A new beginning

Her hands,though slippery held on to the pavement.

Edward was already on his heels.

The man, realizing what he had done now regretted.Fear made his heart skip a bit the moment Edward began to run.

He thought the man would kill him just then,however Edward ran past him like he wasn't even there.

He took the opportunity to run out of the place.

Edward pulled off his suit jacket and flung it away.

Just when her hand slipped off the pavement and a small scream escaped her lips,he got hold of her.

"Don't let go" he said as he struggled with his grip

Diana cried as she stared up at him.

"Edward.." her voice was only but a whisper.

"Don't say anything" his voice cracked "Just hold on."

She drew in a sharp breath,her eyes slowly closing.

"I..I feel.. I'm slowly losing it" she responded half unconscious.

"No" his voice quavered "Look at me..look at me Diana!"

She raised her head and that was when she saw the impertinent fear in his eyes.So bright was it that her blurry vision didn't miss it.
