"It's hot, Dad," Chelsea complained as she fanned the coffee stain on her outfit.
"Oh my... you weren't careful. It was clearly hot, but you still grabbed it," Carlos led Chelsea to a nearby room.
The room wasn't too big, but it had a bathroom. Carlos used it as a resting place when he had urgent work and couldn't go home. Instead of commuting back home tired and drowsy, Carlos sometimes decided to stay overnight at the office, and this room was his designated resting place.
There was nothing special about the room, just a small wardrobe where Carlos kept spare clothes and a small-sized bed. Perfect for Carlos alone when he needed to rest there.
"It's so hot, Dad," Chelsea cried a little to make Carlos feel more sympathetic. Whether he liked it or not, Carlos had to take off Chelsea's tank top and pants, and indeed, her stomach and thighs were red due to the hot coffee spill earlier.
"Let's go to the bathroom to clean up!" Chelsea shook her head.
"But, Dad, I'm embarrassed. You might think I did this on purpose."
"You must not think like that. I swear, Dad never suspects anything bad about you. Besides, this injury is real."
"Just help me with a compress, okay, Dad?"
"You are sure?"
Chelsea nodded. "Yeah, wait here for a bit." Carlos grabbed a shirt and took it to the bathroom. There was no small towel there, so his shirt was forced to be used as a compress. As soon as Carlos's back disappeared behind the bathroom door, Chelsea rushed to remove the last covering of her upper body leaving her lower underwear. He lay on the bed, holding his breath, hoping that Carlos wouldn't go berserk seeing his current condition. Chelsea also strengthened her heart not to run away when Carlos arrived.
"Chelsea, come on .." Carlos froze. This is the second time seeing Chelsea's springy spheres. Even though it was hot and cold, Carlos still approached. Compresses Chelsea's stomach. "Sorry, Daddy. It's wet too, I'm not comfortable.. There's no blanket, so I just leave it.” Chelsea sat down. Holding Carlos' hand.
"Dad, I want to say something." Carlos looked at Chelsea. "I fell in love with Daddy. Since the first time we met.” Carlos was stunned. His hand, which was holding the compress, was no longer able to work.
"Dad, I'm sorry I can't hold this love growing." Chelsea cupped Carlos's cheeks.
"But daddy needn't worry. I will not disturb the relationship between my father and my mother. I will still help you to get married. But, let me love you, Dad.” He pressed his lips against Carlos's.
"This is not right, Chelsea."
Pull away, because Chelsea even crushed his lips. “I know, but I love Daddy. I want to be with Daddy." Chelsea is getting closer. Didn't want Carlos to be far from her.
“Daddy doesn't believe it? I will provide evidence, and I promise no one will find out about this.” Taking off the jacket Carlos was wearing. Followed by unbuttoning the shirt he was wearing. Chelsea forced herself to forget all the pride she had... It didn't matter what happened, most importantly revenge. With the perfection of her body, Chelsea was sure that Carlos would not be able to turn her back on her, let alone Margaret.
“Chelsea!” cried Carlos, clutching Chelsea's wrist tightly, wanting to take off his shirt. “Why, Dad? Am I not worthy of Daddy?" His eyes started to fill with tears. She wasn't doing drama, but rather embarrassed that Carlos refused. "Daddy is angry?"
"I already considered you like my own child. In fact, I didn't want you to end up like this. I know you're a good girl who needs money, that's why you offered to be my sugar baby back then. Know your worth, that's why I accepted to be your son-in-law." Carlos embraced Chelsea and hugged her. "Kill that love, we can never be together."
"I will do that, but let me have Daddy. Let me..."
"Chelsea, listen. You are Vano's destiny!"
Chelsea shook her head. "I love Daddy. I started to cry, choking up. Breaking Carlos's little heart. "It's up to Daddy whether he wants to consider me a cheap woman or whatever, but I love Daddy. But, I promise, I'll help Daddy marry my mother and keep Vano away from Celine." She released her embrace from Carlos. "It's okay to be rejected, it's understandable that an honorable and respectable man like Daddy wouldn't want to accept the love of a poor girl like me!" she said.
