A blinding flash of light appeared, almost blinding everyone and from it emerged a majestic Elf, dressed in striking black and gold robes. His silver hair flowed behind him like a banner, and his violet coloured eyes were sharp and deadly. He carried his sword of ice, the blade shimmering with a cold, ethereal glow.

Fredrick began to tremble. The sight of Zedekiel stepping out of the array sent shivers down his spine. The Elf King's commanding presence and the lethal glint in his violet eyes pierced through Fredrick's bravado. His heart pounded in his chest, fear creeping into every corner of his being. He felt like rolling into a ball and burying himself deep underground where no one would find him.

"Y-You.....how?" He stuttered, eyes wide with fear. "You're not supposed to be here. You're not supposed to find us so soon."

But Zedekiel didn't care for Fredrick just yet. He gazed at Prince Ron feeling relieved. Finally. Finally, he found him.

With each wave of Darklings that charged at them, Zedekiel’s strikes grew fiercer. He utilized his sword’s ice magic to create barriers of frost around Alaric and Ron, temporarily freezing the Darklings in place but more kept slithering out of the ground, climbing over the barriers."Look at how you're struggling, dear cousin." Fredrick mocked, cackling like a mad man. "This isn't even a quarter of the Dark Lord's army yet, you cannot defeat them. What will happen when the true Dark Lord is finally released? Oh well, you won't know anyway. I'll make sure they end you all here!"Today was definitely the best day of Fredrick's life.Meanwhile...What was a battlefield to everyone was a grand hall to Prince Ron. He stood at the center, adorned with flowers and filled with the soft murmur of guests and classical music. His family, friends, and everyone else he held dear were present, all smiling and showering him with pink flowers. His beloved stood at the altar, his violet coloured eyes

The humans have been at war with Elves for thousands of years. The hatred they had for each other runs deep into the depths of their souls, buried right into their bone marrows, to the extent that no human could stand the sight of an Elf and if one is caught, the worst kinds of torture were implemented.Their favourite was cutting off the long pointy ears and nailing them to the walls of their borders. Some even competed on how many ears they’ve nailed. On the other hand, no Elf wanted to hear the word 'human'. In fact, if an Elf should mistakenly pronounce the word 'human', he is immediately executed and if a human is caught, he is turned into a slave and treated like a dog till he dies from exhaustion. The Elves weren't normally this brutal. In fact, they are naturally peaceful creatures and had proposed peace to the humans which was accepted but the human King breached the treaty. He lured the Elf King into his castle under the guise of a feast to celebrate six months of peace th

As they approached the throne room, the guards standing on either side of the large golden double doors pushed them open for the siblings and they they bowed. The siblings found their parents sitting on their thrones. They were the spitting image of their mother while the only thing they got from their dad was their eyes. A few other people Ron recognized were there. Like the Royal Advisor, Physician, members of the royal court and so many others.King Cain was dressed in a golden and maroon attire. He was holding the royal golden scepter which was passed down from generation to generation. He will also pass it down to Ron when it was time. His dark hair was streaked with silvery grey hair which was covered a bit by the golden crown on his head. One look at King Cain would tell anyone he wasn't to be messed with. He had a stoic expression and the hard look in his eyes commanded respect. Ron was most especially afraid of him. Queen Lilian was the epitome of elegance. She was dressed

Ron sneaked out of the castle through his secret route. It was a dark murky pathway underneath his grandfather’s bedroom which led to a cave at a riverside not far from town. His grandfather had showed it to him before he passed away. They used to go on so many escapades together. Witness festivals, celebrations, annual games and competitions and so much more. But after his grandfather died, his father became more strict on him which left barely any time for him to go out and have fun. He didn't like to be indoors all the time like some housewife. He preferred to go out, interact and see what the world was like. Reading from novels wasn't enough. This time, he took one of his grandfather's disguises. It was a black wig and crappy mustache. After he reached the cave, he took off his royal clothes, folded them neatly then stuffed them in a bag. He then put on the wig and mustache, coupled with a dirty brown robe. He looked like a beggar. Exactly what he was going for. As long as he mi

Ron entered two more taverns and even an inn but the information they had wasn't even close to Old Jack's. He was already tired so he decided to go back. Besides, someone might notice he was missing which will raise a lot of trouble for him. When he was halfway out of town, a group of goons appeared on the road. They were big and burly, all holding sharp looking daggers. The leader stepped forward, holding a sword which he pointed at Ron. "Hand over your money. Every bit of it and I'll think about you letting you leave this place alive"Fear crept into Ron's heart. He had never been in this kind of situation before. Worst of all, he didn't carry any weapon. He didn't think there would be any reason to.Sweat dropped the side of his face. He decided to use flattery and some sweet words to see if he could escape with everything he had intact. "Good, kind, handsome man, you look very reasonable. Can't we talk about this?"The goons snickered. It seemed like this guy didn't get the severi

Fear made Ron nearly fall to his knees. Nearly, for the silver haired man caught him before his body made contact with the floor.Ron fell into a warm gentle embrace. He raised his head, parting his long lashes to look at the man holding him. Cold violet eyes stared straight at the running man. Ron felt that there such a huge contrast between being in his arms and those beautiful eyes. "Don't chase him" he said, making those plum coloured orbs stare down at him. "He has never killed a person. I could tell, believe me. If he had, he wouldn't have hesitated so much to kill me. I doubt he would even hurt a fly after what he has witnessed today so please, don't go after him"The fear he initially felt disappeared without a trace. Something told him that the man would not hurt him. The man nodded. "You're injured" he said, eyes sweeping down to look at the bleeding wound on Ron's neck. His voice was deep, alluring and magnetic, tugging at Ron's heartstrings. Perfect. Just perfect!Ron wa

