in his office." One of Eva's agents informed her when she came back from her one hour break with Giselle. Even though confused, Eva immediately went to the Director's office. When she knocked she heard hushed voices inside. She frowned.
"Eva, what aren't you coming in?" the director suddenly peaked at the door. When she came in the room she was astounded.
She a huge banner at the end of the room saying "Congratulations to our new Operation's Manager, Eva Vergara.". There were white and black balloons and a cake carried by their current operation's manager. All the people inside the director's room was smiling at Eva. Especially her best friend Giselle who is now a training manager.
"Congratulations, Eva!" Giselle shrieked. "Oh my God! You're an operation's manager now!"
"Congratulations, Ms. Eva. You deserve this." Eva smiled but she sae Giselle's facial expression quickly changed. The woman standing in front of them is one of the team managers who wanted to destroy Eva.
"How are you?" Giselle sarcastically asked. "How's all those rumors you guys spread about my best friend? She's the operation's manager now."
"Giselle, that's enough." Eva warned her best friend. She just simply smiled at the team manager.
The site director and their previous operation's manager had a smal celebration for her. They are and laughed for an hour to celebrate Eva's promotion. In the past years, Eva started the construction of her own house. She sold her mom's house and lot, used the money to buy a land somewhere else and build her own house. She's been preparing herself for having her own family but until now, she still don't even have a boyfried. Eva has suitors but none of them catched her attention. Sometime's she's loosing patience and would think that resting peacefull.

Jack Dizon, architect and was worn on a decent family. They are not millionairs but he's name is known for his artistic projects and modeling career.
Jack Dizon is a rising star in the architecture industry. He already designed three famous infrastructures in the country. He is also a well-known model and a womanizer. He's been publicly seen with different women, both showbiz personality and not. But instead of people disliking him, he became more famous. Women are drawn to him no matter how much negative news has come out.
"Jack, you're an architect, too. You can't keep up with this kind of reputation." His manager voiced out his concern.
"Philip, relax. I can handle this." Jack calmly said. He is too wrapped up with his fame that he thinks it will last forever. That it will never fade.
"You've been with so many women, Jack. Haven't you found the one?" Philip is still trying to make him understand his point.
"Is there such thing?" Jack laughed. "Kidding." Jack's facial expression turned serious. "I haven't found the woman who can make say I want to get married."

Eva's promotion became a cause for celebration for their site. After their shift, everyone went to the music lounge near their office. This time all of them are happy for Eva. And for themselves. Their operation manager, even though he was a nice person, was not a good leader. Knowing Eva, they all knew that she would be a better boss.
" Boss, you have to come. We're all going to be there." An agent said to Eva.
"Fine, fine. I'll be there. Okay?" Eva said while laughing. She's being overwhelmed with how the situation turned. Now, the number of people who like her at work is greater than the number of people who dislike her. Maybe being power has its perks. Eva accepted the challenge of being an operation manager because she wants to lead people. She wants to help them achieve their full potential.
"How's the new operation's manager doing?" Giselle asked Eva while smiling.
"And how's the new training manager doing, huh?" Giselle was also promoted as the new training manager a week before Eva.
For the two ladies, their lives are starting to turn around. Giselle already purchased land for her parents, and the construction for their house already started. At the same time, Eva plans to save more while living on the condominium unit she purchased. She wants to have a business first and save more money.
------
After their shift, Eva and Giselle went straight L'Heim, the bar where her celebration will take place. It was just around the corner of their office. When they arrived, everything is already set, from the food to the beers. Eva was never used to the kind of life her colleagues were used to. She never had a "cool" outlook on life. For her, life should always be taken seriously. For it can change drastically in just a snap of a finger.
"I'll never get used to this kind of thing," Eva whispered to Giselle.
"We don't have a choice," Giselle whispered back. "We're both managers now, and sometimes, our teams and even our bosses would invite us to this kind of thing."