She got off the bed and picked up all her scattered clothes from the floor. With quick steps, she headed to the bathroom, making Carlos feel guilty for the rejection she had just made.
In the bathroom, Chelsea took a long sigh. She was thankful that Carlos hadn't succumbed to her seduction. Her eyes welled up as she stared at the mirror on the sink. There was no cover except for a triangular-shaped item at the bottom. Chelsea tried to push away her heartache and her own behavior. She also convinced herself to be able to seek revenge, to make Margareth frustrated and slowly die.
Chelsea reluctantly declined Carlos's offer to take her home because she was still upset about his rejection. She also acted as if she were heartbroken due to the rejection.
Chelsea immediately contacted Vano and asked him to meet, to discuss what had happened earlier. Vano casually mentioned that he was currently on campus and asked Chelsea to come there.
As for Chelsea's current position, she was on leave from campus after her father's death. It would be about two more days before Chelsea could show up there. As a result, Vano asked her to go home first and make sure Margareth wasn't at home.
Chelsea didn't know what other plans the man had in mind, but in order to comply with all the rules outlined in their agreement contract, Chelsea just followed what Vano wanted.
Upon arriving home, Chelsea informed Vano that her mother was at the salon. Chelsea didn't know what kind of treatments the middle-aged woman received, but according to her house assistant, as long as Margareth lived there, she spent her time at the salon every day.
She left at 10:00 AM and returned at the last minute before Carlos came back home. Chelsea, who was with Carlos, of course had no idea what her mother had been doing while left alone at the house.
However, because Chelsea claimed not to feel well and weak after Carlos's rejection earlier, he allowed her to go home first. Besides, Carlos also needed time to calm down after what Chelsea had done to him.
Which normal man could refuse Chelsea's enticing and charming body? Maybe only Carlos could do it because he tried to remember the face of Vano's birth mother so as not to be carried away. A woman whom he still loved dearly until this moment. If only that accident hadn't happened, of course, Carlos wouldn't have wanted to know Margareth.
While waiting, Chelsea sat on the back porch, observing the well-maintained garden. Her hands itched to arrange and improve the garden, but the scorching heat deterred her from doing so. She decided to allocate some time later in the evening to take care of all the plants.
"The garden was created by Vano's late mother," a middle-aged woman approached Chelsea with a glass of orange juice in her hand. "Auntie has great respect for the lady because she preferred gardening over gallivanting outside. She wasted Mr. Carlos's hard-earned money."
Chelsea didn't know whether the housemaid meant to mock Margareth or not, but suddenly, this household assistant came bearing a glass of juice without being asked and spoke about how graceful and good Vano's late mother was.
"That's right, . Very different from my mother, isn't it?" Chelsea replied, making it clear to the housemaid that she wasn't on her mother's side.
"Auntie didn't say that, Non." The middle-aged woman chuckled a bit. "But if Non thinks so, then that's how Non's mother is."
"I know that, . That's why I'm here to separate the two of them. Honestly, I feel embarrassed to have a mother like Margareth. She's already received so much love from Mr. Carlos, but she has no sense of propriety. She squanders the hard-earned money that Mr. Carlos works so hard for."
The middle-aged woman nodded. "If allowed, Auntie would like to help Non do that. Vano has also told Auntie about the plans you're making for Mr. Carlos."
Suddenly, that confession startled Chelsea. How could Vano share their secrets with this household assistant? How influential was this housemaid that Vano would bother telling her their plans?
"You don't need to be surprised to hear Auntie's statement. Since the Lady passed away, it was Auntie who took care of and raised Vano. Mr. Carlos only gives Auntie money as her salary for her service. So, you could say Auntie knows Vano's background. His attitude. What he likes and dislikes. And Auntie knows that Vano hasn't obtained the approval he's been seeking for, but in this regard, Auntie doesn't agree with Vano because, to be honest, even until now, Auntie doesn't believe that the accident was just a mere accident.
Unfortunately, for that part, Auntie hasn't been able to change Vano's mind, even though five years have passed since his relationship with Celine began. Auntie doesn't want Vano to be far from her, so Auntie just accepts and goes along with Vano's wishes. While waiting for Mr. to find a girl to replace Miss Celine."
