CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

“So, you’re a mother now?” He asked when my brothers and sisters left the room.

“Yeah. What’s wrong with that?”

“Nothing. So, who’s the father?”

“I don’t know.”

“What? What do you mean you don’t know?”

“Just a one night stand.”

He chuckled sarcastically. “Hm-mm.”

“What you gonna say if he looked for a father?”

I became silent. I actually don’t know. I didn’t think of that. How would my Nico feel if he finds out that he doesn’t have a dad? Just thinking of it kills me.

“Hey...?”

“I don’t know,” I said, “And it’s my problem, okay? Don’t meddle with me being a mother.”

“I’m not meddling, I’m trying to help.”

“Then, thanks but no thanks! I don’t need any help!”

He sighed and the whole trip became silent. The hell? The atmosphere just became awkward. Thanks to my harsh mouth.

After a hour of driving, we’re finally at my Condo unit. I’m back in Pampanga again.
