For centuries, the legend of the monsters dwelling in the forbidden forest known as "Hidden Greenery" has been passed down from one generation to the next. However, despite the persistent belief, these creatures have never been seen for quite some time.
They may have gone into hiding, or maybe they were forced out by humans who deemed themselves as righteous, while labeling anything different or unusual as evil.
Humans have their own ways of distinguishing evil from good. And for Yuri, those who wronged her will always be the villains in her life.
"Yuri, how are you feeling?" Simon asked with concern etched on his face.
Yuri tilted her head and met his gaze before nodding in response. However, her attention quickly shifted to the raindrops cascading down the car window, mirroring the melancholy that weighed heavy on her heart.
Yuri and her friends had embarked on a camping trip to lift her spirits. Unfortunately, the weather seemed to have other plans, drenching them in a downpour that matched the gloominess of Yuri's mood.
As they made their way back home, the road was slick with rain. Kevin, their driver, took extra care to navigate the treacherous conditions. The group knew that if the weather continued to be unpredictable, their camping trip would have to be cut short.
Yuri sat quietly in the corner; her gaze fixed on the raindrops pelting the window. Her friends exchanged worried glances and whispered amongst themselves.
"Yuri doesn't seem herself. And this rain isn't helping," one of them remarked.
"Can you blame her? Chase's sudden engagement must have come as a shock," another chimed in.
Strength entered Yuri’s hand, which was neatly placed on her lap.
Engagement.
It was a word she had hoped not to hear for some time.
Against all opposition, Yuri loved Chase for years. Yet now, he was engaged to another woman. Well, Chase was not an ordinary man. He is the heir of the Bimon Corporation, so everyone expected that he would not have an ordinary marriage either. Chase had to marry a woman from a wealthy household.
The woman whom Chase will marry is the eldest daughter of the Governor. She studied at Harvard and is the owner of a Five-star hotel.
Chase, who achieved a lot during his earlier years, and a beautiful young lady who grew up like a princess. It was natural for their parents to come together and create a romantic story with them as the main characters.
But Yuri was different.
She had graduated later than her peers because she had to work and support herself while studying. Her parents had tragically passed away in an accident, and she had been forced to endure a life of abuse under her aunt's care.
Her existence was plagued with misery and agony, until she met Chase and fell deeply in love.
Yuri had no doubt that their love would bear fruit someday. So, she loved him for six years, very desperately.
However, all hopes were shattered as soon as Chase told her that he would be engaged to another woman.
["This is my parents' will, but let me assure you, Yuri, that my love for you remains here in my heart. This is purely a business decision. Even if I were to marry that woman, you will always be the only woman for me."]
“Haaaaaaa…”
Yuri let out a heavy sigh as she replayed the words that had caught her off guard, spoken by none other than Chase.
She couldn't fathom that after dedicating her entire life, her youth, her aspirations, and her physical being to him, he had the audacity to suggest that she become his mistress.
Yuri chewed the flesh behind her lips.
‘I never dreamed of being a mistress,’ she told herself.
Yuri finds Chase to be more dreadful than any monster she could ever imagine. She struggles to comprehend how she could have fallen for such a self-centered man!
As the car pressed on, the rain relentlessly pounded against the windshield, making the journey slower than anticipated. However, halting midway was not an option, so they persevered through the night, careening through the mountainous terrain.
As they delved deeper into the mountain, the incline grew steeper, causing Yuri's companions to question whether their desire to camp further than usual was to blame.
Yet, their self-doubt was short-lived as the car began to shake violently!
Krkkkkl!
It wasn't just the car, though.
The very ground beneath them was trembling!
‘What’s happening?’ Yuri asked.
Suddenly, the driver let out a frantic scream.
“It’s a landslide!”
There was no time to make a U-turn. In the blink of an eye, a massive heap of rubble crashed into the car, catching everyone off guard!
“Ahhhh!”
Bang!
Rumble!
Bam!
In a split second, Yuri's world turned upside down.
The car jolted violently, as if a seismic tremor had struck it.
Desperately, she clung to one corner, but the force was too great, and she tumbled inside.
The impact of the seat slamming into her back and the door flinging open elicited a blood-curdling scream from her lips.
