Lucian’s POV

I wondered if Nikolai had an idea of what their boss was doing. I doubted it because if it were so, Baran would have informed him even if Nikolai was still a bit suspicious of him.

“Your master would be very mad to know he has subordinates that are very dumb with the brain of a chicken. What a pity.” I shook my head slowly.

“I promise you, your death would be slow and painful. You have been rambling for the past few minutes.” He growled.

“Ah, you're mistaken. It's the other way round, it's you who has been rambling. Let's get this over with, shall we? Your disgusting smell is making me lose brain cells.” I sighed.

“Lucian, what the hell are you doing? You're making him more riled up, he might hurt the boys!” Beom whispered in my ear, panicking.

“Shh. Don't be a mosquito.”

Beastmen were known for their awful smell, and they always get tense and angry if someone mentions it. They sometimes kill or harm those who make fun of them. Knowing how powerful they were, people knew

Lucian's POV “Where did the things go?” Beom asked the boy.“They went to attend to something important before they changed our location.” Another boy answered.“I see. Don't worry, we'll get you boys to safety.” Beom said as he branded his claws. He them snapped off the chains that bounded the boys one by boy. All the boys eyes brightened as they caressed their wrist which were red as a result of the chains.“Where did the things pass when they were leaving?” Beom asked.“They said some words and the ground open, over there.” The boy from earlier answered, pointing at a corner in the room.“Do you remember the word?” “No.” He shook his head slowly.“Do any of you remember the word?” Beom faced the rest of the boys. They shook their head, meaning they didn't know what the word was.“Well…the rest of the boys were asleep when they left. They sprinkled a kind of dust, which made them asleep. I didn't inhale the dust, but I pretended to be asleep like the rest.” The boy revealed.“If

Iris's POV I rose up from the flower bed, dusting off the little flowers from my dress. Was this what the afterlife looked like? This place was beautiful, which meant I had done good deeds when I was alive or I was a good person. Personally, I wouldn't call myself a good person nor would I call myself a bad person.Well…maybe the goddess had seen how I suffered on earth so she decided to take pity on me. I guess I died by hitting my head on a rock or something but I didn't remember anything. The book…I remembered the book. This wasn't the afterlife, this was a place in the book. I bit my lips in realization. What was that book? Why did it bring me here? All these questions were useless because there was no one to answer them. The main one was, how do I get out of here?I looked around, but there was no sign of any living person, just butterflies and birds. Well…I wouldn't know if there were people if I didn't check it out.I took steady steps, observing my surroundings. There were

Lucian’s POV Azariel had dropped the kids at the council, where their fates would be decided as most of their parents were dead. But surviving ones could come to identify if their kids were among the rescued kids. Roman and Uriel were dropped at my friend, Lance’s house. He was a doctor that specialises in many areas. I knew he would be able to handle them.Beom went back to the council after cursing at Azariel several times for making him worry by faking his death. The ride home was silent, the day had been tiring and I shut my eyes, taking a nap. One of the guild assassins did the driving, while Azariel laid on the back seat, exhausted. All I wanted now was to go to sleep, despite the nightmares. After some minutes, the car slowly came to a halt and my eyes snapped open.“My lord, we’ve arrived.” The assassin said as he opened the door. “I’ll be taking my leave now.”I nodded, as I glanced at Azariel who sluggishly rose up before stepping out of the car with a mumble. Ivan sighted

Iris's POVI was surrounded by more creatures, both male and female that looked like Barbrooke.“Who are you? And what do you want?” I asked, as I tried to keep my gazes on each one of them. There were about five of them, plus Barbrooke making them six.“Ah, she's a new one.” One exclaimed and the others began repeating the words, guwaffing.“Yes, a stupid one at that. She called flowers boring!” Barbrooke yelled. The others' eyes widened, like they had just heard a taboo.“She called flowers what?” One of the females shouted.“Boring!” Barbrooke exclaimed.“How dare she?” Another howled.“Let’s deal with her immediately.” One said.“I wish we could, but the madam is not back yet. She's busy.” Barbrooke shook his head solemnly.“Wait! But we could have some fun with her, a little designs and carving on her skin doesn't sound bad. And besides we aren't going deep, the madam would love it!” The woman from earlier shouted.“Yes!”“Yes!”“Yes!”The others chanted repeatedly, and I could s

Iris's POV I rummaged through his pockets, and I found a bunch of keys. I picked it up, rushing towards the man.“Don't worry mister, you'll be free soon.” I said as I inserted one of the keys into the lock of the chain to which he was bound. It didn't work. There were numerous keys, and I didn't know which one was for his lock. “Please, please, please.” I muttered as I kept on trying different keys.I had to set him free before someone catches me. If I were caught, I’d be as good as dead and I didn't even want to think about what they would do to me.“Don't bother about it. Even if you managed to get the lock open, I wouldn't still be free.” The man said, shaking his head with a small smile.“Huh? What do you mean mister?” I paused.“You see, I’ve been here for a long time and they've extracted so much pain from me that I’m just not moved by it. I bet my pains must have broken a great deal of the realm.” He chuckled dryly.“I don't understand…” I looked at him, confused.“First of

