I nervously tapped my foot against the floor of the elevator. We both were alone, waiting to reach the room that my friends had decided to share it with them.

"Um... I...nevermind." I mumbled, giving up to make a conversation with him.

I didn't even get his name and all I could remember was his eyes that were captivating. Now that we're standing beside each other, he's pretty tall.

Sucks to be short.

"Um, thank you for saving me earlier..." I mumbled, barely able to hear over myself.

My ears were turning red and I felt a lump forming in my throat when he twisted to look at me.

Okay, he's very intimidating. Did I forget I can't talk to boys well??

He smiled, actually smiled with his lips stretched out and that added more charm to his face, brightening the glow in his warm eyes.

I coughed, averting my gaze before I ended up staring at him for longer than intended and creeping him out with such actions.

"Oh! I didn't get your name. What's your name?" I asked, trying to go with the flow as he didn't seem the one to talk.

"Noah. Noah Hudson. And you?" He asked, softly with his voice echoing a little and giving the chill effects.

"Millie... Uhh, just Millie." I stammered, nodding and shooting a smile.

He nodded back, turning back his attention to the elevator doors once they opened with a ding.

He stepped out, waiting like a gentleman for me as I followed behind him, and we walked silently with some awkward tension to the room.

I was about to knock the door, stretching my hand into a fist, but he had the same action ready. We halted, hesitantly retracting back our hands.

I waited for him to knock, but he was contemplating on who would next, so I took the courtesy but our hands raised again, and we paused in the mid-air.

I pressed my lips in a thin line, clearing my throat. I didn't think it would be more awkward than the elevator conversation or is it just me who's finding it awkward?

He didn't think for another second and knocked on the door, pounding with force which startled and snapped me out from my unstoppable thoughts.

Meredith pulled the door wide open, beaming at our arrival. "Ey! Took you long enough to find your way back." She winked, strutting inside.

I frowned exchanging the weird glance between Noah and me. Hesitantly, I invited myself inside the cozy warm room which had necessitated things. A huge bed with a large window on it's right and and the bathroom on its left. A couch and TV, practically the lounging room in front of the bed, separated by a glass door partition.

"Hmm pretty." I mumbled, observing the surroundings and satisfied with the structure that could maybe fit us all in.

"We'll take the couch and you guys can take the bed." Hailey said, smiling sweetly like a cherry on the top of the cake, at them.

"Oh no, no. We'll take the couch. You ladies can go to bed." The raven haired man spoke, reflecting her smile with a dimple popping on his cheeks.

"You're really nice, but we can manage on the couch." She replied, grabbing the extra pillows from his hand.

I watched them to and fro, baffled by the situation and friendliness dripping in their polite conversation.

"We'll sleep on the bed. It would be nice if you can all settle on the couch." Meredith huffed, hopping on the bed and sliding into the warmth of the sheets.

We all stared at her, a few of them unable to speak, the others unable to decipher and then there's me, who's itching to know the names of others.

"What?" Meredith asked, glaring.

We all shook our heads, avoiding her piercing glare. She can get a little edgy if her routine sleep gets disturbed.

"The bed it is then." Hailey shrugged, letting the pillows fall from her hands and jumped on the bed, joining Meredith.

I hissed, swallowing my saliva and frowned, fully being attentive to the handsome men. "Can I know your names? It's been itching me."

They chuckled, smiled in a friendly gesture. "Of course. Hey, I'm Lucas." The raven haired gave a curt nod.

"And I'm Oliver. You can call me anything if you must." The ginger headed man said with a cheeky grin, pocketing his hands as his soft ruffled bangs fell over his forehead.

"Oliver, Lucas. Hi, it's nice to meet you. Have a sweet sleep. Bye." I didn't wait another minute for their reply and slid the glass door that parted us. "Too many boys." I whispered, stunned.

"Come here." Hailey patted the space in front of them, gesturing me to hop on.

I took steady steps, slouching on the spot as I took notice of their expressions and unspoken signals.

"What?" I squinted, sending the warning signals.

A smirk grew on both of their lips, simultaneously. It creeped me out, backing away a little with the reaction they gave together.

