Alessia's POV
I returned to the Pack Estate late in the afternoon as I was roaming on the streets, clearly frustrated and not knowing what to do. I felt that the Pack Estate was not the right place to stay, on second thought, if I leave, where will I get my feeding and college fees from. My parents can't do this, it's because of their condition, they sent me to work for the Alpha's family at the early age of eight, they knew I would be serving them if not for any other thing as at then, for food and education, two things they wouldn't be able to give me. Right now, I have five siblings and I'm made to believe they have all been farmed out to family members and friends except the last born who is just three years old.
I remember those days Luna Stevania, Phoenix's mom would be treating me as her child. I was only allowed to sweep the living room and water a small portion of flowers in the garden back then. It's when I reached thirteen years and started major works in the estate that the pampering stopped and then another good was born. I started being paid, this is what I sent back home, just to fund my last sibling's education and upbringing. What's left for me every month is not always enough but I'm glad I'm assured of free food and then my accommodation is taken care of. I remember these things and choose to return, running away would seem childish and me being ungrateful. My parents hearing this would be disappointed, and my last born brother would be sad to stay back at home and not go to school.
The first person I find as I return is the luna. I meet her as I'm crossing the living room on the first floor to get to the stairs. My work ends in the morning before going to college, this is to help me concentrate also on my studies. Anything done in the evening is unofficial, from Phoenix and Gracelynn.
"Good afternoon, ma'am." I greet, bowing slightly. She isn't so rude, but her calm and demand for a formal relationship with her would make her seem rude except you are privileged to go close to get. Since being formal and not laughing or playing with her is what she wants, I try to adapt and have been doing that perfectly, both with her and her husband, Alpha Aaron. The only people that get on my nerves are her son and his girlfriend, Gracelynn. Since she loves both, nothing is done by either her or her husband in the case of me being bullied.
"Good afternoon, Alessia." She replies with a firm tone and a firm look which is not quite casual with her. I turn nervous, eager to know what's going on. I can't figure anything that might make her look at me this way.
"Why are you returning now?" She drops it all of a sudden making me shriek in horror. "My son and his girlfriend returned about an hour, thirty minutes ago, since you weren't there to prepare their lunch, they left to the eatery. As you well know I don't have the strength to cook, I do make orders from our favorite eatery for myself and my husband if you are off to college of I just don't feel like eating homemade food."
Just as she said this, I knew I'm in fresh trouble. Phoenix and Gracelynn aren't like her, they prefer homemade food, the only thing they patronize eateries for are their snacks and drinks, not food. Making them go outside to eat now would be a great disaster to me once they return.
"Okay, go inside and get ready. You have a great job to do! I'll let you know once you are done." She walks past me, I begin to wonder about the greater work she is talking about. All ideas escape my memory. Anyway, I rushed towards my room. Sliding my backpack into my wardrobe drawer, I move on to undressing. I've got to take a quick bath. In the next ten minutes, I'm done. I dry myself and walk over to my dressing room where I put on my uniform. I seldom wear it although it looks like a normal gown. I'm afraid Luna Stevania saying I have greater work means the presence of a guest who would come visiting. I've been living here and I'm familiar with most of the terms used by her and other members of the family.
I walked down to go meet her, she promised that she was going to tell me what she meant. "Alessia, get prepared. I know I didn't inform you earlier but we are going to have a guest, he will be living with us temporarily, until his estate in our pack is ready and furnished." My heart begins to pump hard, I'm eager to know who she is talking about. "Today you have lots of work to do being the only cook here. I don't think it should be too hard for you, catering for me and my husband, my son and his girlfriend, then yourself and this respected personality that would be arriving later on in the night, I suppose." She says with a shrug of her shoulders, she doesn't know if it will be in the night or this evening but whatever I got to get prepared.
"Who is he, ma'am?" I shouldn't be asking her, she is supposed to tell me. Since she is delaying to tell me who it is, I've got to ask her.
