The blades caught him full force, tearing at his skin and clothing, sending him crashing to the ground. He landed hard on his back, the wind knocked out of him. He struggled to catch his breath as he coughed out blood. His entire body was burning but it was nothing compared to the ache in his heart. The regret, guilt, and shame.

He had been thinking of Ral since the day he broke up with him. He missed him so much and he wanted him back. After much thinking, he had decided to find him and apologise. He wanted to get back together with him but when he saw him with Fredrick, he lost his mind. He couldn’t stand it. He thought everything Ral had said to him were lies. He thought Ral had played with his feelings.

But all along…. He was the one misunderstanding.

He laid there, helpless and battered, unable to move or defend himself. He didn't even try. The pain was nothing compared to the weight of his guilt, the crushing burden of knowing what he had done. He closed his eyes, feeling the te

As the wind howled, Alaric gazed at Zedekiel's face one last time, his expression a mix of sadness and resolve. With a heavy heart, he slowly lowered the spear, its point hovering just above Zedekiel's chest before withdrawing it completely. He turned away from Zedekiel and vanished into the swirling wind.********“Oh my God.” Prince Ludiciel sobbed, wiping his tears with the back of his hand. “I can’t believe Ron sacrificed so much for my brother.”“He did.” Alaric smiled, handing him a white handkerchief which he used to wipe his tears and blow his nose. “And I’m sure he’d do the exact same thing or more if time were reversed.”“You know, I won’t be surprised.” Prince Ludiciel sniffled. “Ron took an arrow for my brother some weeks back. Fredrick attacked them in the castle and he protected my brother with his own body. Brother didn’t trust Ron from the beginning. He always thought Ron had some ulterior motive for following his sister to our Kingdom but that day changed it all. Ron

Zedekiel wanted to take out the pin from his hair which was a gift Ron had given him the day he was kidnapped but then, he realised that the pin would not work for Ron only had it for a short while. It wasn’t even up to a day. Just when he was thinking he’d have to go back and get something, he suddenly remembered that he had an object that might work. He quickly fished out a tiny bell from an opening in his belt.“Will this work?” He asked, holding up the bell for Alaric to see.Prince Ludiciel's eyes narrowed as he furrowed his brow, his mind racing to recall the exact memory that was tantalizingly out of reach. “I think I’ve seen that before…”“I found it after the masked dancer ran away during the talent show.” Zedekiel said, a small smile gracing his lips as he recalled the night he found the bell. The thought that Prince Ron was the masked dancer never crossed his mind until he traced the scent back to his room. Then, he was quite angry and confused after knowing the truth but n

"So if the Dark Lord were to appear now and command you to kill Fredrick, would you.”“Yes.”“Hmmm, what does the Dark Lord look like?”“We do not know.”Prince Ron was surprised. “You do not know what your own Lord looks like?”“Yes.”Prince Ron shrugged and they continued to walk. Oh well, it didn’t matter what the Dark Lord looks like anyway. He won’t need the information for his plan. He trusted that his beloved was searching for him but he didn’t want to sit and wait for the wedding preparations were almost done. He felt that he’d rather turn into a Darkling than marry the lunatic.“Oh darling, why do you choose to hurt me this way?” He heard that annoying voice ask as they stepped into the room. “Why are you always trying to escape?”Fredrick sat at the edge of the bed, his dark blue robes billowing around him like a shroud. His blonde hair was a dishevelled mess, as if he'd been running his fingers through it repeatedly. His eyes seemed to dance with an inner storm, the pupils

Prince Ron was jolted awake by the sound of hurried footsteps and raised voices. Groggy from sleep, he attempted to sit up but found himself weak and unable to muster the strength, causing him to slump back onto the bed. His vision was foggy and a sense of unease crept over him—why did he feel so depleted when he hadn't exerted himself? He gasped. Did Frederick discover his hidden stash of food and drug him? If so, what kind of drug could it be? Dread gripped him as he feared the worst. It couldn't be an aphrodisiac, could it? He would bite the lunatic to death before he allowed anything to happen between them.“You’re awake.” He heard a very familiar voice say and his heart leaped into his throat as he turned to see the one person he had yearned for deeply. His vision wasn’t clear yet but he could still make out his beloved standing there in his regal dark robes and his flowing silver hair framing his handsome face.“Your Majesty!” he exclaimed, trying to get up so he could hug his b

