Chapter: Book of Illusion IVLucian's POV I jumped into the hole in the book, ignoring Ariel's scream. The only thing on my mind was seeing Iris safe. After falling for a long time, I landed on flowers. I hadn't been to this realm before, but the seer at the council had been able to peel into what it looked like. A place filled with flowers, trees and colourful butterflies which was the perfect illusion in contrast to what was actually going on here.I looked around, but there was no sign of anybody. The mansion where the prisoners were kept should be nearby. Iris must have been taken by the floweries.I hopped from tree to tree, advancing forward but I found no mansion. There was no route and that made it harder. Everywhere was just covered by silly, annoying flowers that irked me. The place was too bright to my liking. As I hopped on another tree, I felt something pierced me from my back. I reached out for it and pulled it out, it was an arrow. I guess my presence has been noticed.I continued hopping from tr

Chapter: Book of Illusion IIIIris's POV I rummaged through his pockets, and I found a bunch of keys. I picked it up, rushing towards the man.“Don't worry mister, you'll be free soon.” I said as I inserted one of the keys into the lock of the chain to which he was bound. It didn't work. There were numerous keys, and I didn't know which one was for his lock. “Please, please, please.” I muttered as I kept on trying different keys.I had to set him free before someone catches me. If I were caught, I’d be as good as dead and I didn't even want to think about what they would do to me.“Don't bother about it. Even if you managed to get the lock open, I wouldn't still be free.” The man said, shaking his head with a small smile.“Huh? What do you mean mister?” I paused.“You see, I’ve been here for a long time and they've extracted so much pain from me that I’m just not moved by it. I bet my pains must have broken a great deal of the realm.” He chuckled dryly.“I don't understand…” I looked at him, confused.“First of

Chapter: Book of Illusion IIIris's POVI was surrounded by more creatures, both male and female that looked like Barbrooke.“Who are you? And what do you want?” I asked, as I tried to keep my gazes on each one of them. There were about five of them, plus Barbrooke making them six.“Ah, she's a new one.” One exclaimed and the others began repeating the words, guwaffing.“Yes, a stupid one at that. She called flowers boring!” Barbrooke yelled. The others' eyes widened, like they had just heard a taboo.“She called flowers what?” One of the females shouted.“Boring!” Barbrooke exclaimed.“How dare she?” Another howled.“Let’s deal with her immediately.” One said.“I wish we could, but the madam is not back yet. She's busy.” Barbrooke shook his head solemnly.“Wait! But we could have some fun with her, a little designs and carving on her skin doesn't sound bad. And besides we aren't going deep, the madam would love it!” The woman from earlier shouted.“Yes!”“Yes!”“Yes!”The others chanted repeatedly, and I could s

Chapter: Book of Illision ILucian’s POV Azariel had dropped the kids at the council, where their fates would be decided as most of their parents were dead. But surviving ones could come to identify if their kids were among the rescued kids. Roman and Uriel were dropped at my friend, Lance’s house. He was a doctor that specialises in many areas. I knew he would be able to handle them.Beom went back to the council after cursing at Azariel several times for making him worry by faking his death. The ride home was silent, the day had been tiring and I shut my eyes, taking a nap. One of the guild assassins did the driving, while Azariel laid on the back seat, exhausted. All I wanted now was to go to sleep, despite the nightmares. After some minutes, the car slowly came to a halt and my eyes snapped open.“My lord, we’ve arrived.” The assassin said as he opened the door. “I’ll be taking my leave now.”I nodded, as I glanced at Azariel who sluggishly rose up before stepping out of the car with a mumble. Ivan sighted

Chapter: FlowersIris's POV I rose up from the flower bed, dusting off the little flowers from my dress. Was this what the afterlife looked like? This place was beautiful, which meant I had done good deeds when I was alive or I was a good person. Personally, I wouldn't call myself a good person nor would I call myself a bad person.Well…maybe the goddess had seen how I suffered on earth so she decided to take pity on me. I guess I died by hitting my head on a rock or something but I didn't remember anything. The book…I remembered the book. This wasn't the afterlife, this was a place in the book. I bit my lips in realization. What was that book? Why did it bring me here? All these questions were useless because there was no one to answer them. The main one was, how do I get out of here?I looked around, but there was no sign of any living person, just butterflies and birds. Well…I wouldn't know if there were people if I didn't check it out.I took steady steps, observing my surroundings. There were

Chapter: Underground (3)Lucian's POV “Where did the things go?” Beom asked the boy.“They went to attend to something important before they changed our location.” Another boy answered.“I see. Don't worry, we'll get you boys to safety.” Beom said as he branded his claws. He them snapped off the chains that bounded the boys one by boy. All the boys eyes brightened as they caressed their wrist which were red as a result of the chains.“Where did the things pass when they were leaving?” Beom asked.“They said some words and the ground open, over there.” The boy from earlier answered, pointing at a corner in the room.“Do you remember the word?” “No.” He shook his head slowly.“Do any of you remember the word?” Beom faced the rest of the boys. They shook their head, meaning they didn't know what the word was.“Well…the rest of the boys were asleep when they left. They sprinkled a kind of dust, which made them asleep. I didn't inhale the dust, but I pretended to be asleep like the rest.” The boy revealed.“If