"The Lycan prince, Alpha Adrian Caleb." I gasp upon hearing this name. He is the ruler of all the werewolves and lycans alike, a hundred years ago, he captured all the werewolf Alphas that stood against his rule and executed all of them, he had a world's powerful gang that worked for him, executing anybody, wherever he may be that spoke against him or said anything against him. In human age, he is twenty-five, but is over three hundred years in wolf age, as a lycan. The ages are calculated differently. As a lycan as he is, he is very powerful and feared by all the werewolves. The werewolves had their own Alpha Prince just as he was initially for the lycans, but he assassinated our Alpha Prince and came to control all the werewolves together with the lycans in our continent.
"So is it him I'll be catering for?" Stevania sees the shock and fear in my eyes, I can't be blamed, there is no werewolf who doesn't fear the prince, his aged father, the Alpha King handed over reign to him although he isn't officially crowned as the King, just the Prince. I don't know what is keeping his father from stepping down completely for him, it has remained a secret for years. Though his health is deteriorating with each passing day, he wouldn't give the throne to Adrian.
The luna gives me a nod. "I'll be sending in a list of delicacies, five to be precise as he is coming. We will need to give him the best always and that will rest on your shoulders, and I'm sorry to announce this," her eyes grow dull as I've never seen before. "You'll need to quit college and become a full-time maid, for the time being he is going to stay with us, which I don't know." My heart seems to stop beating at this point.
What did she just say?
"I'm very sorry about this but this is how it's supposed to be, he will require the best and wouldn't tolerate your absence when you aren't around." I drop a heavy breath, it has always been my dream to graduate and become a professional engineer. Being in the same level with Phoenix and Gracelynn has helped reduce the bullying to a lower level, if they are supposed to pass me and I follow up behind them later on I'll begin college again, the discrimination and ridicule wouldn't be something to easily deal with. It might even make me unwilling to continue, I might pick up interest in something else which isn't what I planned.
"That's the way it's gonna be, so go to the kitchen. I'll drop the menu there, check the refrigerators, and the items to prepare the meals are there." She leaves me to my downcast state, even after many minutes she left, I can't lift my foot from the floor, it's as if I'm glued to it, same occurs with my heart, I feel like a moron right now. I've worked so hard, only to end up like this? Disappointed, I trod slowly towards the kitchen, holding my left hand across my chest so I can support my cheek with my right hand on it.
Alessia's POVI go into the kitchen to cry, I lay my eyes on the menu she was talking about. I'm quite shocked when she dropped it but she was talking as if it would be something she will drop later on, when I'm in. I look at the dishes, there are five of the most difficult and at the same time most luxurious dishes served mostly to very very important persons, VVIP. The cost of everything should be going at eighty thousand dollars. The dishes aren't my issue but what I was told by Stevania, that I wouldn't be continuing college because I'll need to provide full time service incase Adrian needs me at any point. I would say that the rest of my cooking alone in the kitchen has tears glued to my eyes. I keep a clean handkerchief to whip my eyes whenever it seemed like the tears were going to drop on the food. Even in my privacy, I'm obliged to provide the most hygienic food. I don't know whether I'm fast or slow but I finish up with the five dishes at 5 PM. I started about two to three
Alessia's POVI follow Adrian out of the living room of the Alpha's apartment, not knowing where I'm going to. He pulls me by the hand, as we are about passing through the main door, he stops all of a sudden without any warning. He shoots his deadly glare at the groups gathered.I watch as they shiver in fear, with Phoenix the most afraid. I see it all from his eyes, which are shifting from one end to the other, his girlfriend also tries to avoid gaze with him. I thought he was after them, until he decides to speak up to them."Stevania, make sure your servants bring Alessia's belongings along. From today, she's staying with me!" He says as sort of an order. I'm amazed at how he called the Luna who is old enough to be his mother by her name, then I remembered he is the one ruling all of us. His dad, the Lycan King is just an authority by name only, Adrian is the one doing the main administration. In our world, rank matters, not age. You have to submit to a higher ranking werewolf no m