“Ahhh! Ugh!”
Pain and disorientation engulfed Yuri, threatening to drag her unconsciousness. She fought to stay alert, gasping for air as she struggled to make sense of what had just happened.
“Haaa…. Haaa… Haaa….”
The half-destroyed car dangled precariously over the edge of the cliff.
It swayed dangerously, threatening to plunge into the abyss below at any moment!
Despite her fear, Yuri gritted her teeth and held on for dear life. However, the ground beneath her feet had been softened by the rain, and she knew it was only a matter of time before it gave way.
“Accck!”
She slipped. Yuri grabbed a piece of metal from the car, but she wasn’t sure how much she could hold out.
Einggkkkkkk! Creaking sounds echoed.
The car leaned further, and Yuri had no strength left. The raindrops also did not help.
“Yuri! Hold on!”
She heard her friends shouting. At least, she was relieved that they were alive.
“Oh my god! Yuri!”
“Get a rope!”
“I can’t see the rope!”
“Flashlight! Give me a flashlight!”
Hearing the restless voices alternating together with the raindrops, Yuri surprisingly did not feel any emotions.
‘If I stay alive, then what?’ she asked herself.
She will go back home and hear news of Chase’s marriage. That would be too painful to bear.
‘It’s okay. You’ll be fine. You don’t deserve him.’
She was tired of hearing the same comforts that never eased her head.
“Ha. Ha. Ha.”
Yuri laughed. She did not even know why she was laughing in this situation.
Was it because she accepted her fate? Or because she knew she could not hold on anymore?Yuri loosened her hold. Her friends shouted at her.
“Yuri!”
“No!”
‘I am afraid,’ Yuri thought while falling. But at the same time, she felt a sense of freedom for an unknown reason.
Yuri closed her eyes.
She wondered how Chase would react if he heard of her death.
That person who she loved so much.
That person who taught her light.
And that person who betrayed her.
With her death, Yuri wished that person to be in agony forever.
“Ugh! Ugh!”Yuri let out a raspy cough as she struggled to pry open her heavy eyelids. Her mind was foggy and disoriented as she tried to piece together her surroundings.‘Where am I?’ She vaguely remembered plummeting off a cliff moments ago and assumed she must be at the mountain's base. However, the pitch-black darkness enveloping her made it impossible to discern anything in her immediate vicinity. The rain had stopped. And yet, she felt the chills all over her body because she had been soaked in water for a long time.Gasping for breath, she was bewildered about how she had survived.‘The cliff was so high. Why did I not die?’She raised her hand, wincing at the scratches and bruises from the rough terrain. Despite the pain, she seemed to be relatively unscathed.Struggling to her feet, she grunted as she pushed aside a fallen tree that had trapped her. “Ugh! Come on! Ahh!”She finally lifted her ankle from the fallen tree, but standing still was difficult due to her injuries.“
Drip, drip, drip. The cold water dripping down on Yuri’s forehead gently opened her eyes. Gradually, her senses were awakened by the soft glow of light that surrounded her, causing her vision to become slightly blurred. The first thing that caught her eye was the sight of the tree roots above her, glistening with water droplets. Yuri jolted awake, disoriented and confused. She quickly scanned her surroundings, trying to piece together where she was."Where am I?" she muttered, her head throbbing with pain.As she struggled to sit up, she let out a groan of discomfort. But to her surprise, she realized that her body was no longer cold. In fact, she was covered in a thick cloth that provided warmth and comfort.Looking around, she spotted a bonfire burning nearby, casting a warm glow over the area. But she was alone.‘My friends aren’t here yet.’ Then, she remembered the man she saw before losing consciousness.“Was it him?”At the same time, a rustling sound was heard. She raised her
The next day, Yuri woke up and found that her body was only covered with a cloak.“Oh my god!”She hugged herself and looked at North, only to see Mikhail holding her clothes. The man, who washed her clothes, blinked his eyes while looking at her.“W-What did you do? D-Did you just take off my clothes?” Yuri asked in a bewildered voice. With a calm demeanor, Mikhail explained, "Your clothes were dirty and wet."Yuri was taken aback and protested, "But it's not appropriate for a man like you to remove my clothes without my consent."Mikhail's gaze lingered on her body, making Yuri feel self-conscious and embarrassed.“W-What?” she asked.“Your body is different from mine,” he said.“Huh?”“So different,” he added, hanging her clothes on a tall rock.Yuri was perplexed by Mikhail's assertion that his body was dissimilar to hers. While it is widely accepted that men and women possess distinct physical characteristics, it appeared that Mikhail had only recently come to this realization.
