“Aleister? Aleister! Are you even listening?!” Aleister’s senses came back when he heard his mother yelling.

“What? Why? Why are you yelling?” He confusedly asked his mother.

“Are you even listening? Bet you’re not.”

“I-I am listening!”

“No, you’re not. If you are, please do repeat what I said.”

“Y-You said the food is tasty?” Using her vampire powers, she made the container of pepper fly towards Aleister but he managed to catch it.

“You’re not even listening! I did not say the food is tasty – well it is – but that’s not the point! Why are you even spacing out?” Aleister sits up straight and looked at his mom seriously.

“Mom, you know yesterday while I was walking on the streets—”

“YOU WHAT?! You walked on the streets?! Are you out of your mind?!”

“It was an emergency! The tires of the car got flat and I have a meeting in ten minutes.”

“Still! You should have called a taxi!”

“The building is few minutes’ walk away! It’s not even that far for me to ride a taxi! And wait, its not the point! That’s not even important. Okay, I encountered this weird scent while I was walking on the streets. It was a werewolf scent but also had this lotus – not lotus but kind of smells like one – wait I don’t know how to explain it but part of it was a werewolf scent.”

“You encountered a werewolf?”

“I mean, sort of? It’s not a full scent of werewolf so I don’t know if it was a werewolf or not.”

“Wait, you smelled a lotus scent and a werewolf scent?”

“I just said I did.”

“Oh, my goodness, it can’t be her, could she?”

“Who?”

“Why are you so clueless! You are alive for five-hundred years now!”

“Now it’s my fault for not knowing who that she you’re talking about?!”

“You know the alpha of the werewolves who died twenty-seven years ago? If I’m not mistaken her name, is Ahina. There were rumors that she gave birth to a child before dying. That child was said to be half human and half werewolf.”

“What do you mean? Werewolves are half human.” Aleister’s mom glared at him.

“Shut up! Werewolves are wolves in human form, they are not basically half human. You could put it in the way that they could shapeshift but their wolf blood stays intact.”

“And? What does it have to do with the scent I smelled?”

“Ahina fell in love with a human and obviously the child had half of immortal and mortal genes. Traditionally, it won’t be accepted and it was actually the reason why some of the werewolves joined inferior vampires. They got split into two groups, just like our kind.”

“So, you’re saying that the one I encountered is the child of an alpha?”

“Maybe? Who knows? No one knows about the whereabouts of the child. After Ahina died, her husband and child disappeared with no trace. There were rumors saying that the child is stronger than the mom.”

“They couldn’t smell her? I mean, I just did smell the scent, won’t the others do the same to search for the child?”

“No one knows Aleister, it will remain unanswered until the child shows up.”

“Wait, how did you know that it’s a she and not a he? You said no one knows the whereabouts, how did you know the gender?”

“Humans are not the only one who gossips, dear.” Aleister just shook his head in disbelief. He stood up and grabbed his bag.

“I have to go. I have a schedule in a few hours.”

“Be home for dinner.”

“Yeah, whatever bye.”

Aleister went down to the restaurant’s parking lot and his manager was waiting for him. He entered the car and they started heading at the agency building of Aleister.

“I know what’s happening, and it’s your fault.” Aleister coldly said to his manager.

“I might get fired at this rate. Don’t jinx it more!”

“Why? Then is it my fault? Who suggested of walking in the first place? It’s you, right? I only did it because I have no other choice, that meeting is worth a million and I can’t be late. You could have called a taxi.”

Few more minutes until they arrived at their destination. They entered the building and went straight to the office of the agency CEO.

“You are on the news, again! If your car broke down or the tries got flat, you could have called for another car to take you to the company!”

“Ten-minutes left before my meeting and incase you don’t know, that meeting is worth millions. You might just lose your job if I didn’t make it.”

“Shut it, Aleister!”

“Don’t shut me up! It wasn’t my plan after all. I was planning to take a run or teleport, but that would be too much for you to handle, right? I became considerate.” The CEO took a deep breath and tried his best to control his temper. He sat down at his desk while Aleister sat on the couch. The CEO is also a superior vampire, as well as the manager. “Just fix the problem and stop whining. My mother already gave an earful lecture for breakfast, don’t make me have it for lunch too.”

“The only thing I just want to point out is—”

“JUST GODDAMN SHUT UP AND DO YOUR WORK!” Aleister’s eyes turned red and all the furniture’s in the office flew and was thrown on the ground. The window on the office also broke. “WHY DO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOUR WHINING EVERY SINGLE TIME?! Let me remind you that being a celebrity is not what I wanted. I’m doing this as a favor from the clan, so shut up and do your job in cleaning whatever mess you have to clean!”

The CEO was too stunned to speak or move. He felt fear and felt like his whole life has flashed in front of him. Aleister walked away and exits the office. He went to his own resting room in the building.

This entertainment agency is filled with superior vampires. Most of the staffs and artists are vampires. That is why it is not surprising when a glass in the building breaks.

Aleister is the future leader of the superior vampires. As the future leader, he was asked by his father to enter the entertainment industry to observe the inferior vampires. They found out that the inferior vampires will mass-infect the people in the industry to raise their number. They are planning to do this to become for influential and became the most powerful immortal being and because of this, even if Aleister disagrees, he was forced to enter the industry.

Aleister brought out his phone and wore his earphones. He started playing music and closed his eyes to relax.

He couldn’t forget about the child of the alpha werewolf Ahina. He knows that werewolves are vampire’s enemy but he feels like there is a connection between him and the alpha child. A few moments later, the CEO and the manager entered the room. They slowly approached Aleister.

“S-Sir... A-Aleister—”

“Whine one more time and I’ll throw you both out of this thirty-floors building.”

