Grimshaw certainly was never going to let her go, and she most likely would never set eyes on Sebastian again.

Mara had become distraught.

She had been kept in this room with guards standing outside her room. There was a balcony, too, where she went to take fresh air and watch the falling snow.

She discovered how he had his men stationed strategically outside her room.

Even downstairs, they stood outside in the snow, and she wondered if they ever got cold.

The man sure might have had her figured out, or a similar thing had once happened to him that he was being ever so careful with his prisoner. She could not even escape through the window or the balcony.

There were guards nearly everywhere, and they sure as hell did not look like anyone that would be joking

about their job. Grimshaw had her all figured out.

She sat there all day, and her food was sent to her.

Her bath was drawn up for her, and she took it in the big tub. No one stayed to chat with her as they seemed scared of

It was inevitable, and his sages had confirmed that tonight was the night of activation for the girl. He had not seen her after their last dinner and demanded her presence in the cave in the evening. Grimshaw could see her confusion when she was brought there and how confused she was. It was scary as it was confusing; why on earth would he bring her to that place? She also had been given a robe which was what she wore that did not make her feel any ounce comfortable in it.She stood there looking around carefully as she continued to think and wonder.Grimshaw already had it all sorted out, his speech and promises. They exchanged greetings, and man, she looked curiously around and wondered why the chains in the cave were embedded so firmly that it was practically impossible for them to escape.Well, Grimshaw had grown tired of having his younglings escaping the enclosures of the dungeons and eventually turning on the older ones.It was hard to pull down a cave.Hence the decision to i

  • Bad Moon Rising   Grimshaw decided to marry Mara

She had been brought inside as soon as it was all over by him, wrapped in his cape as a newborn babe. He had seen her naked, but all his mind was wrapped around his newest discovery of her being his daughter. It did not sit well with him, but at least he was certain her mother had not betrayed him, for he was still very much certain she had something with his former beta.He could not understand why she had been so cruel to the extent she hid his child from him.Had she stayed, he might have forgiven her wrongdoings, and they would train the child together. She had to go out of her way to betray and hurt him.The girl was exhausted when it was over, and he had noticed something special about her. Her wolf had a fiery aura around it that was visible. It looked as though a light was making her glow all over, which he could tell was all a result of her magical blood. He had uncovered a treasure within her; if he was smart enough, he could have her by his side to wear down his foes. She w

Something about Alexa's tone told him she vehemently disapproved of what he desired, but Grimshaw cared less. She was his sorceress, and her job was to intercede on his behalf with the gods so they came to terms with everything he desired. Right now, he was not about to beg her into doing his bidding. He was a great judge of character and waited patiently for her to say whatever was on her mind. He could tell she was chewing on her words carefully lest she provokes him, and guess what? Grimshaw believed she was right to fear him. He wanted to be feared, as that was his primary weapon against all and sundry. He knew well enough that all the respect he got resulted from his fearful actions and how easily he could take lives with no remorse. He was a demon without emotions to them, and sure as hell, he enjoyed the entirety of the fear he received from people. He said nothing but to assist her in deciding what to judge him with at the moment; Grimshaw put a smile on his face. It was

  • Bad Moon Rising    Sebastian

It had not been easy for him all these days without Mara, and hell, he still hated himself for ever believing the witch. Waylan had given him an earful, and so had Maria. The one person holding them together was old Sonya, who had reasons to believe Gwen must have had her reasons. Well, he would be damned whatever those reasons she got for tearing Mara away from him. One thing was sure, and that was that she had no right to do what she did. He never gave her the mantle to decide what goes and what does not in his life. He respected his boundaries and tried his best never to encroach. He was beginning to realize why he should never trust a witch. They were full of lies and deceit. Yes, she was working for Grimshaw, and he knew he would have to keep her under really close eyes. She could have a lot more going up her sleeves after lying to him about the full moon and how Mara would die if she were with him and not brought to her. She never made any mention that she would send her a

"Are you sure about this, brother?"Silas was sure he was asking for the umpteenth time, and it was little wonder that Sebastian was yet to slam him a hard punch to the face and at least show some irritation at his persistent inquisitiveness. He had been cautious around him in case he lost it, but Sebastian disappointed him. Maybe it was because he was too busy packing up for his journey in a couple of moments. The previous day he had not been able to deter him from this suicide looking like action. Being the only one left of an entire lineage and then the one family you believe you have chosen to toss his life out like a chess piece over some woman was brutal.Alright, Silas had to take it back.Mara was not just any woman. She was his brother's mate and had brought out his brother's lost colourful parts, which he would never forget. He wanted her to be found, but not at the expense of losing his brother before they even got to it.He had been hoping they would plan things together,

