Chapter 1 - Don't give a ...

Stormee POV

“Sweetheart! Breakfast is ready…” My mom called me to go down and eat breakfast before leaving for school. Today is our last day at The Royal Pack Academy. Finally, we are graduating and will start training as soon as we shift into our wolves. Tomorrow, I will turn 18 years old, and I am excited about what will come.

Growing up as the daughter of the King and Queen of all realms sounds amazing to most, but to me, it has been a burden I don't want to carry until my last breath. Stormee, you have to be perfect. Stormee, you need to have the best grades, set an example for others, be the best, be better, and be everything everyone expects a royal should be! It is taxing and quite demanding if you ask me.

I glance at my prim, proper and pristine academic reflection. Yes, my twin brother, Ralph, and I were enrolled in the most preppy place of all, The Royal Pack Academy, a place where anyone who is anybody in our society attends, a place that makes me wear this pleated skirt, with a proper white button-down shirt and a jacket with their crest on my chest.

Yeah, it was one of those places, and finally, we will be out of it.

I am looking forward to my birthday tomorrow. Many things will happen, and I am excited about most of them. Tomorrow, my brother and I will get our wolves. They said there was a prophecy that the children born from the Wolf-Less Luna would be powerful. Stella Hope-Adalwülf, the ruler of all the Realms, is our mother… so that prophecy is about us. I wonder what my powers would be. And how awesome will I be once I get them?

Yes, I am a bit of a social outcast. My twin brother Ralph and my cousin Enzo are the talk of the school. With tons of girls flaunting around them like bees towards honey. They are all an Alpha should be: Popular, Handsome, Tall, Muscular and fucking Annoying. I, on the other hand, am known as the Bookworm Princess… you do the math about how people perceive me, and despite that there is not one missing invitation to the graduation parties, from the most popular kids to the nerds, I get them all. I am sure the popular kids invited me out of courtesy to Ralph and Enzo.

Alright, let's not detour from the conversation. Secondly, I am excited because tomorrow I will shift. They say it is painful as hell, but I can't wait to meet my beast. That fabulous creature that will be my strength. To feel the wind against my fur, to run free, to run with my brother and my family… That is something I am looking for.

Also, I can't wait to get his gift. “Stormee!” my mother yelled again, breaking my chain of thoughts.

“Coming!” I yelled back, staring at my reflection one more time and giggling.

Yes, since I turned 16 years old… every birthday I have been receiving these beautiful flowers. No note, not a clue to tell me who this mystery man was; not even the Omegas knew who could have placed the flowers in my room. It was a mystery, one I have kept to myself for the last two years, and one, I hope, not one of Ralph's pranks. Just thinking about it makes me giddy. Who would have thought? I, the bookworm princess, have a secret admirer!

I made my way downstairs, and I heard a mocking voice coming from the dining room… “All that time, for that?” Ralph joked and I rolled my eyes…

“At least I shower, compared to you, Pepé Le Pew!” I bit back and my father chuckled,

“Hey! I don't stink!” Ralph started sniffing himself, and I giggled. I love my brother, but sometimes he can be too much.

“Kids! Have some boundaries and respect,” he said, chuckling at our banter.

“Stor, you look pretty…” My father complimented me, and I nodded, “Just like your mother…” He sighed and moved his gaze towards our mom. I looked at her, and couldn't find any similarity, but in my dad's eyes, I was her replica. Mom had brunette hair, and I had ashy blonde hair, like my father. Mom's eyes are a deep green, mine are blue, a trademark of an Adalwülf. Mom is taller than me, but I can see where his mind is going because I certainly did inherit my mother's body. Petite frame, round ass, and big boobs. Yeah, I was curvy in all the right places and that made me uncomfortable, especially when boys stared at me as if I was their next lunch. When I went through all the sexual changes one goes through, it was the time when I earned my nickname. I was so awkward and uncomfortable under the nasty stare of the boys, that I locked myself in my sanctuary: the library.

“Thanks, Daddy…” I said and he nodded.

“I will be driving you to school today. I have a meeting with the school board, " my father said, and I nodded.

Ralph and I had our own cars, and I usually drove on my own, because Ralph's athletics after school were not my cup of tea. I will go to school, show up, study, and come back home to rest. Yes, I love my beauty sleep and I have to have a ton of it.