"I know, but I just don't like this," Eva said while pointing her finger at everything around them.
"Come on, let's appreciate their effort." Giselle dragged her to their table.
"Boss Eva! Boss Giselle!" Everybody greeted them. At least now, they wanted to be friends with the two ladies.
Eva looked around and thought of how different she is from everybody else. For when they party and get drunk, she works her ass off. She never experienced the life of a typical teenager. For her, it's always about earning extra money and studying hard to maintain her grades. She never experienced having any romantic relationship with any man.

After a long day's work, Jack wanted to unwind and get away from his overbearing manager and the stress of being an architect. As he hops on his motorcycle, Jack was thinking of where to go. When he couldn't think of any place, he then decided to go home. While driving, Jack felt his phone vibrate inside his jacket pocket. He parked his car on the sidewalk.
"Robbie? Hey, man. What's up?"
[Bro, are you free right now? We're at the L'Heim.] Robbie said on the other line.
"Sure, man. I'm on my way." Jack responded before ending the call. He smiled at the thought.
When Jack arrives at L'Heim, he noticed that the same group occupies almost the entire bar. He wondered what the occasion was. He scanned the people on every table and corner, trying to find Robbie. After a while, he finally found him. As Jack approaches Robbie, his eyes caught a glimpse of a timid woman sitting on a long table surrounding by noisy fellows. She looks uncomfortable with the surrounding.
Jack didn't even notice Robbie standing beside him. He was shaking his head when he realized who he was looking at. Jack was captivated by the woman's beauty. Despite her uncomfortable smile, the elegance of the surrounding can't seem to match the beauty she possesses. The way she tucks her hair behind her ears. Or how she smiles so plainly. Even the way she nods. Everything about it is beautiful.
"That's our new operation manager." Robbie finally said to get Jack's attention. Jack blinked a couple of times before facing Robbie. "And she's single, man," Robbie said playfully.
"What? No, I was—I was just looking at her, that's all." Jack tried to reason even though it was apparent.
"Whatever you say, man," Robbie said playfully. "But she's single, though. Never had a boyfriend in her entire life." Jack acted not interested, but deep inside, he was thrilled. Jack thought that the woman was not just beautiful. She's also virtuous and with a good background. Robby took a chair and put it beside his new operation manager. Then he gave jack a bottle of beer.
"Hey, what are you doing, man?" Jack whispered to Robbie when he pushed him to sit down. "Hi—sorry, uhm," Jack cleared his throat. He never feels nervous.
"Are you okay?" Jack had no choice but to look at her. And he felt like he's staring at an angel.
-------
Eva looked at Robbie and the man he was pushing forward to sit beside her. Robbie winked at her and smiled before leaving. Even though confused, Eva tried to act normal and continued interacting with her colleagues. But the guy beside kept squirming in his seat. He looked uncomfortable for some reason, and Eva is getting uncomfortable too.
"Are you okay?" Eva finally asked him.
"Huh?" The guy answered as if he didn't notice that someone's sitting next to him.
"I said, are you okay?" Eva asked again. But the guys still looked confused.
"What?" He asked back. Then after two seconds, "Oh! Oh! Yeah, I mean yes. I'm fine." Eva almost laughed when she saw him blushed. Then out of the blue, she realized something. He was handsome, and his eyes are so sexy.
He's used to seeing handsome men, but this guy beside her is different. There's something in his eyes that can make your heart jump. He's got an incredible physique, too. Tall, fair complexion, ash-blond hair. You could say he's a model just by the way he moves and carry himself.
"I know I'm handsome, so it's okay to stare." Eva blinked rapidly when she heard him say those words. "And you're beautiful, too. That's why I was like that earlier." Now it's Eva's turn to blush. "I'm Jack, by the way." He extended his hands.
"Eva." She responded, smiling.