One would think he was a husband to Sebastian with how he would keep standing up for him.He also observed his every movement to make sure he was safe, and Sebastian had him assisting a lot. With Daemon on their trip, Silas was half-reassured because the man was calculative. He did not just act out untoward but would bid his time until it was alright. He was a better protector than the former, who probably would be too busy teasing Sebastian to realize when danger calls.Silas went to sleep but not for long, which was how he had heard his brother return and go straight to her room. At first, he felt his weary heartbeat from his end through the sounds he heard from the beating. He then heard him mumbling things he so badly wanted to eavesdrop on but chose not to. His brother deserved some privacy and was not about to abuse his powers. He let him talk until he started hearing his sobs.Sebastian was crying, and this was not the first since he had lost her. • Bad Moon Rising   degrading things Grimshaw had done.

Walking back through the paths leading to various werewolves' clans showed how disastrous Grimshaw had been in the few days. He had declared an open war against every clan that had not surrendered to him and felt on top of the world with the few that gave him their support. Sebastian was disappointed. He could not believe the beast could go this far into causing absolute chaos. Most places had recently been raided, and smoke from the burning homes went up the skies. Others were deserted. Sebastian blamed all the leaders at this point for not having a stand and say in what happens within their lands. It was sad and even more pathetic that one highly overrated werewolf clan would do this to several clans and go free. Sebastian felt sad. In some of these clans, they had stopped to put away certain degrading things Grimshaw had done. There were heads of leaders and their families at what used to be the entrance to some, and the others had bodies impaled to the entrance. Sebastian

  • Bad Moon Rising   I must tell him. They are coming for all

Sebastian could understand their worries and explained to them that he needed some peace and quiet at this point, so they do not get caught. They were in werewolves' territory, which meant they could easily be attacked. They were all left to be quiet and discreet about what they were doing. To answer Daemon's question and area of concern, as Sebastian would never ignore an honest person, he explained that there was no way if the remaining clans were still standing, Grimshaw's cronies would get to them immediately. And even if magically they pulled off a way through it, he would not worry but would find a way to build. He wanted them to understand that regardless of their mission, they were not totally out of options, and there were many a thousand other ways to defeat the old man. All they needed was decorum at the moment and active concentration. These territories were not theirs, and they still had no idea what was lurking in the shadows, even as they spoke at the point. She had returned back to her human for, bare and all. The minute she opened her eyes, two things happen simultaneously. Grimshaw pulled a dagger andthen held it close to her stomach area just as she saw Sebastian in the action of trying to make it over. “Now you stop there boy or I would be sending her and your baby to hell.” He said “Baby?” Sebastian asked caught dead in his tracks Yes baby. He pulled her along quickly taking the shorter route to the stone altar he already had in preparation fortheir rites. The wizard was there and Grimshaw had never been more excited over his plans ahead andof time of making the wizard key into all his plans with Alexa the late sorceress. The breach of his wallshad seriously extended to where they were and it was only a matter of time before they get closer andget to him. But not for long, he was going to make certain he beats them to it. He had some of his menstand guard around the place as he pulled Mara along. He was not going to waste anymore time.“You may begin.” He said to the wizard“Yes my lord. Everything is nearly prepared but we might still be needing the one inhabited by life.” Thewizard said.Grimshaw caught Mara smirking but he had a surprise for her.“Oh she is the one inhabited by light.” He said“But I thought Alexa…” the confused wizard said“Alexa was gullible and let a little girl play a fast one on her. Grimshaw also knew within that the knowledge that her own mother had put him onpermanent protection was something way more challenging for her. He felt really proud but morehappy about the fact that her powers were actually awakening. It was a go go for him actually as he hadbeen waiting patiently to be able to harness her powers. But since what happened with his men theother day, Grimshaw suspected that something was off with her and her powers. The sorceress hadAlexa had said that it was a force field of death that she wielded based on what Mara had told her buthe could point out loopholes around those words. He knew he had to revisit that issue himself and seefor himself to make certain that her powers were what they seemed. He had asked that his men looksaround and finds the sorceress text but it would turn out that it had disappeared miraculously.Grim

