2024-11-26 18:07:32"I finally got rid of her, and I did not have to do much work," Micah said as they walked to his car. They had to leave the restaurant immediately because of the embarrassment that came with the scene that Elara had created for them.
Immediately she stormed out as if she had won; he paid the check and left with Zara in his hand. "Since you have been able to ditch the b*tch, how about we go ahead and have the wedding as planned?" Zara suggested, poking his chest roughly.
"Of course, we are going to have the wedding next week," he announced.
"Now just remember, since my parents do not want me to be exposed to the public, they would not be attending the wedding, and they would not be sponsoring it either, so you have to do all of that by yourself, and also I cannot access my trust fund until I get married and have a baby," Zara said.
"Oh my darling, what do you take me for? I definitely remember all that you said, and I am going to keep it to them all. As long as Mr. Quinn has agreed to help fund my business, then there is nothing I can not do for you," he said, nuzzling his nose into her neck.
"That is wonderful, then!" she exclaimed with joy.
"I just have one question," Micah said as he picked up the passenger seat for her.
"You know I love answering your questions," she said as she slipped in and planted a kiss on his cheek. He smirked at her and closed the door to the car before rounding the car and coming into the driver's seat. Zara watched him rounding the car and wondered how lucky she had gotten with him; she could not understand why people were so gullible that they could easily think that things like this could happen to them.
When she started this ploy with him, she thought that he was smart enough to catch on, but he believed so much that it scared her; she knew that she might as well use this opportunity to hold a man down. He had gotten so excited about it that he had taken her to see his mom, and then his mom had told her that she was a better choice for her son than the other woman who was clinging to him. Since Cora had approved of their relationship, she knew she was made; by the time Micah got to know that all of this was a scam, she would have tied him down with a baby, and he could not leave her again. This was her chance to break free from her poor family.
"What do you want to ask me?" she asks, holding his hands.
"You have met my family; when do I get to meet the great Elliot Quinn and your family?" As much as she had tried to make him ask any questions about her family, she was trying to make him stop accepting this. This had been the only flaw in her plan; as much as Elliot treated her as a daughter, even though she was the only child of his gardener, she could not ask him to do something so outrageous for her. He would not like to hear this; she would be greatly embarrassed by it.
"But darling, I have answered these questions so many times.
"And your answer stays the same."
"Yes, because it is..."
"Soon," they chroused. He took a breath and nodded.
"I guess I will meet them soon."
