Seventy Eight

ARABELLA POV

Mrs. Dingy was waiting for me when I exited the theatre room. I quickly took off my gloves and washed my hands, forcing myself to stop from touching my face. I’m going to have to shower later, but first I needed to speak to her. To think that I overestimated her and my judgment was depressing. That child could have died from the little narrow time that she was wasting.

“Dr. Emma!” she gushed immediately she saw me, her hands fluttering aimlessly in the air. “Please how is she? Will she survive?”

“If she doesn’t, it’ll be entirely your fault.”

She immediately paled at my words. I won’t take it back; that child was so very close to death, so very close. She had nearly crossed over if not for the standby machines that we had at hand. At least the Alpha of the pack made sure to provide them with the necessary equipment to control incidents like these, but I guess you cannot control a mother’s stupidity.

“I’m so sorry,” the woman said “I didn’t mean to upset you.”