"So?" Hailey started.

I frowned, "So what?"

"Hailey, did you forget how she doesn't get the mixed signals." Meredith popped, exasperating.

"What mixed signals? You guys are not making any sense and above that, creeping the heck out of me. Wipe that smirks off!" I ordered, snatching the pillow from Hailey and hugging it as the coldness fused with my warm body.

"You fell for Noah, right?" Hailey nudged me, playfully.

I blinked, once, twice, thrice and then the long awaited laugh left my lips, probably startling the guys across the room.

"Wait, how do you know his name?" I fell into suspicion.

They cleared their throats, opening and closing their mouths to utter a word but all I received was the air flowing out of their mouths.

"Lucas told us. Yeah, him." Meredith said, quickly covering the hesitance roaming in the atmosphere.

I hummed, pursing my lips and crawling to the other side of the bed to sleep from all the exhaustion of the ride to here.

"So, do you like him?" Hailey teased, poking my cheek.

I grumbled, slapping her forehead with my pillow. "How would I fall for him so easily?"

"Quit tryna make me feel bad." I sang loudly, snatching the mic from the reception. It was more of an announcement phone call I picked up from the Reception. My mind was fuzzy and buzzy but I didn't stop and climbed the reception table, dancing with the music playing in my head. As usual, I was minding my own business being completely crazy. For all I know, I had gone nuts because after that I was kicked out. "Welp... that didn't work out well." I pursed my lips, looking at Noah who was part of this plan. "We did break the rules so... how were you even able to take such a risk?" He asked in a disbelief tone. I guess I impressed him. "Been doing that since birth." I proudly stated. He noted with his silence responding in return, "Yeah, I'm gonna go." I grabbed his forearm, pulling him in swiftly. "Hey, hey! You can't just leave me here. I don't know about you but this is my first time here." He poked his inner cheek with his tongue as he distantly squinted his eyes, "And what

All I know, I woke up with a massive headache where my insides were ripping apart.Or maybe World War III was channeling inside me."Millie! Do you have any idea what have you done?" For someone like me, what really mattered what was the most important thing after the disaster was to get back home. Not even last minute enjoyments, not the goodbye selfies.I had to get back home before the worse occurs than getting grounded. And speaking of my mother, she has her ways to make a living storm out of every situation. Not always, but still."What are you going to do about Noah?" Meredith asked who sounded genuinely worried.I shrugged, checking my bag for the umpteenth time as the fear of losing things back in the hotel that I'll never get again. For example."Found it!" I hugged my flip phone, taking a sigh of relief."Seriously??" Meredith scowled, getting back to her usual unbothered self.Hailey shook her head in disappointment, twisting her face towards me. "How can you worry about that than the mess you got yourself into?"I snarled, defensively protecting the phone that I treasure the most. "It's th

I sat in the back, munching on desserts or anything that could just be identified as edible. Slouching on the seat, I blankly stared at the road ahead which was dark and only the headlights were lighting up the path to my prison.Yes, I called my home a prison because I'm still grounded.I honestly don't make it sound like I am while taking a trip to Las Vegas. It's a surprise I even survived back there. Almost, I forgot I am now a married woman. Why did I ever meet that guy? It would've been better if I never met him but then I could've gotten married to someone else.Hmm... why did I even think of marrying him in my drunk state? It's not like my mom was nagging me to find a boyfriend or for her a son-in-law."Millie, what are you going to do?" Meredith asked after the silent treatment I was giving them.My flip phone survived, thankfully but it shut off on me due to the low battery. I didn't bring a charger along with the phone and I had t

