Olivia let out a deep sigh as she sank onto the bed, having just placed the last box from her car into her room. The moving truck had left most of their belongings upstairs, so she was relieved she didn't have to haul any more items up the stairs.
Meanwhile, Jason was seated on the floor, panting heavily. He had exhausted himself trying to impress Olivia by lifting multiple heavy boxes all on his own. When Olivia noticed he was on the verge of collapsing, she offered him a water bottle, which he gulped down in one go,and expressed his gratitude afterward.
"Are you hungry?" Olivia asked, hoping he would say yes since her own stomach was growling and hunger never suited her well.
As after they strolled through the streets, and unloading boxes, Jason nodded in agreement, confirming that he too was feeling hungry.
"Is there a good fast food place you have in mind?" Olivia inquired, her enthusiasm growing.
"Absolutely, and you'll have to pay for the food because of my back-breaking labor." Jason replied, rising and feigning pain in his back, which made Olivia chuckle at his playful manner.
"Alright, fair enough." she laughed. "I was actually planning to offer to pay you for your help anyway." With a playful look in her eyes, she pleaded."Could you drive? I’ll treat you to ice cream for dessert since my back is killing me from the long drive."
Jason chuckled at her childlike charm. "If dessert is included, why not?"
Olivia handed Jason the keys to her car and settled into the passenger seat. Once Jason was behind the wheel, he drove out of the driveway, heading toward the fast food joint.
As soft music played, Olivia began to sing along, her feet resting on the dashboard.
Suddenly, Jason stopped the car and leaned closer to her. Olivia's heart raced in panic, wondering what he was up to.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. Noticing her alarmed expression, Jason quickly reassured her.
"Relax, I just wanted to put your seatbelt on to keep you safe." he explained, raising his hands in surrender.
A wave of guilt washed over Olivia, mixed with a flutter of excitement. Her ex-boyfriend, Jerry, had never shown her such concern; he would often dismiss her interests, calling her music boring. In contrast, Jason was tapping his fingers along to the rhythm, genuinely enjoying the tunes she played.
Though she had only met Jason a few hours earlier, his worry for her well-being was striking. Pushing aside the butterflies in her stomach, Olivia resumed singing softly.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Jason stealing glances at her, prompting her to ask, "What’s going on?"
Embarrassed at being caught, Jason shook his head lightly and chuckled. "Nothing. I just admire how you sing without caring what anyone thinks."
"I'm trying my best here! And don't pretend you don't enjoy my soft music; I saw you tapping the steering wheel." she teased.
Jason blushed slightly, knowing he had been caught. Olivia found his bashfulness endearing, especially with his golden-brown eyes sparkling like diamonds in the sunlight.
She reminded herself that someone like Jason could easily break her heart, yet she found herself intrigued by him.
When Jason pulled into a pizza place, they entered together, and to any onlooker, they might have appeared as a couple.
They ordered two large pizzas and cold drinks, taking a seat at an empty table while awaiting their meal.
About twenty minutes later, as their food arrived and they prepared to dig in, Olivia overheard a girl call out."Jas."
Both she and Jason turned to see identical twins approaching them, and Olivia couldn't help but think they looked almost like mirror images of one another.
"Baby, I've been trying to reach you all day, and now I see why." the girl on the left said, eyeing Olivia with scrutiny.
Olivia internally groaned, 'Not again.'
Jason's irritation flared as he recognized the girl, who had been nothing but trouble for him in the past. He knew she was once his casual fling, and now she was creating unnecessary drama.
"What do you want, Ella?" Jason asked, his tone laced with annoyance.
"I should be asking that question to this girl." Ella retorted, her tone dripping with disdain.
Her twin attempted to coax her away, sensing the embarrassment, but Ella was undeterred.
"Hey, I'm talking to you. I'm Jason's girlfriend." Ella declared, snapping her fingers at Olivia. Unfazed, Olivia simply replied. "Nice to know."
Ella's twin could no longer bear the awkwardness and pulled her sister out of the pizzeria.
Jason turned to Olivia, momentarily speechless, while she smirked, recognizing that girls like Ella were all too familiar to her.
"Do you want to say something?" Olivia asked, noticing his silence.
"Not really. Ella was just a fling, and she seems unable to accept that it was a one-time thing." Jason replied awkwardly.
Taking a bite of her pizza, Olivia quipped."Well, that’s what you get for not choosing a more mature partner." She chuckled at her own joke.
Jason shook his head, a smile creeping onto his face. "She wasn't this dramatic before; she understood it was purely physical."
"Speaking for all women, I’d say many of us hope for more in the beginning. She probably thought she could change you and tame the wild side of you." Olivia remarked, taking another bite of pizza. Jason rolled his eyes at her observation, eliciting a loud laugh from her.
As they continued eating and discussing various topics, Olivia couldn't help but notice how easy it was to talk to Jason. Unlike other guys who were put off by her sometimes crude sense of humor, Jason seemed to appreciate it and found her amusing.
After finishing their meal, they made their way back to Olivia's house. In a rare moment of generosity, she allowed Jason to play his own music during the drive. They shared a comfortable silence, enjoying the tunes.
Suddenly, Jason’s hand found its way to Olivia’s knee, igniting a flurry of butterflies in her stomach. This was a gesture her ex-boyfriend Jerry used to do, yet it felt different with Jason.
Pulling into Olivia's driveway, she was the first to exit the car and approached Jason to retrieve her keys.