Since then, Eva and Jack never left each other's company. They talked about a lot of things, especially about work and work politics. Jack was sincerely amazed by her journey from being a first-timer to being an operation manager in just two years. He commended her sacrifices and perseverance.
Jack also asked her why she never had any relationship. He said that women don't know the importance of virtue anymore. Jack became honest with a woman for the first time. He told Eva about everything, including all of his affairs. Jack was never real, especially to a lady. He always maintains a supermodel persona and uses it to get the girl.
But not with Eva. Without even realizing it, Jack became an open book. He was admitting all his frustrations, his every disappointment in life. Things that scare him and what he really wanted in life. This unintentional honesty captivates Eva. Even without any experience with men, she knew that it's hard for someone to be open and honest to a stranger. And Eva is someone who knows how to appreciate.
Jack and Eva, we're so busy with each other's company that they didn't even notice that everyone's looking at them, observing. They were all smiling, feeling happy for Eva. Some of them are whispering to one another, asking everyone not to disturb them. The way they looked at each other, it's like nothing matters anymore.
-------
After the celebration, Jack offered to take Eva home. They agreed that she would take her car to their office's parking lot, and she will hop on Jack's motorcycle. Eva's was about to inform Giselle about Jack taking her home, but she immediately saw Giselle's mood darken
"Eva, are you sure about this?" But it seems like not everyone was happy for them.
"Giselle, what wrong?" Eva asked seriously. The moment that Giselle saw them talking, she lost her good mood. She was talking and smiling but Eva her so well.
"Do you know who that guy is?" Giselle asked in a foul mood.
"Yes, his Jack Dizon. He's a supermodel and an architect. Was that okay?" Eva said.
"Yes! Jack Dizon! Do you know who Jack Dizon is?" Giselle asked again.
"Giselle, get to the point," Eva answered. She's starting to get irritated.
"He's a womanizer, Eva!" Giselle replied with the same as Eva.
"I honestly don't care, Giselle," Eva answered. "He made mistakes, so did I, so do you. He's nice to me; why can't I be friends with him?" Giselle was shocked by her best friend's response. But Eva is a grown woman. She has the right to decide. "I'm sorry, I have to go, okay?" Giselle just nodded and watched Eva walk away with Jack. A stranger who's so famous because of his womanizing.
Giselle knew that Eva would be an easy target for men like Jack Dizon. She just hopes that her best friend will see him for who he is sooner rather than later.
"You're best friend doesn't seem to like me." Jack jokingly said before hopping onto his motorcycle. He had to purchase a new helmet from the nearby shop for Eva since he only brings one helmet every day.
"She just heard a lot of stories about you. But she'll come around. I'm sure of it." Eva said while smiling before hopping on.
"I've never been honest to anyone, Eva. I don't know about you, but it says a lot for me." Jack sincerely said.