  • BRIDE OF THE BEAST LYCAN KING   Book of Illusion IV

Lucian's POV I jumped into the hole in the book, ignoring Ariel's scream. The only thing on my mind was seeing Iris safe. After falling for a long time, I landed on flowers. I hadn't been to this realm before, but the seer at the council had been able to peel into what it looked like. A place filled with flowers, trees and colourful butterflies which was the perfect illusion in contrast to what was actually going on here.I looked around, but there was no sign of anybody. The mansion where the prisoners were kept should be nearby. Iris must have been taken by the floweries.I hopped from tree to tree, advancing forward but I found no mansion. There was no route and that made it harder. Everywhere was just covered by silly, annoying flowers that irked me. The place was too bright to my liking. As I hopped on another tree, I felt something pierced me from my back. I reached out for it and pulled it out, it was an arrow. I guess my presence has been noticed.I continued hopping from tr

“You’re interesting.” A feminine voice said.I turned to see the queen of the floweries sitting on her throne, decked with numerous flowers.I simply ignored and faced Iris, with the intent to leave with her.“Please let's save them too.” She begged, her eyes filled with worry as she stared back at the tattered man and the young woman. She watched me, waiting for a response but I said nothing.“I’ll take that as a yes.” She mumbled as she rushed to loosen them both. The guards only watched with frowns on their faces, and gritted teeth. The corpse of their subordinates was enough warning to keep away from me.She loosened them before they began whispering something amongst themselves. Then with sad eyes, she held the hands of the young woman and looked back at the man who had an assuring smile on.“Now that you’ve riled them up, how do we leave here alive?” She whispered.“Don't worry, little mouse.” I said, patting her hair and the expression on her face was priceless.“We might be ca

Iris's POV I bit my lips hard, watching him leave the room. Because if I didn't, I might say something that could put me in trouble. And right now, it was best to avoid pissing him off. He just saved me, and a stranger we both didn't know.Lucian spoke like it was my fault that the book dragged me in. He spoke to me like I was some curious kid that touches everything she sees. I was in the library, I picked a book to read without knowing how dangerous it was. Maybe I should have just ignored the book, then all these wouldn't happen. But then, I was grateful that I was alive thanks to him, and I was able to save someone else from a horrible fate.My heart was saddened by the thought of the mister I had met. If the queen of the floweries kept to her words, then the man would be safe. I couldn't believe I just went through such an ordeal, and meeting psychopaths who had twisted ideas of happiness. But according to the mister, it was to break the realm so that they could go to the outsid

Lucian’s POV Punching Lucian was the only way I could vent my anger and frustration. He enjoyed the beating as the mad person he was. He knew who Iris was, yet he had put on the perfect facade.I had asked her to strip not because I was angry at her or anything, but because I knew she'd be hurt. With what she explained to me, the cab driver would definitely have hurt her. The red lines on her face told it all, and I knew Lucian didn't hurt her.If only I had met him alive, he’d have preferred to be sent to hell. Iris said Lucian saved them, and I knew he’d have definitely killed the men.My blood boiled that they had the audacity to touch and hit her, and they got away with it by dying before I got to them. Maybe I shouldn't have asked her to strip, because when she did, it took a lot of fucking control to hold myself. I couldn't lie I felt sexually attracted to her, I had let her get to me.I had never been affected by any woman this way. I had known it would get to something like

Iris’s POV I rubbed my ears to see if I had heard wrong, but from the look in his eyes, he wasn't joking.“I won’t repeat my words, and if I do, I promise you'll hate me more than you do.” I heard him say, and I gritted my teeth.“You're kidding me.” I seethed.Who the hell did he think he was to order me around? Do I look like some kind of stripper? If he needed one, he should go to a club; I don't care.I’d had enough, taking one deep breath, I rose from the bed and made my way towards the door. But on getting to the door, I halted, turning to face him.“Look, I’ve explained everything to you. I don't get why you're still…pissed or whatever. What else do you want? I’m sorry if….I made you worry, that's if you even did.” I muttered.“I didn't try to escape.” I added, but he still said nothing, his cold eyes watching me.I sighed, before reaching out for the door handle to unlock it.“If you dare step out of that door…I’m afraid your parents' life would not remain the same.” He said

  • BRIDE OF THE BEAST LYCAN KING   Strip!