“But dad?” Ralph protested, and I shook my head. I was sure Dad wanted to do it because it was our last day at school. Like our first day of kindergarten, he was adamant about dropping us off along with Mom. I am sure he wants to drop us off on our very last day.

“I will finish early, and can pick you up after school…” I sighed, and he nodded.

“Alright, but you need to dress pretty, because after that we will be going to Gabby's party…” He said, not giving me room to decline the offer.

Gabby Moon, the head cheerleader, and Ralph's on-and-off bimbo of the school year… She is a mean queen-b, one who smiles when I am in front of my protective brother, and when he is not looking, she bathes me with the soup of the day.

I hate her, and I am sure my feelings are reciprocated. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Why do I have to be at Gabby's party?

“Alright, but I will take Dahlia”, I informed Ralph and he sighed,

“Fine!” He huffed, “But keep your friend on a leash, she drools every time she sees Enzo…” Ralph chuckled and shook his head with disapproval.

My dad lifted his gaze from the reports and squinted his eyebrows. “Isn't she King David's daughter?” My father lifted his eyebrows, and I nodded.

He swallowed a chuckle, and my mother sighed. “Don't be mean, honey… they are kids, and they have their path to follow.” Mom said, and I squinted my eyebrows, trying to figure out what she meant by that.

“Alright, finish your breakfast…” Mom instructed and I nodded.

“So tomorrow, the party will start at 8 in the night. We will cut the cake by 9:30 and by 11:30 I expect you to be at the edge of the forest for your shifting ceremony…” My mother said in a firm, yet loving voice.

“Mom, Do I have to show up?” I asked, my father chuckled, Ralph rolled his eyes, and I could see my Mom's left eye twitch with stress…

She bit her lower lip, and then I added, “Just Kidding!” I said in a not-so funny way, and my mother sighed,

“Your dress is ready, and you will wear the one I picked out for you. No jeans, and definitely not one of those black straight shapeless numbers you love to wear when I ask you to wear a dress…” My mother pointed out and I laughed,

“Mom, that is called a Fashion Statement…” I said,

“Desperation is the theme, Mom…” Ralph added, and I laughed. Dad chuckled, and now,I could see both of her eyes twitching…

“Honey, they are joking…” Dad said when he noticed she was about to snap, “Right? Kids?” He lifted his eyebrows, and we laughed, not being able to correct nor confirm my dad's estatement.

“Let's go…” Dad said, stood up, and pushed us around, leading the way out of the mansion.

“Stor…” Dad called me, and I lifted my gaze innocently, “Stop pushing your mother's buttons. She has worked so hard on this party… just indulge her this one time…” He said, and I bit my lower lip and nodded.

Yeah, I have a trail of fashion statements, rebellious mischief behind me, and they usually happen around my birthday or a big event. My motto in life: go big or go HOME!

Dad told me on our first birthday, Mom planned a themed party. The theme was the jungle. She had picked up cute safari outfits for all of us, including her and Dad. She wanted this day to be perfect… but every time she tried to dress me in the khaki number I cried like crazy. I was only quiet when I wore a princess outfit… So yeah, we have an awkward picture of three dummies going on safari while I ruled the world. And from that day on, it became a tradition for me to go against the flow of things.

When Mom planned an Adam's Family Hallowen party, I decided that instead of Wednesday, I wanted to be Lily Munster… Yeah! You get the picture, and now you know why my mother's eye twitched in panic.

“I'll try…” I sighed, resigned to maybe allowing my mother to have this one party triumph. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother: deeply, unconditionally, with all my heart… but it was quite funny to see her snap and try to control her powers from blowing the whole party away…

Dad drove us to school, and we stepped out of his black SUV. “Alright Stor… this is our last day here…” Ralph said in a low voice.

Ralph and I fought a lot, but deep down, I knew he cared a lot for me, just the way I loved him. I took a deep breath and nodded, “As a last day gift…” He paused. I squinted my eyes at him, “Would you stop being the weird sister’” He chuckled, and, I smacked the back of his head, “Aw!” He protested,

“Can't you see that in a parallel universe, I am a cool kid, and you are a vain jock?” I said, and he laughed, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder…

“That's why I love you, sis” he sighed, and I lifted my eyebrows and waited for his jab, “Because you don't give a shit!” he finished, and I was quite pleased with his remark… I indeed did not give a shit.