"Calm down, darling." Zedekiel said chuckling lightly. "We're finally getting married. We're going to be together forever. I thought you'd be happy.""I am happy." Prince Ron clarified. "I do want to marry you. I just wish you waited until I woke up so we could plan together.""I wanted to." Zedekiel said. "But after Fredrick took you before my very eyes, I just couldn't wait. I want us to bond. That way, no one can ever separate us again."Prince Ron could recall his beloved talking about bonding one time but he didn't go into details."Don't worry darling. I'll explain everything after the wedding." Zedekiel assured. "We can even hold the kind of wedding you want after this one. You'll be in charge of everything. I will not interfere. I promise."Hearing that, Prince Ron felt satisfied. They reached the Mother Tree and stood under it, facing each other.Prince Ron felt a little nervous. This was what he had always wanted. A blinding flash of light appeared, almost blinding everyone and from it emerged a majestic Elf, dressed in striking black and gold robes. His silver hair flowed behind him like a banner, and his violet coloured eyes were sharp and deadly. He carried his sword of ice, the blade shimmering with a cold, ethereal glow.Fredrick began to tremble. The sight of Zedekiel stepping out of the array sent shivers down his spine. The Elf King's commanding presence and the lethal glint in his violet eyes pierced through Fredrick's bravado. His heart pounded in his chest, fear creeping into every corner of his being. He felt like rolling into a ball and burying himself deep underground where no one would find him."Y-You.....how?" He stuttered, eyes wide with fear. "You're not supposed to be here. You're not supposed to find us so soon."But Zedekiel didn't care for Fredrick just yet. He gazed at Prince Ron feeling relieved. Finally. Finally, he found him.Zedekiel took a step towards Prince Ron bu

With each wave of Darklings that charged at them, Zedekiel’s strikes grew fiercer. He utilized his sword’s ice magic to create barriers of frost around Alaric and Ron, temporarily freezing the Darklings in place but more kept slithering out of the ground, climbing over the barriers."Look at how you're struggling, dear cousin." Fredrick mocked, cackling like a mad man. "This isn't even a quarter of the Dark Lord's army yet, you cannot defeat them. What will happen when the true Dark Lord is finally released? Oh well, you won't know anyway. I'll make sure they end you all here!"Today was definitely the best day of Fredrick's life.Meanwhile...What was a battlefield to everyone was a grand hall to Prince Ron. He stood at the center, adorned with flowers and filled with the soft murmur of guests and classical music. His family, friends, and everyone else he held dear were present, all smiling and showering him with pink flowers. His beloved stood at the altar, his violet coloured eyes

"B-But-""I'm truly fine." Zedekiel insisted, his heart warming at the sight of Prince Ron being so concerned. "Look."He took off the tattered robe and Prince Ron watched in awe as the wounds healed up quickly. His beloved's skin returned to it's original state. The only thing left was the blood but that was not an issue.Prince Ron let out a sigh of relief. He then remembered something and punched his beloved on the arm. "What took you so long to find me? Do you know how lonely I was?" He turned around and folded his arms, sulking like a wronged wife. "You left me with a maniac who starved me and choked me. I am very angry. No amount of sweet things you say will make me forgive you."Some of the Darklings climbed over the frozen ones, trying to get to Zedekiel and Prince Ron."Will you guys stop attacking for a moment?!" Prince Ron shouted at the Darklings, clearly annoyed.Dumbfounded, the Darkling paused with their swords raised, not knowing what to do."Jeez, you guys can't even

Did that thing do anything to you?" he whispered back, brushing a soft kiss against Ron’s temple. "Are you uncomfortable anywhere?"Prince Ron shook his head, biting his lip nervously. "No, it’s not that. It’s just... there’s something you need to know."Zedekiel frowned, concerned. "What is it, love? You can tell me anything."Prince Ron took a deep shaky breath, about to tell his beloved about their babies when his gaze landed on his belly and his eyes widened in utter disbelief. He completely froze as he tried to process what he was seeing. There, protruding before him, was his enormous, round belly. It was so large that he couldn’t even see his own feet.He suddenly let out a tiny squeak of horror, his face going pale and before anyone could say anything, Ron’s eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot.Zedekiel looked at everyone and they all began to

