A little mischief

The gates were thrown open and Freya followed him in but she nearly collided with his back when he stopped abruptly.

There was a long double row of fae leading all the way to the house, both the tall elegant ones and little ones with wings that zoomed through the air ecstatically.

“How the fuck-?” Zeldaurus started before he cut himself off and she peered at him.

“I take it the fanfare was not part of your plan.” She said and his mood got darker.

“No, it was most definitely not. Come on, I’ll try to keep it short so we can get to the Winter castle.”

She had to double her pace to keep up with this long legged ones.

“What’s the rush? We’re nowhere near the castle.” She said and he gave her a side-eye that said plenty about her ignorance.

“You didn’t think we would ride all the way there did you?”

Her reply was stolen by the blaring of horns and then flowers were strewn in their path and the rows of fae started to drop into bows and curtsies as they passed.
