Chapter 173

Emily forced the last piece of pizza she ordered into her mouth and down her throat. She gulped down hard and stayed still, trying to prevent it from finding way out of the mouth again.

She had been throwing up incessantly for some days now. First, she concluded that it was as a result of stress, and then, she said it was because of the baby in her stomach. However, Richard’s absence was the cause of everything and despite how hard she tried to clean off thoughts of him, they remained still.

A knock on her door jolted her out of her thoughts and with a wobbly foot, she sauntered towards the door.
