CHAPTER FIVE: SHE MET HIM

I woke up in my hotel room. I don't know how. I thought I was dead. I stood up and went to the bathroom to take a bath.

As the shower water fell from my hair, all my thoughts were also washed away. I looked into the bathtub and decided to rest there.

I don't know how many hours it took me to shower, but when I came out, the two were already dressed. Molly invited us to eat because we haven't had breakfast yet and went straight here. 

The food was good. I chose what food I eat because I am allergic to seafood. I almost forgot about my allergies because of almost eating oysters.

Time passed quickly. It was already afternoon so I thought of inviting Moli and Jill to go jet skiing. They agreed and decided to do what we used to do. We walked towards the sea and played a racing game. As we used to do, whoever loses has a punishment while the winner has an award, and I don’t want to lose because I know my friends have a demon in their minds. I'm sure they won't do well to me because I know they will retaliate. After all, I left them five years ago, especially Jill. 

I am determined to win. I was halfway to the finish line when I was suddenly hit by Jill on the side and Moli on the back. My jet ski almost twisted and I almost fell. I glared at them, but the two sneered and laughed at me. 

“Hey! You two! That's unfair! You’re sabotaging me! You both are being mean! Bullies!”  I cried at them but they just laughed. “Do you think it's funny, huh? It's not! I almost fell!” I added and with that, they shut their mouths.

I smiled in my mind and became even more determined to win. I was so close to the finish line— so close to my victory when I caught sight of those addictive green eyes. I turned around and went to the place where the owner of those eyes was. He was laughing with his friends and when he noticed that I'm there, he immediately turned to me and stopped laughing. His companions also turned to me as my eyes widened. Fuck! Why did I come here? 

I saw him smirking at me and some of his friend’s eyebrows raised. My cheeks turned bright red. I blushed, even more, when I heard the cries of my shameless friends. 

"Oh, you idiot! Why did you change the way? Flirt now, a punishment later!" I heard Moli teased, and they laughed, and the guy's smirk grew bigger. Shame on you, Agatha!

The next day, the three of us toured around the resort together. Jill brought us to the tourist spots of this place. Moli was hesitant to come but Jill was able to persuade her.

"Just make sure we're going well because otherwise, I’ll hit you!" Moli threatened, but the man was not serious and even saluted her. 

“Do you have menstruation today?” Jill teased her even more.

"Jill, don't annoy her anymore. Congratulations because otherwise, I’ll hit you both!" Jill asked for Moli’s forgiveness and everything came back to normal.

We were already touring for a few hours when we decided to take a break. The resort is beautiful. There is a poolside, a beach and other relaxing spots. Everything is here. From hotels, tourist spots, and relaxing places. If there are any, I would like to go to fall. 

We planned to go surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Moli stayed on the side and volunteered to videotape Jill and me because she doesn’t have any idea on how to surf. 

My face flushed as I remembered Moli’s punishment for me. It’s too much shame. They said that the next time I see that green-eyed man, I’d have to kiss him. Goodness. What was she thinking?!

I ran to the beach to swim. We had just finished surfing and my two good friends preferred sunbathing while eating sliced fruit.7

“Awe!” I yelled in shock when water splashed on my face. Some even went in my nose. Annoyed, I roamed my eyes around. Who did that?! I turned to one side and saw the green-eyed man! Oh, my god. Again?!

"You again?" I ejaculated, annoyed at him. He seemed embarrassed to look at me and suddenly averted his eyes from me. He would have opened his mouth to speak but I spoke. "Yesterday, you ‘accidentally’ threw a basketball at me—who on earth would bring a basketball on the beach? and now, you're splashing me with seawater! Tell me, are you pulling a trick on me?"

He shook his head repeatedly and walked closer to me. "So--sorry. I... I didn't mean to do that to you," he said looking down. "It's... it's my friends," he added. He can't look at me, he can't speak directly and he's stuttering. He’s nervous? Is Celine right when she said that I have an intimidating aura? Well, I can say so.

I scoffed. “Huh! Now you're saying that it's your friends who are pulling tricks on me?” I was about to speak when I heard Jill's voice calling me.

“Hey, Tati! What are you doing here?” he asked before turning to the guy beside me. “Woah! Hey dude! what ya doin' here?” he asked, giving a bro hug to the guy.

“Oh, nothing'! I'm just, uh, having a vacation,” the green-eyed guy said.

I was confused as they both looked. "Wait, you two knew each other?" I asked curiously, and they both nodded.

“Wait, how?”

“Duh, girl? He's the friend I'm talking about! The one who owns half of this resort,” he explained as my eyes widely opened in shock.

“Is… is that real?” I asked the green-eyed guy.

“Yup, Caleb Silva at your service, ma'am,” the guy smirked as I turned my back on them. What the actual fuck was that? Am I dreaming? Oh, goodness gracious! How many times do I have to humiliate myself in front of that guy? Just great, Agatha!

"Wait, you two know each other, too?" He asked, confused.

"No!" I immediately answered. "Uh, I mean, no. How could I know him?"

"But you two are talking like you know each other." Molly stated.

"Oh, because we met before. This guy, he hit me with a basketball ball earlier when I was wandering around, and just earlier, again. He splashed a fucking water unto my face."

"Oh… what an unfortunate meet-up," Jill commented.

"Anyway, Caleb, my man. We're planning to eat now, why don't you join us?" Jill invited.

The guy smiled. "Thank you, but you see, I also have my company to entertain."

Jill nodded. "Oh, sure! Have a nice vacation, then." He said and we departed our ways.