"Me, then," Chelsea sighed in relief. She had been worried that this middle-aged woman might be a spy sent by someone to gather information from her.
However, hearing the heartfelt affection this woman had for Vano, Chelsea knew and realized that with her, she could change the lives of Vano and Carlos.
"One more thing, Miss." Before Chelsea could reach for the juice in front of her, the middle-aged woman made her hesitate because there was one more thing she hadn't mentioned yet.
Uncertain of what else the mother was doing in the house, which made Carlos's household assistant feel uncomfortable and disturbed, she feared her employer had made a mistake in choosing a wife.
"Yesterday, Mrs. Margareth contacted someone. By chance, I overheard her calling that person 'darling.' As far as I know, Mr. Carlos doesn't like overly affectionate terms like that. But Mrs. Margareth used it.
She contacted that person for quite some time and sat here alone. Occasionally, she laughed at that person's flattery. I can also confirm that Mr. Carlos is not a romantic person to that extent.
I've been working here for years, long before Vano's mother passed away. I've been here, and not once have I heard Mr. calling his wife endearing names.
He's a cold and stiff person. I'm very sure that the person Mrs. Margareth was talking to is not the master of this house."
Chelsea furrowed her brows. "Is that so, ?" She confirmed once again whether what the household assistant said was true or not about her mother's behavior.
Although she had only recently met and spent time with Carlos, Chelsea also agreed with what the household assistant had said. Carlos did indeed seem rigid and not romantic at all. Despite his aggression, Carlos remained tense, like a freshly dried washcloth under the sun.
"True, it's better for Miss to investigate who the person is that Mrs. Margareth often contacts. Honestly, Auntie doesn't want Mr. Carlos's money to be spent by that woman to make another man happy. These words may sound a bit harsh, Non, but that's the reality. Mr. Carlos has done so much good for Auntie, so it's only humane to defend and save Auntie's employer from misery. From that snake-like woman too."
20The middle-aged woman seemed passionate. She conveyed her concerns about Margareth's behavior."Don't worry, let me handle everything. So, there's no need to worry, especially about doing things that could jeopardize your presence here because I know how my mother can easily twist the facts. As long as you know, my father died because of her actions and was falsely accused as if he was the one with bad behavior.Playing around. When in fact, she's the one who changes lovers, and I swear I won't let her live in peace, let alone happiness, at the expense of my father's suffering. And don't worry, I won't need much time to do this... And...""What are you guys talking about? Why so serious in the middle of the day like this?" interrupted Vano, who didn't know when he had been standing behind Chelsea."Ah, nothing, Honey. We were just discussing the slightly neglected plants. As you know, Auntie is not very good with gardening.""Oh, that's right. I'll let Daddy know to have the garden
2Chelsea was no longer surprised by Vano's shopping results. He was really going to transform her into a seductive woman, and Chelsea would have to work extra hard because Carlos wasn't just any man.If Carlos were like any other man, Chelsea would have already been under his control. But what had happened? Forget touching her; he wasn't even tempted.Chelsea tried her best, determined to achieve her goal – to make her mother beg for forgiveness for everything she had done to her father over the years. To enhance her appearance, Chelsea had to clean herself up and do her makeup to look beautiful and fresh in Carlos' eyes, who was supposedly in the family room, enjoying the bright afternoon while reading a newspaper.Chelsea was prepared, wearing a mini skirt and a tank top. Underneath the tank top, she wore nothing, creating two bulges. Her outfit left little to the imagination and was designed to break through Carlos' defenses aggressively. As she stepped out of her room, her gaze i
However, subconsciously he might have done that because he was quite interested in Chelsea's figure, who was indeed much better than Margareth's figure. What's more, since living in his house some of his needs and needs are fulfilled by Chelsea.Meanwhile, Margaret was busy with herself. Either wake up late or like to wander around wasting a lot of money. Meanwhile, Chelsea has never asked him for a penny since living in the house. Even though there was a payment that Chelsea got for it all.Carlos remembered the last time he gave money to Chelsea, whether he still had the money or not. He didn't know that either."So, to celebrate our anniversary, can I sleep with Daddy?" Chelsea covered Carlos' mouth with her index finger. "Just sleep, nothing more. Honestly, I'm afraid to sleep alone, my room is so spacious and big. I promised to come in after they were all asleep and out before they woke up. After all, Daddy himself saw that I had finished cooking breakfast when Mother and Vano wo
