“What’s the delay?” Zeldaurus was on the verge of ripping into the next person that breathed next to him due to his irritation.

“The portaler has been summoned. He was on official business with the queen and needed clearance before coming here.” Syrelia said, wringing her hand worriedly.

“It’s been over an hour!” He growled and Syrelia winced. He knew it wasn’t her fault and he should go easy on her but he felt on edge in a way that was terribly uncomfortable.

“Mason went to fetch him himself so I’m sure they’ll be here shortly.” Syrelia provided helpfully, referring to her husband.

Zeldaurus paced, for the umpteenth time considering entering the portal anyway but the risk of missing her was too great. This was the problem, he wasn’t good at sitting on his hands and waiting. He was a problem solver, and he wanted to either enter the portal after her or find the portaler and drag him here himself but he didn’t dare move a step beyond this room.