No way. This isn't happening. My babysitter is none other than my husband, who I don't even clearly know well."What are you doing here?" I asked, unblinking at for the last minutes as mom went to grab some snacks."I should be the one asking that." He scoffed, flashing a smile to my mother across the room.Ugh! That billionaire smile that I have a crush on. Just on that! There's nothing more. I just got a thing for a dimpled smile."This can't be just a pure coincidence, could it be?" I asked, muttering to myself. He heard it well, frowning. "It could be. But I don't believe in fates and all."I gasped when he mentioned such a universal thingy. "How can you not believe in fates!? Wait, what about soulmates? Do you believe in them?"He shook his head, "That's all nonsense.""That's why you're single." So, is this still a coincidence?I don't believe in love and cherry on the top romance because that's all in the books but why is my mind barking the word 'fate' in my head on repetition?I won't accept it's the cause of some lovesick fate, it surely can't be. What day is today? I can't stop thinking about what Noah said earlier. It's been on my mind all day, and now I'm alone with all these strange assumptions swirling around in my head. Noah had some work to attend to, and I didn't wanna go to my Uni, so here I am. I'm trying to bake a cake. I decided not to overthink... for now, at least. Also, my apology needs a supporter, though he already has forgiven me. But to lighten up things and to get my mind over the word 'Wife', that's been ringing up in my head, I am attempting a world-class murder- I mean, making a decent edible cake. Did I ever mention that I can't cook? Or was it that I suck at cooking? "Snap out of it! Alright, Millie. Now is your time to shine... with sparkle, not smoke." I muttered the latter in hopes of succeeding. "First step. Preheat the oven..." I turned behind as I fearfully stared at my oven. It's the first step to disaster for me. That oven has been through a lot, always surviving from my at

The next morning wasn't delightful. I expected this. More or less. I was here sitting in my room, shedding Niagara falls from my eyes after a weird sensation hit me. I call it 'The guilt of disappointing my husband'. Which is weird. Why? Even I don't know. After going through all that conversation that happened between us, I realized I was wrong. That's good, but what more did I feel? The pain of making Noah upset. I don't know why I've been feeling this for the past few hours. I didn't get a wink of sleep... actually, I did sleep, but as soon as I woke up, the train of last night's thoughts hit me again. It is weird because I don't have any sort of attachment with Noah. He's a stranger to me, and we got married too recently. I couldn't have feelings built up for him, right? With a heavy heart, I opened the door to my room and found the hallway quiet. It's not a good thing... but then chaos or loud noise is also not a good thing 'cause that signals towards my clumsiness.

Where were we? In the middle of negotiation. Well, it was most likely from my side than theirs. All they wanted was to get as much money they could grab on."I don't have any money. You think, I can afford even this frozen yoghurt?... Yes, I can but I'm grounded. Why? Because I broke my mother's toaster. Do you even understand how that relatively is senseless?"Silence fell in and responses dried up from my random ranting. Plus, this ain't really the right time and right place to rant out about my personal life problems."That is senseless! My mom smacked my phone because I didn't call her back. Like how am I supposed to call you back now? And it wasn't even recharged and she even knew about this." One of the two joined in my rant out session.I gasped. "That's- What is even that??""I know right-" The other guy smacked his head, whispering him."Are you crazy? We're here to rob not fill in our painful tragedies." He sneered at his mate and got back to us, aiming the gun at Noah inste

"Millie, who in their right mind would go frozen yoghurt shopping?" Noah asked as he wore his coat.I pointed at myself innocently. My stomach wouldn't let me sleep peacefully and the next morning would be the face of a witch with hair all dishevelled that even the crows would run away from me.That probably didn't make any sense, did it?He sighed, patting my head before leaving the house.I grinned, "So do you know where they sell Frozen Yoghurt at this time?" He asked, turning to me.I smirked, nodding proudly. "Yes, because the only way to shut my stomach from almost transforming into a lion, I used to sneak out and visit this shop.""... I'm surprised you didn't get kidnapped." He plastered the same old unimpressed bored expression."Because I'm strong as well as heavy. After throwing the ripped dress in the garbage, I retreated back to my room. Noah seemed to have enough fun and teasings for the day and was the first to fall asleep.I laid on my bed, exhausted and switched on my flip phone. Yes, I still have this phone."Would it be alright to call Hailey right now?" It was unnecessary to concern myself with this question when my fingers were over the dialer buttons. The phone rang as I waited for her reply. I looked around to see if I have any snack to eat but my room was a mess with the clothes that Oliver and Lucas expedited with."Hello?" Her groggy voice sounded through the liner."Oh hey! She sounded desperate for sleep but this has to happen today, right now."