It's been two months since Eva and Jack met. And it's been two months since Giselle started to be so overprotective of Eva. They've had arguments a few times because of Eva's association with Jack. No matter how many times Eva tried to say that Jack is trying to change for her, Giselle would never believe it."You've been going out with Jack too often." Giselle coldly said behind Eva while she fixes the bouquet of red roses that Jack gave her earlier. It's been a regular occurrence that would pick her up to take her home or to work."Giselle, please, you have to stop this." Eva held the vase where she put those beautiful roses and placed them on a table near the window. Being an operation manager, Eva got her private workspace."I'm trying to protect you. Don't you see that?" Giselle said, almost begging. "He's not the man for you, Eva. He's a womanizer. He's living a scandalous life." Giselle explained."You have to relax, best friend. I haven't even sai
Eva's life took a remarkable turn when she met Jack. Day by day, Jack would make her feel loved and special. He would always have something up his sleeve to surprise Eva and make her smile. At this point, Eva was so sure she made the right decision when she said to Jack. It's her day off, and she wanted to surprise Jack with a home-cooked meal. She knew that Jack doesn't have enough time to eat when he wakes up in the morning to go to work. She thought it was the least she could do.On her way to Jack's office, Eva saw a woman; she could be the same age as her mom, walking alone in the street. Something inside her ache. The woman was carrying a plastic basket and something heavy at the top of her head. Eva decided to pull over."Excuse me," Eva called the woman's attention. "Let me give you a ride. Come on." She happily offered."Oh, no. It's okay. I manage." The woman politely refused."No, Ma'am. I insist." Eva got out of the car and helped the woman wi
Giselle can feel that her best is happy with how her life is going. But for some reason, her guts still tell her not to judge Jack. Sometimes, she feels guilty for being mean to him without a valid reason. Giselle just can't. While she worries about Eva's love life, Giselle is building an incredible love story with Lindon. Every day that she gets to spend with him, she's one step closer to dreaming of a life with him."You're stressing yourself about Eva again," Lindon said behind. He found Giselle standing in front of her office window, watching as Eva walk towards Jack."Why can't you trust Jack? What did he do to you?" Lindon asked her."I don't know, Lind," Giselle admitted. "I'm trying to like him; I'm trying to be nice to him. But I just can't." She faced Lindon. "Am I a bad person?""What? Are you kidding? If you're a bad person, then there is no good person left in the world." Lindon joked. "But, seriously, don't you ever think of yourself a bad p
It's been four months since Eva said yes to Jack's proposal. The exact number of days that she hasn't talk to Giselle. This is the first time they've gone for days without talking. Giselle won't even look at her in the office. Eva was trying her best to understand Giselle's suspicions about Jack. She knew that her best friend was just trying to protect her. But Jack never did anything to make her feel that way. And that is what Eva couldn't understand."Babe, which one do you think suits the theme of our wedding?"She tried to talk to Giselle multiple times, but she will turn her back on her. Giselle is the only one that Eva considers as a family, and she wanted her best friend to be part of her special day."Babe, are you with me?" Jack held her hand that made her snapped back to reality."I'm sorry, you were saying?" Eva asked, ashamed of spacing out. They were supposed to be happy and excited about their upcoming wedding. But her mind kept circling bac
A year into their marriage when Jack started drinking. He will come home almost every night, drunk and angry. Eva is trying her best to be an understanding wife. She would take care of him, feed, bathe him, and change his clothes even when Jack would tell her, blaming her that she no longer receives offers in her modeling career."Babe, let's eat? Dinner's ready." Eva calmly announced to her husband, Jack, who's lying in their bed."Do you know what I see in you right now?" Jack asked her in a rude tone. "Desperation."Eva was stunned by her husband's statement, but she chose to be quiet. They are already the talk of the neighborhood one and a half months after their marriage. Every time that Jack would come home, he drunk. But even in his drunken state, he would still abuse Eva. And she can't complain, his words were always "you're my wife, and this is your obligation."Eva was about to go downstairs to eat alone when Jack grabbed her shoulders and pushe