23"What is it?" Carlos quickly closed the bedroom door when he came out. Scared Margaret looked behind her back and saw Cecilia who was now lying innocently on the bed.Carlos couldn't imagine how angry Margaret would be at Cecilia when she found out that the girl was in her room.Just being in his room, Carlos was sure to make Margareth inflamed and angry, especially with Cecilia not wearing anything there.“Nothing, Carlos. I just wanted to ask your permission to go see my friend who is in the hospital. He had a heart attack. I came here just to say goodbye so you don't look for where I am laterBecause maybe I stayed there because my friend's husband was out of town. There is still work that can't be left out so for tonight my friend asked for help to accompany him to the hospital. Yes, can I?""Can. The driver will take you later.""No need." Margareth forced a smile. “I can just take an online taxi. You don't need to bother the driver. I'm new here so I don't feel like bothering
24"What's wrong, In?" said Cecilia as soon as she picked up the incoming call from Indri. He also let Carlos put his nightgown back on. Last night's incident and Carlos' confession were enough for tonight as a binder so that the man was no longer serious in having a relationship with his mother.“I-I need your help, Cecilia. Can you come here, it concerns my mother.”"What's wrong with mom?" Cecilia jumped when she heard Indri crying and saying her mother's name. “Is your mother okay? Is his condition getting worse?”"Everything is true, that's why you please come to my house right now," Indri's voice sounded broken with a feeling of great fear and sadness."Okay, I'll be right there." Cecilia hurried to end the call and turned to Carlos.“Dad,”"What is it?" asked Carlos, the man seemed to be putting his clothes back on."Dad, I'm going to leave for a while to Indri's house. He said he was in big trouble and it involved his mother. He is the only friend I have and family to me. Will
25Meanwhile, when Cecilia opened her eyes, Vano could see how many problems she had to endure at such a young age. Vano also feels guilty about using Cecilia to tempt his father, just to get approval for his and Celine's relationship. Vano wants to step down and let Cecilia go so she can live freely, but their plans are the same even though they have different goals.Vano started fighting with himself, whether he would stop or continue to support whatever Cecilia did. After all, if Vano stops Cecilia, the girl will not necessarily agree because of the deep-rooted grudge. Not knowing how many hours Vano had spent looking after Cecilia, what he clearly remembered was that last night he started looking after Cecilia at around 23.00.Now the sun was peeking from behind the curtains and the sound of knocking on the bedroom door was heard. Of course, their household assistants lost their masters who usually gathered in the dining room."What's wrong, Aunt?" Vano asked rubbing his waking fa
26"If he loved you, he wouldn't have done this to you.""Maybe he's desperate. As he told me, he needs money for his mother's surgery.”"But that's not your responsibility."“Dad, never mind, I'm fine. Daddy is like that too and after this I promise to take extra care of myself. I also won't easily believe someone's words, even if that person is close to me. And starting today I want to convey to Daddy, Daddy is the only person I trust in this world, so I beg you not to betray and hurt me, Daddy.I no longer have anyone in this world. Mother, she doesn't look like my mother because of the many wounds she gave me, changing my life to what it is now."Carlos tightened his embrace. Drowning Cecilia into a hug that was so warm and comforting. Letting the girl cry over all the bad luck she experienced. Carlos also vowed to give Cecilia happiness even if it meant sacrificing his own life. And this morning Carlos admitted that he felt comfortable when he was with Cecilia, hoping that this g
