Chapter 12; The Drizzling Rain

The rain was done falling and only the drizzles were what kept on going.

Eleanorah tossed around on her bed, unable to sleep.

She couldn't bring herself to do so while her mind was somewhere else. The tombstone she had seen at the garden. Was it really Vincenzo's brother's or his mother's. Who was it that had died that made him plant colorful flowers at his garden.

These questions churned deep within her and had her glancing occasionally where Dmitri stood to ascertain whether he was asleep or was still watching over her.

Seeing that her plans might be successful without a glitch when she heard him snoring, she tiptoed out of her bed and carrying the lantern that was on the table, she walked quietly out of the room, heading outside the passage.

Surely the don wouldn't be awake by then, it was midnight. Even if he were to be awake, there was no way he would find out that she was not in her room nor whether she had gone to the garden.