“Mikhail.”“Hmm?”“If you want to know more about those feelings, I can help you.”It was a stake. Yuri didn’t even know why she was offering this to Mikhail. But he saved her life and comforted her unknowingly when she gave up living.Chase will marry someone else and take his soon-to-be bride to bed. Yuri thought there was nothing wrong with having a relationship with another man. At the back of her head, she wanted to take revenge on Chase.‘If he has another woman, why can’t I have another man too?’ she thought.Mikhail doesn’t seem like a human. Nonetheless, Yuri doesn’t see a problem with that at all. He’s handsome, and he seemed kind.‘Perhaps it will be worth it to give my body to a man like him,’ a desperate thought of a brokenhearted woman.“Are you telling me you will allow me to do everything I want with you?” Mikhail asked. With her heart beating so fast, Yuri nodded.Mikhail gazed deeply into her luscious, rounded eyes and saw his own reflection staring back at him.Is t
Yuri’s POV There were times when I did not even think that my love for Chase would come true. I liked that Chase at least felt sexually attracted to me. And I had a wrong impression that the act of pouring into me was Chase's uncontrollable passion for love. There was enough pleasure in forcing myself to fit in with Chase’s tendency to enjoy rough relationships, and I really believed that it was the type of love I would achieve. ‘He loved me so much that’s why he could not control his rough desire,’ I was drowned into such belief. But when Mikhail kissed me, I realized that such desperate feelings aren’t always needed to feel pleasure. And that’s why I failed to control my emotions and burst out. It wasn’t because I felt guilty for kissing Mikhail. It was because of the realization his kiss brought me. “W-Why…Why are you crying?” Mikhail asked as I sobbed uncontrollably. I could not answer. Words caught in my throat. “I am sorry,” he apologized blindly. “I must have done some
Yuri’s POV“What are you, Mikhail?”“I am a werewolf.” The “Hidden Greenery” sure holds the biggest secret in the world.I looked at the man who claimed to be a beast – something I only heard from my friends who lived with their fantasies in books.Never did I try reading a werewolf story because I never believed they existed, nor did I want to convince myself of it? But here I am, sitting before an open book of mystery.“Don’t tell me you’ll be taking me to the Pack because I’ll be eaten?” I managed to crack a joke to hide my bewilderment.“We don’t eat humans,” Mikhail said. “If we do, then I should have eaten you before. Because you tasted so sweet, Yuri.”The smile on my lips vanished. This man perhaps did not know he was a female swooner. He looks innocent but dangerously sensual because of his sincerity.I forged a cough and looked away from this beast.“I did not cry because you did something wrong,” I confessed. “It was only because I remembered bad memories of Chase. That’s
Mikhail’s POV I am a lone wolf, banished from the Ever-Green Pack. I roam the forest, a solitary figure in the moonlight. My curse is a burden I bear alone, bestowed upon me by the Goddess of the Moon at my birth. All the werewolves in the pack knew what my curse was. The curse to kill every she-wolves in the Pack. The Elder, Gregor, told me the story of how the female werewolves began to die one by one after my birth. Even my own mother, who had held me so lovingly in her arms, eventually succumbed to the curse. My father, unable to bear the loss of my mother, grew to despise me. His grief consumed him, and he eventually took his own life. It was then that the Alpha and the Elder made the decision to banish me from the Pack. Once I was gone, the female werewolves barely survived. However, as time passed, they, too, perished until only one remained. The survival of this last she-wolf was crucial, as her death would mean the end of the lineage for everyone in the pack. I had no int
Mikhail’s POV With Gregor's guidance, Yuri and I were ushered to the Alpha’s house. The male werewolves of the Pack kept on following us from behind as if they were looking for an opportunity to snatch Yuri away from me.I was making sure no one touched her, not even the strand of her hair.“Mikhail,” Yuri whispered.I turned to look at her, my eyes scanning her face for any signs of fear or fear. She had displayed a frightened expression earlier when she saw me growl, but now, Yuri seemed to have regained her composure and was no longer wary of me."Where are we going?" she asked.I leaned closer to her, my nostrils flaring as I caught a whiff of her sweet scent. It distracted me for a moment, but I quickly regained my focus and answered her question."To the Alpha's house," I said."Alpha?" Yuri repeated, her brow furrowing in confusion. "I didn't ask you about that. I know the meaning of Alpha in literature, but I have no idea what an Alpha means in werewolves. My friends might kn