Adrian's POVI wonder why she is so afraid of me upon knowing I wouldn't hurt her, I'm only trying to help her, to make sure she has a safe place to live. Where she lived before now was the den of lion, if Phoenix doesn't breaks her, surely his girlfriend would do and I don't want to see any Omega suffer.I drive her to the apartment I came from still in the estate, which is wide and large like a college campus. I've been given the most beautiful block in this estate but it's also the farthest, secluded from other blocks with a flower garden and beautiful fence, a solid golden gate. From seeing this, I'm pretty sure it has been reserved for a great guest, perhaps myself. At first sight of this apartment, a two storey building, full with servants and maid's upon my arrival, I became so impressed but none of these domestic aides did I got personally impressed by, I need someone like a personal side I can trust, a chef and guide especially as I'd be attending college tomorrow. A lycan pr
Alessia's POVHearing him talk about meeting the Alpha and Luna gets me anxious, I begin to wonder why he wants to have a meeting with me. It can because of me. There is nothing that will make him want to meet people he got angry with and left when the meeting was still on hold outside of me.My thoughts would be verified if he invited Alpha Phoenix and his girlfriend as well but he might just see them as lower, he is too superior to talk with them, either way it must be about me.I stand on one corner of the room thinking about my fate, then what Phoenix did to me, the rejection and public harassment replays in my head, tears starts to stream down my eyes to my cheeks."Have you forgotten you are before your prince?" I hear a commanding voice sound before me, I shift in horror. My eyes clears to reveal him standing before me. He moves closer to me, from where I decide to take a step backward. I need my own personal space."What's making you cry?" By his tone and facial expression, he
Alessia's POVI'm so amazed to be asked out this way by a lycan prince, of all lycans, he is choosing an Omega like me to ask out. No matter what, I know that there must be some secret intentions which is making him to ask me out. A prospective lycan king doesn't goes for a chosen mate in the wolf world except those who are getting older like in their forties who believe that they would not be meeting with their fated mates again. It's assumed and henceforth believed to be true that if a lycan prince or king goes for a chosen mate when he isn't old, then there is some secret he is trying to hide from the chosen mate and his people. Adrian has some secret before he would come to choose me as a mate. I don't deserve such.I look lost as I sit on Adrian's legs, I wouldn't let him lead me the way of doom by not asking why he wants me as a mate. 'A man's beauty shouldn't lead you to damnation!' This is one of the favorite cliches mom uses to say and since then I've picked it into my head.
Alessia's POV"Ask your Alpha and Luna to tell you." He responds with indifference in his tone, from here, I'm forced to look at Alpha Aaron and Luna Stevania, the sinister motives they had for me is still evident by the way they keep their faces."Alessia, I think you would return with us because we at danger if you don't get mated to our son who is soon to be Alpha of the pack, your dad will soon hand over to him!"I look at her like a piece of trash, but not too obvious. "How about Gracelynn, ma'am?""Why are you going by ma'am in addressing her?" Adrian casually asks because it isn't common to find a werewolf calling another werewolf, a Luna ranked by any other name apart from what she is. Even in the offices, they go with the titles of Alpha, Luna, Beta and Gamma, only the Omegas like me are called by their real name by the superiors."No, nothing." I smile, waving my hand."That's how she has always called me!" Stevania mutters. The next thing I see is Adrian taking his fist tow
Alessia's POV Even upon arriving in college, Adrian's mood hasn't changed despite the varieties of things I have done to ease him. As we arrive, it's thirteen minutes past eight, we are thirteen minutes late and I can attribute this lateness to the change in his mood, which made him a little slower in doing things. We are supposed to open the door, to go off to our respective duties but Adrian refuses, his face changes and it seems he wants to cry, seems like this but I know he would never do that. You hardly see a lycan cry because they are not only stronger in body and wolf, but in heart, the only thing capable of making them cry is the loss of a loved one. "Alessia.." "Yes, your highness." He pulls his hand towards me, and looks at me straight in the eyes, tears drain off it, in a flash, he wipes them off such that I begin to imagine if it was a dream or real. He places his right hand on my laps, brushes it, I would feel strange if it was before the romance, but I feel se