Iris's POV My heart thumped rapidly, that I feared those in the room could hear it. I sat, glued to the seat without being able to make any movement. Lucian stood by the door, staring into my soul with those cold blue eyes. The mad king on the other hand, didn't seem ready to leave. I was screwed, he had definitely misunderstood and with the way he was looking at me, he looked like he would tear me apart at any moment soon. The plan was to explain everything to the mad king, so that if the search party got here, Lucian would understand. But instead, Lucian had found me first.“I can explain.” The words jumped out from my mouth as Lucian took a step forward.Still locking gazes with me, each step was like a death sentence to me. He stood in front of me, his height towering. Then he withdrew his gaze and now faced Lucian, the mad king.I was in between them, feeling so damn uncomfortable. Looking at them up close, they were the same height. But Lucian, my nightmare seems to be slightly

  • BRIDE OF THE BEAST LYCAN KING   Jealousy

Lucian’s POV My brows furrowed, as I clenched my fists. Her scent that I perceived in the car boot earlier, wasn't a mistake or a coincidence, she was indeed in the boot. Which meant she had probably tried to escape along with her new friend.“What's wrong Lucian? What did Ivan tell you?” Azariel asked upon noticing my quietness.“Let's go back to the council, now.” I muttered.I would visit Konstantin later, but now; finding Iris was more important. Maybe it was because I went a little easy on her the last time she attempted to escape, and now she thought she could do it freely. If only she knows….When I find her, I’d have to teach her a good lesson so she wouldn't dare assume for once that I was a good girl. That's the thing with people, you show them a little leniency, and they’d take it for granted.I dashed out of the shack, walking to the car with Ariel and Azariel behind me. This time, I drove by myself, rage coursing through my veins. I was sure she didn't escape to her home

“Well, well, well. Look who we have here, what a coincidence.” She smiled. “Aren't you meant to be at your pack now?”“It's a long story.” I muttered as I explained everything to her, from how the cab driver brought us here to how he attacked us with his men, and finally Lucian, the mad king coming to save us and how we got to the hospital.“It's understandable that Lucian killed those men, he can't stand the likes of them. But he let his driver bring you and your friend to his hospital? That's new.” She looked surprised.“He has definitely caught interest in one of you, or both of you; maybe.” She laughed lightly but I wasn't finding it funny. He was interested in who?I subconsciously imagined the scene of him flaying his wife, and it was enough to send shivers down my spine.“Thank you for the information. I’ll immediately leave with Rhea.” I muttered quickly and she burst out laughing.“You really are as quick as a horse. Is that how much you're scared of him? Don't worry, he won'

Lucian's POV We got to the hideout of the witch, Kaiza. She couldn't afford to stray out in the open as a bounty was placed on her head, she was being hunted.“Eew, I can't believe I’m going to enter this shack.” Ariel's face was scrunched up, as he stared at the wooden shack disgustingly.“Keep shut, like you didn't live in one before.” Azariel glared at him.“Do you seriously want to bring that up now? You make me keep having plans on how to sell you off, Azariel.” His lips curled.“Now you've revealed your true intentions, we’ll see who would end up missing; watch your back Ariel. And stop calling me that.” Azariel warned.“Stop calling you what? You mean Aza? Aza, aza, aza.” Ariel called out intentionally, irking Azariel.Ignored them both as I broke into the wooden shack. Kaiza was seated on the bare floor, with her eyes closed and her leg crossed. Her hands were also raised up like she was meditating, her long, black hair floated with a blue hue encasing it.“You're here.” She

Huh? Did he just say Lucian? I sat on the ground as I stared at his outstretched hand. Then I remembered Dianne's words.“There are two Lucians, the mad king and the beast king.”The beast king was the one I lived with, my nightmare. Then this man in front of me would be the….mad king. The mad king…the one who Dianne said flayed one of his wives, was standing right in front of me. I gulped as my heart beat rapidly. I looked at the corpses one more time and then at his hands, which had blood stains on them. He had saved us from these men.“Oops. My hands are stained, sorry about that.” He wiped his hands and stretched it forth at me again.I gulped as I slowly took his hand and he lifted me up.“Can you walk by yourself or do you need me to carry you?” He asked.“No, thanks. I’ll be fine.” I rejected immediately with an awkward smile.“Thank you for saving us.” I muttered with a slight bow.“It's nothing. It's just my gentle manliness that's slowly coming back, I thought I lost it.”

Come off it bitches!” The cab driver yelled, his voice rough.I clenched my fist, I was pissed. I clearly mentioned the blood moon pack to him, and here he was denying it. I took a deep breath, calming myself before I said someone that might cause a fight.“She clearly said blood moon. If there's something wrong with your ear, you should have said so earlier. You don't get to speak to her like that.” Rhea, who had been quiet, snapped.“That might rile him up and he might get violent, we wouldn't stand a chance against him. Let's talk to him amicably.” I whispered in her ears.“Wow! Now you have the guts to speak that way, two eyed bitch.” He spat,.facing Rhea. “Now get the hell out of my car. Meanwhile you only ran from the hall to this place.” I stated.“You!” He raised his fingers. “You always find ways to annoy me.”“I'm here for you Azariel.” He crossed his arms, facing Azariel.“Since you faked your death, you didn't say anything to me. I guess that's how it is now, right? You made everyone worried.” He gritted his teeth.“Quick notice, I wasn't worried.
