What just happened?

Noah stared at Lola with hazy eyes. He burned on the inside with his desire for her, yet the little daredevil had slid off his lap in the heat of the moment, smirking like a fox as she left him hanging and confused to sink back into the passenger’s seat.

“What?.” Lola suddenly asked with a frown and a raise of her eyebrow, both arms defensively crossed against her chest. “Oh, you thought a little peck-a-boo would make me change my mind about not wanting to date you?.”

Noah: “.....” Peck-a-boo?. Did she just refer to his sincere confession as a childish game? He furrowed his eyebrows as he tried to make sense of the whole situation.

Lola tried hard not to laugh at his helpless expression and managed to keep a straight face as she said. “It’s getting late, please take me back home.”