Alessia's POV Oh I remember now....... "Yes, he is my fated mate," I repeat this time with so much confidence so that no one of them detects the difficulty that I'm passing through. They would certainly laugh if they knew I attributed him as my fated mate because of one thing or the other when it's not so. This is a personal issue to reinvestigate. "I have no much time for you guys." I say this before I take off them, placing my phone beside my ears so it looks I'm in some important girls, it's an urgent case I need to go away to attend to. The truth is I'll find one place and take a seat, then I'll have to message Adrian of what I'm doing so he wouldn't go directly to the lecture theater without me, of course, he was looking for someone who would guide him through being new here. I'm making this entrance, if possible with our hands entwined. I eventually find a seat at the side of the water fountain in the college garden. I take out my phone from my bag which I had placed into af
Adrian's Pov I wake up early, my mind filled with a newfound clarity. Today is the day I finally make a decision, a decision that will change everything. As I slowly get out of bed, I can't help but feel a mix of nerves and excitement. I take a deep breath and remind myself that this is what I truly want. Walking downstairs, I find my children already awake and eating breakfast. They look at me expectantly, their innocent eyes filled with hope. I can't help but feel a pang of guilt as I realize they've been through so much because of my indecisiveness. "Good morning, Dad," my son greets me, trying to hide his worry behind a smile. "Any news about Mom?" I give them a warm smile, trying to reassure them. "Actually, kids, today is a special day. I've made a decision, and it's time for us to bring your mom back home." Their faces light up with pure joy, and a weight lifts off my shoulders. I realize that this decision isn't just for me; it's for our family. I want us to be whole again
Adrian's POVI wake up to the morning light filtering through the curtains, blinking away the remnants of sleep. As I turn to my side, my heart skips a beat. It's Alessia lying next to me, her peaceful expression contrasting with the turmoil inside me.Memories from last night flood my mind, the intensity of our encounter still lingering. I can't deny the connection we shared, the passion that ignited between us. But it was just one night—a night that I never expected would leave me feeling this way.I run a hand through my hair, my thoughts spinning. How did this happen? How did I go from not wanting her near me to feeling torn between accepting her or letting her go?Alessia stirs beside me, her eyes fluttering open. She blinks a few times, adjusting to the morning light. When she sees me, a soft smile tugs at the corners of her lips."Good morning, Adrian," she says, her voice filled with a mix of uncertainty and hope.I swallow hard, trying to find the right words. "Good morning,
Alessia's Pov Alessia files a report to the Supreme Council saying, she has already rejected Phoenix, since it was a matter of choice in the first place, they honored her decision and said she was to stay with Adrian after six months, when she forwarded the message from the council to Adrian, he said he doesn't wants her. Her next option was to live her life alone, not hoping of getting love again or meeting her kids until one day, at a luxury club house, both got drunk, the man took her to his house and they had sex.I wake up in a daze, my head pounding with the remnants of a wild night. The room is unfamiliar, and as I try to gather my thoughts, memories flood back in hazy fragments. The luxury club, the man who took me home. We had sex. I groan inwardly, feeling a mix of regret and confusion.I glance around the room, taking in the elegant décor and expensive furnishings. The man who brought me here must be wealthy, or at least well-off. But why did I end up here? Why did I let m
Alessia's Pov On her way back, she heads to their room only to see him sitting naked and romancing with another naked lady, they were touching each other's genitals and caressing sensitive spots, kissing and all that. (She spent up to like thirty minutes watching them silently through the doorhole, so describe the intense sexual activity here, make it hook the readers, its what they like) Out of anger which she can't bear again, she pushes open the door and drops the diamond portrait of their most romantic picture which they snapped for the birthday. The glass coverage of it breaks and the diamond stones fall out. Phoenix is shocked and frustrated at being caught She rushes out of the room, estate and of his life.I can't believe what I just witnessed. The sight before my eyes was like a stab to the heart, a betrayal that cut deeper than any knife. My whole body trembled with a mix of anger, hurt, and disbelief. How could he do this to me? How could he throw away everything we had bu
