A strange man

Kashi and I managed to control the situation. Her room was two rooms away from mine. She was just about to go in, I turned around and grabbed her back to my gaze.

"What is the problem, aunt?".

She made sure her voice wasn't loud.

Kashi glanced at both Conners of the house like she had done something wrong.

Of course she did, after all, I paid for a crime, I no nothing about, since I almost got shot by the goons at the ball.

"Tell the truth dear, why did you want to go to the mall?".

I pulled her into her room and locked the door.

Kashi pleaded for me not to tell anyone if she eventually agreed to tell the truth.

I made that promise, what kind of secret is she hiding?...

I got to understand that, Kashi and the boy she loves, were both engaged to get married, unfortunately, another groom comes into the picture, who's a lot richer, and now Kashi's parents are forcing her to get married.

Even though her heart lies with someone else.

Why are Indians all old-fashioned? No offense.

I know this shouldn't be my concern, you can say I'm being heroic, however, I may have promised Kashi, I'll unite her with the man she wants to get married to.

What? Don't blame me, but some things let love win.

Kashi thanked me before leaving.

I came to my phone and on top of the bed, a letter was sent waiting for my return.

I got close and picked it up.

Who could have dropped this? I opened the letter and it wasn't a mere letter, but a threat, the sender threatened to expose my real identity to everyone at home, at the festival coming up in two days.

I may not know how many days I've got, but getting exposed isn't something I should be anticipating, I will have to find whoever sent this letter and end it once and for all.

Avanti phoned me.

She was curious to know why I hadn't been at home for the past two days, through the phone, I could hear her hitting her legs on the ground.

She must be getting anxious, and anything my best friend gets anxious, she's willing to do anything to get the truth out.

I promised to tell her everything when I came back.

Avanti wasn't at first willing to listen, she ended up doing that, right after I gave her a little hint that started with her brother's name.

The call disconnected and I went to sleep.

I was busy sleeping, and when I got a cough, made me wake up.

I looked at the glass cup kept at the side, there was no water inside.

I got downstairs to the kitchen, I wasn't willing to see anyone there, however, I met Abdul talking to himself with a bottle of liquor in his hand.

He lifts his gaze and looks at me

"Javelin, why are you awake?"

He asked me.

I got close to the fridge and brought out a glass of water.

He shook his head and grinned.

I smiled as well, heading to the exit.

Just then, the entire window was shut down by a spraying bullet and it Scattered the entire kitchen.

Even the glass cup with me broke to pieces.

I looked for a way to hide, I hid there oblivious to the fact that, in the process of trying to flee, Mr Abdul was hit and fell to the ground.

The shot stopped. I came out of my hiding place, everyone came downstairs including Kashi.

I had my eyes looking at the mess when Kashi held my hands and screamed her dad's name distressfully.

"Dad! What happened to you?*.

She let go and I followed...

I tried to call the doctor, however we all met Sanjeev walking inside with one.

The other male In the family helped Mr Abdul to his room. Kashi didn't stop crying. I grabbed her hand and pulled her close to me.

"Hold, your dad will be fine?"

I expressed to her.

She pulled away and left, without saying a word.

The rest of the family rode into Mr Abdul's room.

I came in as well and saw that the doctor was checking up on him.

Sanjeev being the first son, stood next to his dad.

He asked the doctor what was happening.

The doctor picked up the bag and faced us.

He had this displeasing look on his face. Sanjeev asked again

"Sir! How's my dad, is going to be fine?".

Thankfully the doctor accepted that the bullet didn't cause serious damage to him, and Mr Abdul would be fine.

Everyone in the room was happy. I was at the side and I examined the look on each of their faces.

They were all relief, all except for Sanjeev.

His was less than being relieved.

More like, angry.

Perhaps he wants to kill his own Dad, is what happened in the kitchen, has his name written all of it?....

I came down to meet Kashi talking to herself. She must be a lot happier to know that her dad was going to be fine.

"Dear, you are okay right?"

I met her in the kitchen.

She was getting some things out with a few of the maids.

"Yes, I am fine,". She looks around.

"But can you tell me what happened?". Kashi looked up and I turned seeing Sanjeev walking out of the house.

He looked pissed.

I told Kashi everything she wanted the know, she made her eyes like trying to understand me

However, whatever happened isn't just a mere coincidence. I am glad that nothing happened to Mr Abdul.

Now the question is, who's responsible, is it Sanjeev or not?...

I got a phone call from the guy I paid to keep an eye on anything that happened.

He asked me to come to meet him at Kasha Tea and Biscuits, I don't know where to find that place, Kashi is my only option.

I changed first before going down again to ask her. Kashi however was nowhere found.

One of the made informed me that she left, a minute after I did to go in and change.

Where exactly could she have gone?...

The only way now to Know the place, my informant asked me to come, was to tell the driver.

I got into the first cab and asked him to take me there.

It wasn't such a long journey, we got there at least a one-hour drive.

I paid my fate and came out.

I was hoping to find Kasha tea and biscuits was like a coffee shop, however, it wasn't.

There was a small caravan at the side of the road and a huge sign, that read Kasha's tea and biscuits.

Where could the man be?

I searched everywhere for him.

I even phoned, however it wasn't connecting.