- Flashback-The sun shines brightly as the people inside the St. Benedict Cathedral prepares themselves. Every one of them wears a smile on their face. From the outside of the cathedral to the interior decoration, happiness and love can be seen everywhere. As the vast double doors opened, the sweet music of The Gift started to play. Eva slowly walked down the aisle, wearing an elegant, vintage Victorian wedding dress. She looked so beautiful with her natural makeup, showing off her unique beauty. At the end of the aisle, near the altar, Jack awaits for his soon-to-be bride. A tall, handsome man, wearing a matching embroidered Victorian suit. They are like a match made in heaven. A woman who always felt incomplete and a man who never thought that being complete is about being happy with someone.Eva's tears won't stop falling, but she doesn't care because they were tears of joy. Finally, realizing that she is one step closer to her dream of a complete and
Eva's pregnancy was a tough one. She experienced bleeding four times before her term. But Jack was caring and attentive which made everything easier. Giselle always visits Eva and takes care of her whenever she's not busy even in the midst of their wedding preparation. Both of them were sad that Giselle has to get marry without Eva because of her situation."Jack!" The whole house was disturbed by Eva's screams. Jack is downstairs preparing their dinner when he heard his wife calling for him. He ran as fast as he could to get to her."What happened?" Jack asked hurriedly."I think the baby's coming!" Eva screamed when she felt another jolting pain in her lower back."What!" Jack was rattled. He didn't know what to do. He was going to every corner of the house trying to find something."Jack! Take me to the hospital!" Eva yelled to get Jack's attention."Hospital bag. I got it." Jack finally focused and helped Eva to the stairs.Jack d
A mother's love for her child is incomparable. There is nothing they wouldn't their children. Eva learned that from her adopted mother. But instead of letting Jack go, Eva became a willing participant in an abusive relationship. Every day, Jack would do something to her that dehumanize or demoralize her. Or worst, hurt her, but all she would be is cry. Because she doesn't want her family to fall into ruin."Ms. Eva, are you alright?" An agent noticed that Eva could not walk straight."Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just having some girl problem." Eva lied."Oh! Oh, okay. If you need something just let us know." He said and Eva just nod.Lindon saw Eva and ran towards her. "Eva, you know that if you need help, Giselle and I are here for you, right?" He whispered as he helped Eva to walk into her office."If fine, Lindon, just having—""Yeah, some girl problems." Lindon finished her sentence for her. "I've had that excuse from you since forever. Do
Fame quickly followed after Eva's restaurant was featured on television. Reporters, especially paparazzi exerted their efforts to dig any dirt about her life. However, the only thing they found was how she made herself from scratch, and the story about her abusive husband. Instead of reporting controversy, Eva became a hero. Her story became sensationalized, and she became the modern day Joan of Arc.A lot of people started having interest in her life, but none more than the most famous writer in the country, Alison Walker. She was awarded as a model writer multiple times, and had five out of six of her books were best sellers. She took interest on Eva Vergara's life, and made it her mission to interview her for a book she wanted to right."Excuse me, I'm looking for Ms. Eva Vergara." Alison asked the first waiter she saw when she entered the restaurant."She's in her office, Ma'am. You can sit on one of the vacant tables while I call her." The waiter responded.
Francine is trying to start having a normal youth. When they were still living with her father, Francine always avoided having friends. Because friends would mean inviting people to their house. Which means people will know what her life truly looks like.No matter how badly she wanted to be like those other students who eat at the cafeteria with their friends, or doing sleepovers. All she had was acquaintances. She's not considered as a freak, but she might as well be. During school parties, she's always a wallflower."Francine, everyone's invited on Pearl's birthday. Are you sure you don't want to come?" Cyd, one of her classmates asked."Yeah, I need to go to our restaurant. There's a tv network that will feature our restaurant on their show. I have to be there to help." Francine responded."That is so cool." Cyd exclaimed.Even though Francine wanted to come to the party, she's afraid of what people would say about her if they ever know the tru
They say love is sweeter than the second time around, especially when you already felt the pain of a broken heart. After the pain, once you learn to trust again, once you learn to let people in again, loving someone will feel greater than the first time. All you have to do is be brave, to not be afraid of loving again. It's not that easy for Eva. The fear is just to great for her to love again. She may be able to let herself love someone again, but it was just too early for her. Every night, she's still having nightmares about Jack hurting her. Some night, she would even dream about Jack chasing her, sometimes Francine. His eyes were devoid of emotion, like black holes into nothingness."Hey, Eva. You're spacing out. What's wrong?" Giselle found Eva at the pantry, sitting at one of the vacant tables near the glass window. Her food is sitting on the table, still untouched."What?" Eva asked in a confused tone. It's as if she she just woke from a deep sleep.