Third Person’s POVThe werewolves were in a feast because of the upcoming Blue Moon Ceremony. However, Doctor Cyrus found Theodore sitting next to the river. It was the same river where Yuri almost drowned three hundred years ago.“Hey,” Cyrus called.Theodore paused and looked at the Doctor.“Why are you here, alone? Everyone was busy, but you’re spending your time here alone,” Cyrus said as he took the seat next to Theodore.“Speak for yourself. You are alone too,” Theodore replied, throwing a stone into the river.Cyrus chuckled and nodded his head. “That’s right. I am a loner, too, I guess. I brought beers from the human world. Want to share together?”Theodore smiled, and he got the beer from Cyrus. The two of them drank their beers silently while looking at the dawn.It will be night soon.“The Pack was so big right now,” Cyrus said. “Matthew also found his mate among the ladies. He’s about to get married next month. Isn’t this the time to find yours too?”Theodore answered, “No
Yuri’s POVThree hundred years passed by.After the passage of three centuries, I stood before the mirror, gazing at my reflection and marveling at my three-hundred-year-old appearance."Remarkable," I murmured to myself, gently touching my flawless skin. "Being a werewolf truly has its advantages. I seem to have defied the aging process entirely."Mikhail's words echoed in my mind, confirming the truth behind his claim that werewolves remained forever youthful.Suddenly, a voice interrupted my thoughts, pulling me back to reality."Are you content with admiring yourself and considering yourself beautiful?" the voice questioned.I turned my head and found my eldest daughter standing there, her arms crossed in disapproval."What brings you here, Mom?" she inquired, her tone laced with frustration. "Your eldest daughter was anxiously waiting outside before the commencement of the Blue Moon Party. And here you are, secluded in your room. Even Father was searching for you!"I nodded in ag
Yuri's POV'He is your mate.'A voice echoed in my mind as I laid eyes on Mikhail standing in front of me. I instantly recognized the source of the voice - it was Ri, my wolf residing within me.I had heard stories about werewolves being destined to be with their true mates. And now, it seemed clear why I had fallen in love with Mikhail despite my wolf and memories being locked away.It was fate; our paths intertwined."W-Who are you?!" Chase shouted, which made Mikhail and I turn our heads to my ex-lover.Chase instinctively took a step back, as did the men accompanying him. They clearly didn't want to provoke a confrontation with a formidable creature capable of delivering a fatal blow with a single strike."You're not the red wolf I encountered before. Who are you?" Chase questioned, his confusion evident.Red wolf?My suspicions were confirmed. Chase had indeed encountered Thunder!Mikhail, with a calm demeanor, responded to Chase's inquiry. "Who am I, you said." In a swift motion
Third Person's POVThe guard assigned to watch over Yuri's room received instructions to search the garage as Megan had possibly dropped her wallet there. Despite his efforts, he was unable to locate the missing item. Disappointed, he made his way back into the grand mansion, intending to inform Megan about his unsuccessful search."Did she really leave her wallet there?" he murmured while walking in the middle of the dark hallway. His footsteps, however, stopped when he heard a peculiar sound emanating from the darkness. He turned around to investigate the source of the noise."Who's there?" he called out, his voice echoing through the empty corridor.Silence. No response came, and no figure emerged from the shadows.Frustrated, he muttered to himself, "Damn. Perhaps I need more rest," as he rubbed his tired eyes with his hand. Resigned, he turned around, preparing to continue his path forward. However, just as he pivoted, a sudden figure materialized behind him, striking his head fo
