"You don't want her to work in my company then where else can I get her a job? Do you really think that I am going to make one of my business partners give one of your irresponsible friends a job?" Pascal asked angrily.

Although he did not want to, he can give Candice's friend a job in his company. This will mean that if anything happens with her, he can bear the consequences himself because it's his company.

If it's not his company though, he can't bear the consequences if Candice friend messes things up there. His reputation will have to take a hit because he's the one who talked a business partner into giving her a job.
