A challenging life

She had a look of finality and I knew she really meant what she said. I still went ahead to confirm from her own mouth. 

“Are you really going to do this mom?”

“Yes and it's a final decision.”

“I am sorry mom, but I'll have to step out of this door. I hope one day you'll get to know the reasons behind my action. Take care of yourselves.”

I step out of the hospital room and disguise myself as before heading to the house. I had to pack a few things I had and wait for Mr. King’s driver to pick me up. 

I knew deep in my heart that this was going to be the last time I get in touch with my family. 

I will still take care of them from afar.

I stood looking around the house I had stayed in all my life. I'll be leaving this house for a whole year. I was going to miss the questions from Lisa and the happy moments as well. 

When I left the hospital, I went home directly and packed the few things I felt were important. 

Derrik had called some time ago to let me know the driver was in his way. 

While I continued looking around, taking in all the memories of this house and the rooms, I heard a silent door ring and went to check it out. 

“Miss Andrea right?” The driver asked the moment I opened the door. 

This was different from the other drivers I had seen with Derrik. I was thinking he will be an old man but he looked young and vibrant

“Yes, I'm Andrea.”

“Mr. King asked that I bring you. Please get in the car and I'll bring your luggage.”

I stepped out of the door and looked at the house one more time before I finally got in the car. 

Lisa and Laurel decided to sleep at the hospital out of anger. They didn't inform me but I realized they had made that decision when none of them came home. 

Sitting silently in that car, I was sure of one thing, my life was never going to be the same again.

There I stood, in front of the King's mansion. A house I had never dreamt of staying in. A situation I had never thought of happening. 

You are here for a purpose Andrea. Get that done and move out of here. 

This was going to be my own motivational words until everything is over. 

Once again, the driver offered to help me with my luggage into the house. He was the nicest of Derrik's men I've ever encountered. 

The inside of the house left me awestruck. The furniture, the lights and the parlor as well everything was magnificent. 

Right there on the couch, I saw someone I didn't want to meet. Someone I didn't prepare myself both mentally and physically to come across. 

Mr. Johan King. 

“I see you've succeeded getting your way into this house.” He started, as he dropped the wine he was holding and walked towards me. 

“What do you want? Is it money, properties, which of them do you want?”

“I love your son sir.” I replied in my attempt to convince him. 

He gave a bitter laugh and turned to look at me with sharp eyes. I felt I could pee at that very moment. 

“I will let you off the hook today since it's already late but let me remind you, you will not get a dime from this family.” His tone was firm when he said that. 

All this while, the driver had sent my things to a room upstairs. Since I didn't know anywhere, I asked that he direct me to the room where he sent my bag. 

Living in this house wasn't going to be easy but I was ready to embrace all the challenges.
