171 - The Old Fashioned Way

Lola heaved a sigh of relief on hearing Aria’s reply. “Good.” She said.

The line went silent once more, no one hung up, no one spoke, and each of the women waited to hear what the other would say next.

“Why are you calling?.” Aria finally asked, breaking the silence.

Lola sighed once more and her hold on the phone tightened as she stared out of her bedroom’s window. Aria might have revealed her identity to the media and confessed that she had feelings for her, but no matter what it was that had happened between them, she could not help but still feel a sense of attachment to the only woman who had stood by her and grown up with her since they were only six years old. They were both girls who had paved their way through life together and that at least, had to mean something.