Even in his ghost-like form, Kayziel was completely red in anger. "Again, NOBODY ASKED YOU TO!!!"The hands however, did not want to face their Lord's wrath. The Lord never tells his name to ordinary creatures and for the small beautiful prince to mention it, they knew there had to be truth to his words. The hands immediately sped up their work, yanking Kayziel toward the circle with urgency.Kayziel howled, his voice cracking in desperation. "STOP THIS MADNESS! I CAN FIX EVERYTHING! I SWEAR! PLEASE STOP!!!"Prince Ron let go, dusting off his hands as though he’d just finished a hard day’s work. Prince Ron just sat on the floor and tucked his arms to his chest, turning his face away. Hmph! The Elf spirit wanted his help but was calling him a bastard. Was that even how to ask for help? Besides, his beloved was working hard to get them back together. Who was he to interrupt his beloved's work? Whatever was happening to Kayziel was exactly what he deserved."Do you think I'll help you after what you subjected us to for three whole months?" He scoffed, glaring at Kayziel. "Shoo, hurry and go to wherever those hands are taking you."Kayziel gasped in pain, rivulets of tears and mucus running down his face. He screamed as the smoke-like arms pulled him closer to the circle. He could feel the heat of hell singe his feet. "I'm sorry" He began to cry. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry Ron. I'm sorry for everything. Kayziel’s laughter softened into something darker, more insidious, as he stepped closer. “Yes, Ron,” he murmured, his voice a low, chilling caress. “Think about it. Think about it well.” He began circling Ron like a predator stalking its prey, his ghost like form slithering around Ron’s form. “If you take your body, Zedekiel will lose all hope. The rest of your family? They’ll perish, one by one and Netheridge will eventually fall into ruin. The Elves, your kind, might even face extinction. And Zedekiel? Your beloved Zedekiel will live in a world of agony. A world without love..."He paused by Ron’s ear. "A world without you.”His words slithered through Ron’s ear like whispers of a devil, laced with a cruel, hypnotic allure. He moved closer, his hands ghosting over Ron’s trembling shoulders. “Can you truly take your body back, knowing you will be the cause of Zedekiel’s undoing?" He whispered. "Of his suffering for all eternity?”Ron’s breath hitched. His body tensed and his heart be

Alaric nodded, his expression understanding. “Of course.” He turned to the others and gestured toward the cave’s entrance. “Outside, everyone. Give them some space.”The group shuffled out quietly, leaving Zedekiel alone with Ron. As the echoes of their footsteps faded, the cave grew eerily silent.Zedekiel knelt beside the bed, his silver hair falling like a curtain around his face as he rested his hand on Ron’s swollen belly. His other hand found its way to Ron’s chest, where he could feel the faint, steady rhythm of his heartbeat. He lowered his head, pressing it against Ron’s chest. At first, there was only the sound of his own breathing, but then it broke. A small, ragged sob escaped his lips, followed by another then another. Tears spilled down his cheeks, slowly wetting Ron’s robes.“I'm sorry, love,” Zedekiel whispered, his voice breaking. “I'm so so sorry. I left you alone even after I promised to protect you. I let you shoulder the responsibilities that I should have. I-I'm

Elliot knelt beside Rose, his hands glowing faintly as his magic coursed through her twisted arm while she stared at him in awe.Zedekiel had left her on the floor and in pain. Those undead creatures were almost closing in on her and just when she thought she was really going to die on the battlefield, a dark haired man with pointy ears descended from the sky, blowing them all away and in the process, stealing her heart. She gazed up at him with tears and admirations in her eyes. His features looked almost otherworldly among the all chaos happening on the battlefield. He had smooth skin the colour of chocolate milk, dark hair like spun silk that fell in soft waves around his face, and eyes like molten amber, flecked with gold and crimson, which contrasted perfectly with his shimmering silver armour.Rose kept staring, momentarily forgetting her pain for Elliot looked just like the Princes in fairytales she had read to Ron about before bedtime."Okay, you have to stop," Elliot sighed,

Hugh paled and before he could react, Prince Ludiciel moved first, his fist connecting with Hugh’s jaw in a bone-shattering punch. The force sent him flying across the field like a ragdoll. But it didn’t stop there. Talon vanished in a flash and reappeared ahead of Hugh’s trajectory, slamming a powerful kick into his ribs midair. The impact hurled Hugh back toward Ludiciel, who with both hands gripping his sword, brought the hilt down, slamming Hugh into the ground with a resounding crash.Dust and debris erupted around them as Hugh’s body sank into the earth, the necromancer groaning in pain.He coughed, chanting some ancient words and his body shimmered with a sickly green light before dissolving into the soil like water into sand.“Stay alert.” Ludiciel warned, his grip on his sword tightening, his sharp eyes scanning the battlefield."Ugh, necromancers are fucking disgusting." Talon grimaced, his nose wrinkling in revulsion as the stench of rotten corpses filled the air around the

He gasped, unable to believe it. A tear slipped down his cheek, landing softly on the fabric of Ron’s robes. His violet eyes flickered with emotion as he turned to the royal physician and whispered, “It’s true.”The physician nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face. He held hands with Welyn, happy to see their King alive and well again. Never did they think a day will come when they would see their king so emotional and so in love. With a human at that.Zedekiel gazed back at Ron, his expression softening further. “It’s really true,” he whispered. “We’re going to be parents.”Cordin, and the others smiled, their hearts swelling at the sight of their King’s rare happiness. However, Kayziel, still slumped on the floor, went even paler.