27"What do you mean?" Vano hands back the two books to Cecilia."It seems like I'm starting to feel comfortable and enjoy being with your dad. So, from today on, call me 'Chosen,' if my mom isn't around.""W-Wait a minute, what do you mean? I don't understand. Please explain in detail so I can digest everything you're saying.""I and your dad are already married, Van. And here's the proof." Cecilia opens the book and shows a photo of her and Carlos together. "And after thinking it over, I believe I should just go through with this marriage and hope that your dad is the destiny I've been searching for.""Why would you think that? Um... I mean, it feels like you're saying too soon that Dad is your destiny. Isn't all of this just a...""That was before I saw how sincere your dad treats me. Even though our introduction wasn't good, and our initial intentions weren't either, your dad's sincerity is something I no longer doubt. So, there's no reason for me to reject marrying him. The marri
Gibran continued, "As for our divorce, I've already agreed to it. We'll proceed with the legal process, and you'll be free to start a new chapter in your life. I hope you find the happiness you deserve."The conversation between Viska and Gibran marked the beginning of the end of their tumultuous marriage. While their emotions were still raw, they had come to a mutual understanding that it was time to move on and seek happiness elsewhere.Gibran's frustration and pent-up emotions poured out as he defended his actions. He felt betrayed by Viska, who had consistently pushed him away and made unfavorable comparisons with Nicholas. Their relationship had become a battleground of insecurities, and Gibran had sought solace with Shabila.Viska's accusations stung, but Gibran was determined to make her understand the context of his actions. He continued, "Viska, I don't want to justify what I did, but it was a result of our broken marriage. We both contributed to its downfall. I needed someth
190"Also," Bryan paused, kissing Silvi's lips briefly."Don't forget that the night we were together, I can assure you, it's my child."Silvi shook her head. "It's not Devin's child. Do you think after that night, I didn't do anything with other men? Did you really think that night was the only time someone touched me? No, there have been many other nights with so many men because I felt like I wasn't pure anymore. So I was free to do it with anyone since my life was already a mess.""S-so... instead of slightly more ruining myself, and the last time it was done to me was by Devin. That's why he's willing to take responsibility. He's also convinced that this is his child."Bryan let out a bitter laugh, releasing Silvi from his embrace. "Is that so?" He loosened his tie, which had felt suffocating after hearing Silvi's explanation. "Let's prove that what you said is true." He took off the suit jacket that clung to his body.“W-what are you doing?” Silvi stepped back. Hugging her own b
189"No way! I won't leave until I meet Gibran. He has to take responsibility for this child," Shabila insisted, refusing to budge. She held onto Viska and stood her ground."Leave, I said! Go!"Viska couldn't bear Shabila's stubbornness and forcefully pulled her arm, nearly causing Shabila to stumble."What's wrong with you!" Shabila pushed away Viska's hand and fixed her disheveled hair. "Are you afraid your husband's actions will be known to your parents? Or is it that you refuse to accept the truth?" Shabila began to rant."I don't understand what you're saying. Now leave!" Viska demanded."Wait, Viska! Mom wants to ask this woman something." Viska's mother restrained her daughter and turned to Shabila. "Why did you let my granddaughter get pregnant? Don't you know he's already married? What do you want from us? Money?"Shabila seethed with anger. Her dignity felt insulted when the middle-aged woman mentioned money."Do you think I'm a lowly woman who just surrenders her body to a
188Shabila spent the whole day in frustration, angry that she couldn't meet Gibran at his cafe. She paced back and forth in her room, thinking of ways to meet him."Do you think you can avoid me forever? You won't be able to, Gibran. I have to make you take responsibility for the child I'm carrying. You won't be able to escape. Just wait and see."Shabila clenched her fists, planning a thousand ways to meet Gibran. "If I can't find you at the cafe, I'll come to your house. Let's see if you can still avoid me," she muttered to herself.Gibran decided to visit the club where he had met Shabila some time ago. He had a bad feeling about Shabila's visit to his cafe and wanted to find out what had really happened between them that night. Honestly, Gibran didn't remember much because he had been heavily intoxicated that night.Upon arriving at the club, Gibran called one of the waitresses and conveyed his request to meet with the club's owner."I'd like to discuss something important with y