Just like she planned, Eva canvassed for the best location for the restaurant she was planning to open. With Giselle's help, they both find the best spot, and started the whole thing. Within three months, Eva's restaurant had its ribbon cutting.Eva and Giselle became business partners. They named their restaurant 'Best Friends', and all the food they offered local food, but with different twist. Eva started to be the head chef, until she found someone that she can trust with the kitchen. She doesn't want to give up her job as an operation manager just yet. So, she went back to her company to continue her job."Welcome back, Boss." The agent on the business account she used to handle greeted her happily. They welcomed her back with open arms. The best operation manager they ever had."They're so happy to see you recovering well. They were all so worried about you." Giselle said. Eva was back to her old workspace, and Giselle was helping her settle back in.
Just like what Marcus planned, the cameras he set up all over the house gave the court enough evidence to prosecute Jack. Even his mother's money was not enough to keep him from prison. Francine, Giselle and her husband, and Marcus were there to support her through the trials.Jack was furious when he saw Marcus on the side of the prosecution. He was Jack's friends from college, one of the people he can trust. Seeing him on the other side of the court made him felt betrayed. When the jury's verdict was passed down, he almost jumped just to get to Marcus. The anger in his eyes made him look like a maniac ready to kill."Eva, you okay?" Giselle asked. Eva and Francine moved out of their house after Jack got incarcerated. The house was given to them by Jack's mother after their wedding. A woman who never liked Eva ever since. Giselle found her at the back of the house sitting under a huge tree."Hey, yeah. I'm fine. I'm just thinking." Eva responded."Thinki
Giselle and her family have been worried since Eva came back to Jack. They haven't heard from him, and she has never reported for work since then. Giselle wanted to just burst into their home so many times, but Lindon stopped her. He always reminded her that it could only make the situation worst for Eva and Francine."Ms. Giselle, is there any news about Ma'am Eva? One of their agents asked as she passed by the operation floor."Hi! Yeah, uhm, Eva is in the middle of something significant, but she'll be back, don't worry." Giselle lied. When she got back to the safety of her office, Giselle sighed and leaned to her table. She hasn't heard from Eva since she left Lindon's ancestral house."God, Eva! What happened to you?" Giselle asked herself out loud. Her day went on with Eva in her mind. A decision was made that she will go and visit and best friend. And if she is not okay, Giselle made up her mind that she will do what needs to be done.
Eva woke up with a stinging feeling in her head. When she felt her head, there's a large lump near her temple. She still feels dizzy whenever she moves. Her body feels sore everywhere, and she can barely stand. She hasn't reported for work in a week because of what Jack did to her. She was sure that Giselle is so worried about her, but she can't contact her best friend because Jack confiscated her phone."Oh, good. You're awake. Go on, take a bath." Jack commanded.Eva obliged without saying a word. Because Jack made a promise that if she complains or disobeys him, he will turn his wrath to their daughter, this is her punishment for trying to leave him. And Eva won't give him a reason to touch their daughter. While in the bathroom, Eva looked at her naked reflection in the mirror. She has bruises everywhere. Some are almost healed, some are new. Her sides and hips are aching from the repetitive beating and rape. Eva can no longer remember how many times she wish
"Giselle, how's your pregnancy? I'm at your house, and if you don't bring Eva and my daughter to me, I'm going to kill your mom and your son." Giselle's whole went cold. Like her heart suddenly stop. But it was actually beating so fast. She can see them talking to her, but they can't hear them."Giselle!" Eva slapped Giselle, snapping her out of reality. "Who was it?""It's—it's Jack, he—uhm—he's at our house, with my—with my mom and our son." Giselle slowly looked at Eva as her tears began to fall."Francine, get your things. We're going home." Eva didn't have to think twice. She's not going to let him hurt Giselle's family."What? No! You can't go back!" Still, Giselle's instinct is to protect her best friend."I have to, best friend. We don't have a choice. I'm not going to let anything bad happen to my godson." Eva said while she's smiling even though fear is written all over her face."Why don't we go to the poli
