As I walked up the stairs, tears streaming down my cheeks, she spoke and I could hear how shaky her voice had become.

“Won’t you at least give me a chance to explain why I did what I did?” She asked me and I swallowed.

“You lied to me with something as serious as a tumor, made a mockery of my trust and even made a fool of our relationship. I couldn’t ever forget that.