Alessia's POV As I hear the persistent rumors swirling around about Adrian, I can feel my heartache growing deeper with each passing day. It's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the whispers and the constant reminders of the life we once shared. But deep down, I know it's time to let go. I have to move on and focus on the present, on Phoenix and our future together.Today is Phoenix's birthday, and I'm determined to make it a day he'll never forget. Despite the mixed emotions coursing through me, I decide to put all my energy into planning a celebration that will bring him joy and happiness. I know he deserves it, and I want to give him something special, something that will make him feel loved and cherished. With a sense of purpose, I make a mental list of all the things I need to gather for the birthday celebration. I want it to be perfect. Determined to surprise Phoenix, I set out to find the items that will make his day unforgettable. I head to the local market, searching
Alessia's POV:I've been carrying this burden inside me for too long, suffocating in its weight. The rumor about the nanny's affair with Adrian has taken a toll on me, and I can't keep pretending everything is fine. My sleepless nights and constant state of sadness have caught Phoenix's attention, and he's determined to find out what's causing my pain. "Alessia, please tell me what's wrong. I can see how much you're suffering. I want to help you, but I need to know what's going on.Phoenix said to Alessia. "Phoenix, it's complicated. I don't know where to begin. It's just... there are things I've discovered, things that have shattered my trust. Alessia hesitant."Trust? What do you mean? Are you saying you don't trust me? Phoenix in anger. "No, Phoenix, not you. It's... it's about Adrian. Alessia replied. "Adrian? What does he have to do with this? Phoenix said with surprised. "Rumors have been circulating that Adrian and the nanny were involved in an affair. I confronted Adrian
Adrian's POVMy heart begin to pounds in my chest as I storm away from the pack estate, leaving Phoenix and Alessia behind. Anger courses through my veins, fueling my every step. How could they betray me like this? I trusted Phoenix with everything, and he took advantage of my absence to seduce Alessia once again. As I reach the palace, my mind is consumed with thoughts of revenge. I won't let them get away with this. Alessia may be the mother of my children, but I refuse to be tied to her anymore. I'll raise the kids myself, far away from the pack. They deserve better than a father who can't trust their mother.Days pass, and I immerse myself in my duties as the Alpha. The responsibilities of ruling the pack keep my mind occupied, but deep down, the pain lingers. I can't help but wonder if I made a mistake by pushing Alessia away. Was there still a chance for us? Maybe I should have confronted her instead of storming off in anger. One evening, as I review some pack documents in my st
I can't believe I'm finally heading back to my hometown after all these years. The excitement bubbles inside me as I clutch onto Phoenix's hand, feeling his warmth radiate through my fingers. My parents and I have only spoken on the phone until now, and the thought of seeing them in person fills me with both joy and nervousness. We walk side by side, our footsteps echoing on the familiar path leading to my childhood home. The memories flood my mind, and I can't help but share them with Phoenix. I recount the games I played with the neighborhood kids, the secrets shared with my best friend under the old oak tree, and the adventures I embarked on in the nearby forest. As we approach the doorstep, my heart races. I take a deep breath, exhaling slowly, trying to calm myself before ringing the doorbell. The door swings open, and there they are, my parents, beaming with delight. Tears of happiness well up in my eyes, and I throw myself into their waiting arms, feeling their love and warmth
I take a deep breath as I step foot into the Luna's residence once again. It feels both familiar and strange at the same time. The grandeur of the mansion and the memories it holds flood my mind, but this time, there's a difference. This time, I have my children with me.Adrian, my estranged husband and the Alpha, made it clear that during this time, he is not to bring another woman into his house. He knows the circumstances under which I returned, and I can only hope that he will respect my wishes. As we settle into our new home, people from the pack start to trickle in. They come bearing gifts, eager to welcome me back as their Luna. Their warm smiles and kind words touch my heart, but I can't help but feel a sense of guilt. I know I am just a temporary presence in their lives. Soon, I will have to make a decision, and it weighs heavily on my shoulders."Thank you all for your warm welcome," I address the gathered pack members. "But I want you to understand that I am not here to sta