Third Person's POVHours had passed since the intense battle between Mikhail and Thunder had begun. The hall was filled with the sight of blood splattering everywhere, leaving the spectators in awe and breathless as they watched the brutal scene unfold before their eyes. Both werewolves displayed their immense strength as they relentlessly slashed, bit, and attacked each other. However, neither of them had succumbed to their injuries just yet.Amidst the chaos, one werewolf couldn't help but voice their doubts. "Is it possible? If Alpha Thunder truly holds the title of Alpha, then he should have already eliminated the cursed rogue."Another werewolf pondered the idea. "But what if Mikhail was actually telling the truth?""You mean to say that Alpha Thunder isn't the rightful Alpha?" questioned another."I find it hard to believe that Mikhail was cursed solely because of Alpha Thunder and his father from the other Pack with the Mage," added another werewolf."Does this mean that we sho
Third Person's POV"Mikhail went to Thunder!"Upon hearing Yel's shocking revelation, Doctor Cyrus's grip on the syringe loosened, causing it to fall to the ground. He inquired, "What did you just say?"Yel, with a solemn expression, added, "Mikhail went there with the intention of putting an end to everything."Realizing the gravity of the situation, Cyrus knew that he and Yel had to accompany Mikhail. "We must hurry and go there!" he exclaimed. With a sense of urgency, both Cyrus and Yel sprinted towards the hall, following the sound of commotion. However, they soon realized that they were not the only werewolves present in that location.Word had spread among the Pack members about Mikhail's declaration to challenge the Alpha, and they had gathered to witness the event.Taking a moment to catch his breath, Yel shouted, "Make way!"In response to his command, the members of the Pack willingly stepped aside, allowing the two werewolves to pass through.Yel and Cyrus swiftly made thei
Third Person’s POVMikhail awoke from his slumber, his heart filled with anticipation as he expected to see Yuri and their child nestled in the crib beside him. However, his hopes were shattered as he realized he was alone inside Yuri's house."Yuri?" he called out.Without wasting a moment, Mikhail leaped out of bed and scanned his surroundings. His eyes widened in shock as he noticed the presence of wolfsbane scattered around the bed. It dawned on him that this must be the reason why he couldn't sense Yuri and their child leaving the premises.Where could they have gone? But Mikhail's instincts told him that Yuri hadn't left willingly. The real question that plagued his mind was, "Who had taken them?"A fiery determination ignited within him as his eyes turned a menacing shade of red.He gazed out of the open window, a low growl escaping his throat as he transformed into his powerful black wolf form. With a swift leap, he descended from the window, his destination clear in his mind.
Third Person's POVChase received an unexpected and shocking message from someone he never anticipated to hear from - Thunder, the leader of the Green Preserving Institution. This news left Chase puzzled as he believed that he had resolved any issues through Megan. The thought of meeting Thunder again was not something Chase was looking forward to.However, Chase's perspective changed when he received another message from Thunder. The content of the message was enough to grab Chase's attention and make him forget his previous reservations.["I found your lover in the Hidden Greenery."]“Yuri?” Chase murmured. The moment Chase heard about Thunder's discovery, he didn't waste a second to respond to the message. Despite being burdened with numerous responsibilities as the heir of his family, Chase decided to put everything aside and prioritize Yuri above all else. This decision reflected the deep love and concern Chase had for Yuri."Where is he?" Chase exclaimed in a rush as he entered
Yuri’s POV“I am your wolf that was sealed in your body. My name is Ri.” When the white wolf introduced herself, memories of Cyrus's deception flooded my mind. He had always insisted that I was just a mere human, Perhaps, Cyrus had known my connection with Mikhail all along. He lied intentionally for my sake.“I am a werewolf, right?” I asked."By now, you should have already known. Would I have revealed myself to you if you weren't?"Her sassy reply made me chuckle. It was undeniable that this wolf was a reflection of my own personality. We were more alike than I had initially thought.Seeking answers, I pressed further, wanting to understand why Ri had chosen to reveal herself to me. "But why did you appear? I thought my mother had sealed everything away," I questioned, my fear of the dream ending before I could uncover the complete truth.Ri's response was firm and filled with disappointment. "Yuri, it was because you broke your promise," she stated. "The wolf was bound by a sea