They had been trying hard at keeping their ranks for sometime now as they had been really busy with the enemies. It was really tough as Sebastian had not been to war in a long but luckily for him, he had the experience and the true qualities of a leader. More and more had been falling into his ranks and aligning with his troops as everyone seemed to be calling for an end to Grimshaw’s reign. There were leaders around him both young ones and older ones to advise him and brush up his strategies. They were not so much but they were doing really well at holding out on the enemies. They fact that theywere short numbered was a cause for alarm as this was war and not a fairytale. It would only be a couple of moments and then the enemies would see through the hidden loopholes in their formation and then it would be their turn to start suffering the ills of war. That was just what Sebastian had been fighting tooth and nail to avoid. He could not loose this war. Not with the glimmer of hope h

  • Bad Moon Rising   My lord she's gone.

Three days since he sent out his men, he still was not getting any responses from the battlefield. He last heard that they were engaging each other already at a place not so far from his castle, and now he heard nothing more. Grimshaw had sent three ravens out already. Two to the light claw pack and one to his general out at the war front, but neither had responded. The panic of not knowing was killing him; all he wanted now was reassurance from the general that his men were doing well, followed by a backup from the light claw pack.Apparently, it would seem like the old pack wanted nothing to do with or assist him. Grimshaw was not short of surprises as he knew well enough that all this had everything and more to do with the distraction he had received the other night of the banquet. The heavens knew what his son and Mara had voiced to the alpha. He had been told that they met with the man away from the banquet table, and although they tried to make it seem like a tour of the sorts o

“You should stop pressurizing him about these things, Max. It is not his problem.” Artemia said to her brother.“So you think,” Maxwell said.“So I know.” She said to him, firing up.Maxwell had been at the top of his beefing with his father again; this time, he was not buying his cowardice. He could not understand why the old man was acting the way he had been, even after the young woman had affirmed that she was being married against her will to this old wolf that seemed tohave been brewing all the troubles in the entire werewolf history.Maxwell had never liked Grimshaw, not even as a child, and many times when his father would meet secretly with this man; he always felt uncomfortable about it all. His father had not sent troops to help when the first war had happened, and as a child, he had not understood the reason why but this time, he was already beginning to think about it having relations with Grimshaw. All these years, they had been living in the wild and away from everyone

"Well, good morning to you, my hubby dad," Mara said as she entered the dining room, smiling ear to earwith so much amusement, especially at his face. Someone else was seated a little too early on the table, and he snorted laughter that had him choking on the drumstick he was biting down on."That serves you right, boy, for not waiting," Grimshaw growled as he observed Mara come to sit at her place."Are you alright?" she asked Zyair, who just drank from his cup and nodded. Mara then turned to Grimshaw, who was glaring at her. There certainly was a part of him that wished she had nothing to offer him so he could snap her neck, but he could not now, could he? He needed her alive so his plans could mature into reality. Grimshaw then furrowed his brow even more profoundly as he glared."You know, girl, I would rather the other bit of our relationship be kept secret." He glared at her"I do not understand. "Are you sure you want to do this and trust those treacherous humans again as our ancestors once did, brother?" Silas asked him for the third time, but this was at the boundary of Blackwell. The past few days, or dare we assume the week, have been the most hectic as they had been up and busy with the re-establishment of Blackwell, and there have been a lot of changes. Successfully a few daysafter the barrier had fallen, they had completed the sealing around Blackwell entirely. It was far more than what little Sebastian had thought they would achieve. It would seem the hands of fate had played them with way better plans than they had ever dreamt of as it was walled a little higher. Even more exciting was the line of persons, wolves in particular, that lined outside the new gates of Blackwell to surrender themselves to the new dawn and hope which was in the person of Sebastian. A lot had been happening these few days, but also enough to remind them that there was no longer time for so

Mara stood there as the maids attended to her with sadness in her eyes. She could not believe that this was happening despite the discovery. She looked grim as they put the gown on her, as she stared back at the mirror. Here has a damsel in distress that perhaps her powers alone would not save her from her impending fate. After the last altercation with Grimshaw, he had come to her room afterward and spoken to her.Mara then went to bed and did receive a confirmation of the fact that Grimshaw was her father. In fact, from what she had seen, he had known from the moment of her turning and yet had decided to keep it safely away from her while she wallowed in his desperation to marry her. He had come and put her in the tightest of corners when he warned her of the fate of Sebastian. He had sent a spread of words about her, and he also had more news. Two days ago, he learned that Blackwell castle had been again found. The barrier had already been lifted.Hence he could easily make an atta