“N-No, we are just here to inform you about your schedule. You were invited for a talk-show guesting in a week. It’s about health issues, you are casted as a celebrity panel,” said by the CEO with a shaky voice. Aleister opened his eyes, which are still red in color. He removed his earphones and turned the music off on his phone.

“Talk show? It’s fine as long as Mallory won’t be there.”

“Definitely not, I’ll make sure of that.”

“Then good, we don’t have a problem about that. Just cancel my schedule for today,” Aleister said as he stands up from his chair. “I would take a break for today, cancel everything and don’t call me.” He left and didn’t even wait for the CEO and manager to answer.

Back to the hospital, Madison is standing in front of his supervisor.

“You were chosen to be the guest doctor for a talk show! Congratulations!” said by her supervisor.

“What? I’m a general surgeon and not a celebrity doctor or talk show host.”

“I didn’t say you were. You are only a guest doctor, don’t assume.”

“You have a point, but I still won’t do it.”

“All you have to do is discuss the latest health issues, give advice and tips on how to avoid getting sick. As a general surgeon, you could also discuss the illnesses that requires surgery and their treatment.”

“What would I get in return?”

“Bonus?”

“Yes.”

“Incentives?”

“Isn’t that the same thing?”

“Not according to my dictionary.”

“Fine, name whatever you want. I’ll do the best I can, just go to that talk show. The bosses above are pressuring me to get you on-board.”

“Why me?”

“Because you are the star of the hospital and we value and are proud of you.”

“If you care for me, hire more general surgeon! I so close in living inside the operating room! I am thankful for the intern but he is not enough.”

“I’ll request everything you say once you agree to appear on the show. Although, it still depends on how the upper-ups would decide. I’ll to my best to persuade them.”

“Okay deal, make sure to get my bonus, incentive, salary increase and additional general surgeons. If you don’t, I’ll break all your bones.”

“I’m an orthopedic surgeon.”

“You can’t operate on yourself. I’m out!” Madison left the office and went straight to a coffee vending machine but she saw her enemy, the neurosurgeon.

“I heard you’ll be in a talk show,” said by the neurosurgeon. She grabbed her coffee from the machine and Madison bought hers.

“Wow, I’m amazed how fast the news got to you but when you are called in the emergency room, it takes decades before you appear.” Madison grabbed her coffee and faced the doctor.

“You’ll switch jobs? Are you going to start a career as an actress? You really have no respect to your seniors, huh?”

“First of all, I didn’t volunteer. It was the bosses who forced me in to this. Second, if you want to join don’t come to me, go to the office of the director.”

Madison didn’t wait for her to answer. She walked away and went to the doctor’s lounge. She was just about to sit down but then her cellphone rang. She hurriedly left her coffee at a table and ran to the emergency room.

“Where’s doctor Alvarez?” she asked the nurse when she arrived at the ER.

“He is in the operating room. He’s conducting an appendectomy operation.” Appendectomy is the surgical removal of the appendix.

“What’s wrong with patient? Why did you call?”

“Seven months pregnant, I think she’s about to give birth. The intern said that depending on the patient’s condition we have to conduct a c-section operation.” Madison went to the patient and quickly examined her. After Madison talked with the patient’s husband, she sent the patient to the operating room and prepared for a delivery operation.

It lasted for almost an hour and both the mother and child are safe. After the operation, Madison went to the doctor’s lockers to change her clothes and prepare for her daily rounds on her patients.

After doing her work, she went straight home. She was about to entered their apartment building but she saw Louve talking with a guy. She slowly walked towards them.

“Got you!” she shouted which shock Louve and the guy. “Why didn’t you tell me that you have a boyfriend? I thought we are best friends?”

“Why are you home so early?” asked by Louve.

“I have a single shift today but don’t change the topic? Who is he?”

“Um...H-He’s my cousin, yeah cousin,” Louve said with a nervous voice but tried her best to act properly in front of Madison. She looked at the guy to tell him to introduce his self.

“Good evening, you—I am miss Madison. Louve has told me stories about you. It a pleasure to finally meet you.”

“Don’t be nervous, I don’t hurt people. Why don’t you go inside and join us for dinner? I bought chicken.”

“Thank you but maybe next time. I have to go now; it’s also getting late.”

“He’s right Madi, it’s hard to drive back when it gets darker.”

“Aw, that’s sad but have a safe trip.”

After the guy left, Madison and Louve entered their apartment. As soon as Madison stepped inside their apartment, she saw a package on the table. She went straight to it and saw her name. She wasn’t expecting and package so she slightly shakes it to have an idea on what’s inside. She was about to open it but Louve grabbed it from her.

“Hey! Why did you grab it from me? It’s my package!”

“It’s mine!”

“Yours? But it has my name on it.”

“O-Oh, I used your name when I ordered it. I thought that I won’t here to receive this.”

“You won’t be here? Why, are you leaving?”

“Yeah, didn’t I tell you that I would be leaving to visit my parents? I named it to you so you could receive it on behalf of me. I had no idea it would arrive earlier.”

“I thought you won’t go to your parents anymore?”

“I’m going, I have to. I’ll leave in two days but I still don’t know when I’ll be back. Anyway, have a rest I’ll enter my room! Goodnight!”

Louve entered her room and Madison was left confused. She tilted her head because of her friend’s weird behavior but forced herself to ignore it. She just went and prepare to go to bed.

We should talk about—” The director was cut off when Madison spoke. “You said that everyone needs connection to succeed?” “That’s right, so don’t—” Amanda wasn’t even done answering when Madison cut her off. “So, it’s right for me to assume you have that connection. Am I right? But how come, even with that connection that you’re proud off, you are still not successful in your career?” Madison straightforwardly said and smirked at the end. She forced a smile at Amanda who’s obviously offended. “Excuse me? What did you just say?”
