Calla knew she couldn't stay here any longer. She slammed the documents onto the coffee table and said, "Miriam asked me to deliver this to you. My task is done. Excuse me."

She turned and grabbed her bag, wanting to leave. However, Mercer wasn't going to let her go that easily.

As Calla felt a tight grip on her arm, she looked down to see his large hand holding onto her.

A wave of panic surged through Calla, bringing back the bad memories from a few days ago. "Mercer, I'm warning you, don't do anything stupid, or I will call the police!" Calla warned him, her voice shaky.

Mercer responded with a cold, menacing laugh, sending a chill through Calla's body. She stared at him with terrified eyes.

After his laughter subsided, he reached out to touch her hair, but Calla quickly turned her head, avoiding his hand.

Seeing the fear on her face, Mercer sneered. "Aren't you a tigress? You're always baring your teeth at me. What, are you scared now?"