Queen Lilian pulled Ron and squished his face into her bosom. Ron struggled and struggled, trying not to get suffocated by the large mounds on her chest but her hold only went tighter and tighter so he gave up and went limp like a wet noodle. "My baby is going so far away" she sobbed, completely shattering her elegance in the face of her family. Ron knew exactly where he got his personality from. His mother might be cool, calm and collected in front of outsiders but with her family, she was just an ordinary person. She behaved exactly the way she wanted to behave. Ron's only problem was that he couldn't act like that. To him, it was like splitting his personality. He'd rather just be himself.King Cain and Princess Rose stood at the side, watching the mother and son. "Mum come on, I'll be back in at least a week or two. You've seen me every single day since I was born. Don't you think you should take a break? Besides, I'm an adult now so stop treating me like a child" Ron complaine

"Calm down, darling." Zedekiel said chuckling lightly. "We're finally getting married. We're going to be together forever. I thought you'd be happy.""I am happy." Prince Ron clarified. "I do want to marry you. I just wish you waited until I woke up so we could plan together.""I wanted to." Zedekiel said. "But after Fredrick took you before my very eyes, I just couldn't wait. I want us to bond. That way, no one can ever separate us again."Prince Ron could recall his beloved talking about bonding one time but he didn't go into details."Don't worry darling. I'll explain everything after the wedding." Zedekiel assured. "We can even hold the kind of wedding you want after this one. You'll be in charge of everything. I will not interfere. I promise."Hearing that, Prince Ron felt satisfied. They reached the Mother Tree and stood under it, facing each other.Prince Ron felt a little nervous. This was what he had always wanted. Prince Ron was jolted awake by the sound of hurried footsteps and raised voices. Groggy from sleep, he attempted to sit up but found himself weak and unable to muster the strength, causing him to slump back onto the bed. His vision was foggy and a sense of unease crept over him—why did he feel so depleted when he hadn't exerted himself? He gasped. Did Frederick discover his hidden stash of food and drug him? If so, what kind of drug could it be? Dread gripped him as he feared the worst. It couldn't be an aphrodisiac, could it? He would bite the lunatic to death before he allowed anything to happen between them.“You’re awake.” He heard a very familiar voice say and his heart leaped into his throat as he turned to see the one person he had yearned for deeply. His vision wasn’t clear yet but he could still make out his beloved standing there in his regal dark robes and his flowing silver hair framing his handsome face.“Your Majesty!” he exclaimed, trying to get up so he could hug his b

"So if the Dark Lord were to appear now and command you to kill Fredrick, would you.”“Yes.”“Hmmm, what does the Dark Lord look like?”“We do not know.”Prince Ron was surprised. “You do not know what your own Lord looks like?”“Yes.”Prince Ron shrugged and they continued to walk. Oh well, it didn’t matter what the Dark Lord looks like anyway. He won’t need the information for his plan. He trusted that his beloved was searching for him but he didn’t want to sit and wait for the wedding preparations were almost done. He felt that he’d rather turn into a Darkling than marry the lunatic.“Oh darling, why do you choose to hurt me this way?” He heard that annoying voice ask as they stepped into the room. “Why are you always trying to escape?”Fredrick sat at the edge of the bed, his dark blue robes billowing around him like a shroud. His blonde hair was a dishevelled mess, as if he'd been running his fingers through it repeatedly. His eyes seemed to dance with an inner storm, the pupils

Zedekiel wanted to take out the pin from his hair which was a gift Ron had given him the day he was kidnapped but then, he realised that the pin would not work for Ron only had it for a short while. It wasn’t even up to a day. Just when he was thinking he’d have to go back and get something, he suddenly remembered that he had an object that might work. He quickly fished out a tiny bell from an opening in his belt.“Will this work?” He asked, holding up the bell for Alaric to see.Prince Ludiciel's eyes narrowed as he furrowed his brow, his mind racing to recall the exact memory that was tantalizingly out of reach. “I think I’ve seen that before…”“I found it after the masked dancer ran away during the talent show.” Zedekiel said, a small smile gracing his lips as he recalled the night he found the bell. The thought that Prince Ron was the masked dancer never crossed his mind until he traced the scent back to his room. Then, he was quite angry and confused after knowing the truth but n

As the wind howled, Alaric gazed at Zedekiel's face one last time, his expression a mix of sadness and resolve. With a heavy heart, he slowly lowered the spear, its point hovering just above Zedekiel's chest before withdrawing it completely. He turned away from Zedekiel and vanished into the swirling wind.********“Oh my God.” Prince Ludiciel sobbed, wiping his tears with the back of his hand. “I can’t believe Ron sacrificed so much for my brother.”“He did.” Alaric smiled, handing him a white handkerchief which he used to wipe his tears and blow his nose. “And I’m sure he’d do the exact same thing or more if time were reversed.”“You know, I won’t be surprised.” Prince Ludiciel sniffled. “Ron took an arrow for my brother some weeks back. Fredrick attacked them in the castle and he protected my brother with his own body. Brother didn’t trust Ron from the beginning. He always thought Ron had some ulterior motive for following his sister to our Kingdom but that day changed it all. Ron
