Chapter 250

The meeting atmosphere was tensed. Barbara shot quick dead glares at Emily who huffed and lowered her gaze to the floor. She carried the little baby in her arms as though everyone around her were a threat against him.

Richard stayed still, gazing at the young lady who held a couple of documents in her hands and then, back at Barbara who was ready to pounce on them with the sharp glares of her eyes.

“I’m glad we were able to come together this time”, the young lady who was supposedly the lawyer finally said, placing her eyes at Emily as though she were the major culprit.

She was not far from the truth. Severally, they’ve called for a meeting between the three of them, but Emily and Richard never deemed it fit to show up. This time though, Emily showed up because she had come up to tell her that the police would be involved if she doesn’t show up in the next meeting.

And now, here they were, staring at each other and waiting for the next words that would come off her bitter lips.