However, when she reached the driver's side, she found Jason leaning against her car, a playful smirk on his face.
Confused, Olivia said. "Can I have my keys back, please?"
Jason raised the keys out of her reach. "Only if you give me a kiss first." Jason said.
Refusing to back down, Olivia replied."No."
With a sigh, Jason lowered his hand and handed her the keys. "Fine, take them."
Olivia took the keys cautiously and asked, "Seriously? Giving up so soon?"
Jason shrugged, saying."It was worth a try, but pressuring you into something you're not comfortable with isn't my style."
Surprised by his response, Olivia had anticipated him to push harder. She wondered why she felt this urge for him to pursue the kiss. Did she truly want to kiss him? Memories of her past flooded her mind, yet something about Jason felt different.
She realized that the old her would have acted without hesitation, but after everything, self-doubt lingered.
She wished she could return to her former self, unafraid to pursue her desires, though a thought told her: 'He doesn’t know about my past.'
Telling herself it was just a kiss and recognizing how long it had been since her last one, Olivia stepped in front of Jason, positioning herself between his legs.
Jason's eyes widened in surprise.
With no time to waste, Olivia leaned in and pressed her lips to his.
When their lips touched, Olivia felt shockwaves coursing through her entire body; the kiss was reminiscent of something from the novels she loved to read. However, she pulled away, feeling a bit embarrassed because she was the one who initiated the kiss with Jason. Expecting him to say something, she was taken aback when Jason remained silent, merely gazing at her with his eyes deepening from their usual bright gold-brown to something darker. Yet, his arms remained firmly around her, and neither made an attempt to move.Olivia bit her lower lip, her cheeks heating up as she pondered whether she had done the right thing.Breaking the eye contact, Jason's gaze fell to Olivia's lips; he flicked his tongue out to wet his own. In that moment, Olivia realized she shouldn't feel embarrassed about the kiss. A flutter of desire surged through her; she wanted to kiss Jason again. There was something special about that first kiss. Although it had been quick and soft, it felt profound.Just as Ol
The following morning, Olivia was busy preparing breakfast for herself while her mother, Mary, ventured into town in search of a job. Suddenly, a knock echoed from the front door.Wiping her hands hastily on a towel, Olivia made her way to the door. To her astonishment, she found a new girl she had never seen before standing there. The girl was strikingly beautiful, with bright brown eyes, ginger hair, and delicate lips. With a broad smile, the girl introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Ava Lee, and I live next door." she said, extending her hand in greeting.Olivia paused for a moment, recalling that her mother had mentioned something about the girl next door. She smiled back and shook Ava's hand. "Hello, I’m Olivia June. It's great to finally meet you! My mother has spoken about you. Please, come in!" she invited, gesturing for Ava to enter, which she did with a nod."I’ve heard a lot about you too! Since I don’t have any friends here, I hope we can be friends." Ava continued, her smile infe

As they turned to their left, they encountered other employees waiting to meet them. The women's eyes widened upon their entrance, all their gazes fixed solely on Reuben. Not that Olivia expected anything different, she thought to herself."Ladies," the woman began, "I want you to find some outfits for this young woman. Reuben interjected. The woman nodded, responding."Of course, only the best for you."For some unknown reason, Olivia felt a wave of nervousness wash over her. Olivia and Jason had reached a mutual understanding, and in the midst of their busy lives, Jason hurried off to work, promising to buy an engagement ring and to eventually marry Olivia's mother, Mary.Upon returning home, Olivia found Reuben drinking water in the kitchen, while David lounged in a chair, and Mary deftly prepared a fruit salad."Reuben, can you take Olivia shopping for a bit?" David said, interrupting Reuben’s thoughts. "Olivia will need something to wear for the wedding, as well as some new clothes for her room."Olivia hesitated at the suggestion. She was not eager to be in Reuben's company again, especially after the embarrassment she had felt the last time they had interacted. Reuben was not just a friend; he was the source of her worst memories from school—the boy who had bullied her. The thought of spending more time with him filled her with dread."That's a great idea, love," Mary chimed in cheerfully. "I've always wanted to revamp her wardrobe, but funds have be
REUBEN FOSTER My feelings were like a strong wind, blowing everything away. I was confused and, quite frankly, a bit uncomfortable with what I was feeling inside. It hadn't even been a day yet with Olivia by my side in the car, and I was already willing to forget everything I stood for just for her.Not only that, but I had also lost control of myself the moment I saw her in nothing but her underwear. It wasn’t like I hadn't seen a beautiful girl before, yet none of them had ever elicited a reaction from me.I had always thought that girls just weren't for me. Ever since Olivia left school, I didn't feel like dating anyone; it was even hard to manage things with Melissa. Melissa had been patient with me, and since I knew I would probably never see Olivia again, I tried dating her just to forget. But everything changed the moment my Olivia showed up at my mansion again. In fact, I should have been worried that I felt more than just sparks with her. As they continued to kiss, Olivia felt Jason's hand roaming down her body, squeezing and caressing her breasts.Olivia moaned against his lips as his fingers fo d her wetness, and he began to rub her clit . "Jason, what did you just say?" she asked again, her voice trembling with the need to comprehend his words.Jason picked himself up from the dirt-streaked ground and gazed deeply into Olivia's eyes. She could see how shattered and defeated he was; her heart echoed loudly in her chest, as if he could hear it too.Regret washed over Olivia for not listening to her boyfriend.