187"What brand would you like, Miss?" The employee asked while displaying several different brands of pregnancy tests.Shabila looked puzzled, which only fueled the employee's suspicions. "Is this your first time buying a pregnancy test?" she guessed with a condescending glance."Y-yes," Shabila replied hesitantly. Seeing the employee looking down on her, Shabila's heart began to boil. "I am already married, just so you know. Here's my ID," she said abruptly, opening her wallet and showing her ID card, which still stated her marital status as MARRIED. Her divorce from Arya was only religious; it wasn't legally recognized yet.Seeing the ID placed on the counter, the pharmacy employee became flustered. She was torn between embarrassment and guilt. "I'm s-sorry, Miss, I didn't mean to—""It's fine, I understand!" Shabila retorted sharply, then pointed towards the pregnancy tests. "So, which one is the best?" she asked. She deliberately didn't want to prolong the issue since she wanted
186Several days had passed, and today was the ceremonial bath event for Silvi. Everything was well-prepared, and the guests were moved by the event, which was expertly guided by the paid organizers, arranged by Silvi's parents. Silvi's large family wore matching light green kebaya, while Devin's family, who were present, wore light blue kebaya. The event was conducted with great solemnity, and Silvi looked beautiful despite wearing makeup that wasn't too flashy. This ceremony included many symbols and motifs that served as lessons or guidelines for the couple, influencing their married life. These symbols or motifs mainly conveyed advice and useful insights for the newlyweds' life together. That's why Mama Silvi insisted on holding the ceremonial bath event, even though Silvi and Devin had been married before. In addition to the food ordered for the guests and relatives, the organizers had prepared specific dishes usually served during this ceremonial bath event. These included tumpe
185Meanwhile, Silvi and Devin listened to the doctor's explanations during the examination. Silvi's pregnancy was already at three weeks. The doctor prescribed vitamins and anti-nausea medication since Silvi mentioned she often felt dizzy and nauseous. Devin didn't ask any questions because it was his first time in a obstetrician's office. He was confused about how to react. Silvi was the one who asked all the questions.Silvi got her next appointment scheduled, and then they left. Devin and Silvi went to the hospital's pharmacy to pick up the prescribed medicines first. Then, Devin asked Silvi where she wanted to go."I don't know. I just feel like lying down in my room.""Why's that? Don't you want to go out together?" Devin asked softly. They were now in the car. "How about having ice cream and buying some new sleepwear for you?""What's the point of buying sleepwear?""Because you're pregnant, and I want you to sleep comfortably. How about it?""I don't want to," Silvi said, maki
184As a father, whose heart wouldn't break upon learning that his daughter is pregnant with no official partner by her side? He felt like a terrible father, willing to do anything as long as the man who impregnated his daughter, Silvi, would take responsibility.Pregnancy is never an easy journey for a woman, especially without a husband by her side. The man Silvi referred to as the father finally decided to find Devin, the man who should be held accountable for what happened to Silvi. He took a taxi to Devin's whereabouts, hoping that he would indeed be there. Impatiently sitting in the taxi, the weary-looking man, no longer in his youth, stared at his phone screen. The journey from the city to the village was quite long, which was why he opted for a taxi. Besides, he didn't want any unpleasant conversations about Silvi if he had brought his driver along.Fortunately, he found out about Silvi's pregnancy before it was too late, or who knows what might have happened. He sighed wearil
183Nicholas didn't want anything to happen to their unborn child. So, he tried his best to grant her wishes. Besides, Alesya's request was relatively easy to fulfill, and it had been quite some time since they had visited her hometown."Are you happy?" Nicholas asked.Alesya turned and nodded. "I've really missed my hometown. As nice as it is to live in the city, the hometown is the number one place to visit," Alesya replied. "Besides, all my childhood memories are buried there."Hearing Alesya's response, Nicholas could only smile. He, who had lived in the city since childhood, never experienced life in the village. So, he didn't fully understand what Alesya meant. In his mind, Alesya might just miss the peaceful atmosphere of the village because the city was quite noisy."Get some rest; I'll wake you up when we arrive," Nicholas said after a moment of silence."Okay."Alesya adjusted her seating position to make herself more comfortable. She also slightly reclined her seat to make
