Chapter Twenty-Nine

“What was so wrong with our last minute Vegas trip? It doesn’t have to be Vegas, it can be anywhere. When’s the last time we had a guy’s night out on the town?”

“Vegas,” I said flatly. “I became the babysitter for you and Shrek.”

Shrek was another friend from our fantasy baseball league. 

Cody’s lips curled. “See, I don’t even remember that, so that means we’re due. Besides, Shrek is busy, so he won’t convince me to mix drinks and take random hits from the hot girls on the street. Come on,” he goaded, “We can relax, enjoy St. Patrick’s Day, maybe find some ladies in another area code. I know you’ve got picks of the liter in this office, but-”

I cut him off. “I don’t mingle with my personnel.”
